Beaver Creek, ColoradoExceeded or Expectations!

The Blue House was the perfect place for our family gathering. We found the rental on Vrbo and the listing description was 100% accurate. The house is modern, comfortable, well maintained and very clean. It is located on a private lake in the adirondack Mountains with lakefront access. We traveled with another family and we had children from age 4 to 11. The location was away from any busy roads and very relaxing. The beach area was perfect for the kids since the water was shallow until you walked out 30 feet or more. Garnet Lake was amazing for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and observing wildlife. We couldn’t have asked for more and will be planning our return next year soon!

The house was a perfect size for our family. It is clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It has some very nice paintings and just enough "cabin decor" without being full of knick knacks. The kitchen is very nice with lots of space for your food and what ever else you should bring. The upstairs bedroom is quite lovely, but not private, if others are downstairs. The lake water was very low when we visited, the summer has been very dry. We had floats that we jumped on to paddle out to deep water. Garnet Lake is one of the cleanest lakes I have swam in. The water is so clear... There are a lot of "day" trips close by and a lot of nature to enjoy right on the lake. We hope to consider this house again for next year.

We were blown away by the house and location. The house was much larger than we had imagined, well kept with everything we could need. The upstairs loft bedroom is simply enormous and beautifully done in knotty pine. Kitchen is up to date and very well equipped. There is a very good gas grill available which we made good use of.
The owner met us when we arrived and reviewed the details and then left us to enjoy the location. A road goes through the property but it doesn't matter - it is a dead end so very little traffic.
I would highly recommend this house to anyone who enjoys lake living and getting away from all noise of civilization. The far end of the lake is state reserve so it is possible to be away from any sign of human habitation. House has landline and wireless which worked well since there is no cell coverage here at all.
We're are already missing ending each day with the call of the loons in the twilight. Delightful! -

Love the wide open living room/dining room fireplace and easy kitchen access. The house is clean, quiet and comfortable The best part about the house is that it is on the shore of Garnet Lake, a great place for canoeing, fishing, skiing and other water-sports. The screened gazebo lets you sit back and enjoy the natural beauty in comfort.

We had a great time at garnet lake. The blue house had a lot of room for all of us, it was a very comfortable stay! We loved the kitchen- it has everything- but the food, and loved to be able to use the grill on the deck. We also really enjoyed the gazebo- great for nights away from the bugs, and reading in the hammock during the day.

BinghamtonA home away from home, with a great view.

The house is very spacious, with enough rooms to accommodate multiple people. There is a loft up a ladder which is a fun place for children to hang out. The upstairs is a beautiful suit with a pretty view and its own bathroom including a shower, not to mention the whirlpool tub. There isn't too much traffic driving past, so if you have young kids or dogs, there isn't too much to worry about in that department. Also there wasn't a lot of noise coming from neighbors, however there was the occasional loud music playing from somewhere down the lake. The kayaks are a lot of fun, and the screen house is a great place to hang out and eat a meal with a pretty view.

Albany NYGreat Place to Stay
Left on 03/01/2012 for a stay in August 2011
Great Place to Stay says it all but let me tell you why. Small pristine adirondack lake without the flock of tourists at many other lakes. The lake not so small you can't use a power boat on the provided dock for some great fishing. Boat launch at the end of the lake. Many people ski on the lake. I never saw even one of the personal Jet skis. Walking distance away is many acres of New Your State land with I don't know how many trails to hike. At the foot of many of the state trails on both sides of the lake are small camp sites. A very short drive (about 2 mile) is Crane Mountain hike for hikers with good skills. After all the hiking you can enjoy a drink in an enclosed gazebo overlooking the lake. All this is outside the house. Now what I enjoyed inside the house was great wood floors with an open floor plan for entertaining or just being close to family. Kitchen again is part of the open floor plan with everything I needed to feed myself. Almost forgot the very large, very private bedroom upstairs with its own bath and Hot Tub. Plenty of room to relax in front of a large stone fireplace too. Guess that explains how much I liked it. One more thing i almost forgot. A babbling brook right next to the house to help put you to sleep almost anytime. Thanks for reading my babble.
