Villa Rumrunner within a short walk of a very quiet private beach. Not overlooked infront or behind by other villas all you have is the water. We can dock up to 45' boats and yatchts. Boats can be rented locally.
The completly refurbished villa offers 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are en suite and one other bathroom on the ground floor. It is suitable for up to a maximum of six people plus a young child. A cot (crib) is provided. The master bedroom has a King pillow top mattress bed, with patio doors opening on to a balcony overlooking the water

We just spent a fantastic week at Villa Rumrunner! Jolly Harbour is a great location with nice beaches, restaurants, bars and a large grocery store. The villa itself is very comfortable, A/C in every room, internet access, a nicely equipped kitchen and a large deck overlooking the water (and the owners' beautiful sailboat!). The two upstairs bedrooms are quite large and both have en suite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a balcony which overlooks the water. The downstairs bedroom is a bit small, but has a bunkbed so is perfect for kids - or adults who aren't too picky.
While you could easily spend a week just in Jolly Harbour, we rented a car and visited other beaches and sites on the island. Antigua isn't very big but there is lots to see and most of the beaches are nearly deserted.
As for the booking, Joanne and Ian always responded quickly to emails and answered all of our questions. Shuna (who manages the villa on-site) was also very helpful and was available to respond to any questions or concerns we might have (although we didn't have any problems during our stay).
All in all we had a wonderful week in antigua and we will definitely be returning, hopefully in the near future. If you're considering a visit to antigua, I highly recommend Villa Rumrunner! -

Everything you need was there! enjoyed our morning walks on the north beach - lots of shells. happy hour at the crow's nest. tennis lessons with Earl (club pro). snorkelling trip with the "blue boats" to a reef offshore. watching the fishermen come in at noon and around 5 cleaning their catches and feeding the tarpon! Shuna looked after all our needs and questions!

Jolly Harbour is a fabulous place...everything you need is right there and not once did it feel unsafe in any way. All the people were wonderful, locals and tourists alike. And the beach! Wow...
We found the villa to have everything we needed - very well
equipped and great TV watching for the lulls in our days/nights! The villa is in a really great spot because it's kind of out of the way so you don't get as much traffic going by.
The villa management folks were very pleasant and even called to check in mid-week. Wayne with Jolly Rentals was awesome about the golf cart arrangements and our taxi driver J.R. from Nice 'n Easy Taxi was amazing. Everything really went off without a hitch.
We're so appreciative that we had the opportunity to stay in this lovely home away from home. -

Thank you for your hospitality!!! Your villa was just the right size for our group of 6. My kids loved the bunk beds and my parents (83 & 80) were happy with the location, on the marina. We couldn't believe how quiet and tranquil it was, that definitely helped us relax and get us in the 'island mood'.

Rumrunner was everything advertised. Comfortable with all the amenities needed for a great vacation. We were 6 adults (most of us in our 60's) interested in snorkeling. The bunk room was a little tight but with the short amount of time spent in the room it worked. When we did have problems they were attended to immediately. One of the aC units in one bedroom was not putting out cool air but within an hour or two they had come and serviced the aC. Jolly Harbor felt secure though obviously past its prime. I'd recommend this place for anyone looking for a reasonable cost place to lay your head down.

We had a wonderful time at Jolly Harbor. The unit was great for a family of four as it had everything we needed. It was very well maintained and clean. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the marina from the deck and had a great time exploring the beaches, swimming, zipping around in the gold cart (the kids loved it and a must have). Our only piece of advice: Don't underestimate the mosquitoes in the evening. They can be vicious. Other than that, everything was perfect.
All in all, a memorable experience we will cherish for years to come. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful! -

Our group of five adults stayed here in February. The accomodation was everything and more that we could hope for. The owners, Ian and Joanne were over the top to deal with. Their suggestions and other correspondence was always helpful and rapid.
We used the "Rum Runner" to explore the many outstanding beaches of antigua. When we returned to the villa at the end of the day it was a pleasure to sit on the deck and enjoy a cocktail while dinner was being prepared.
The kitchen was very well equiped with everything that you could ask for.
To sum things up in a nutshell the "Rum Runner" provided the absolutely best opportunity for us to really enjoy antigua.

We stayed at Rumrunner years ago when we first came to antigua and it had everything we needed so we have come back every year since but were unable till this year to stay there again. It is far better than other place we have stayed and love what is available. It is well taken care of and updated. Only praise for everyone we met.

This is a condo style arrangement with one end of the unit overlooking a harbour and the other opening to the road. We rented a golf cart (it's basically a large gated community) and it was easy to get around this way. The North Beach is not to be missed and could be walked to from this unit. The Castaway restaurant on the south end is great and the beach is nice (you can rent chairs and umbrellas, and chairs are free if you give them your unit #).

We really enjoyed our stay at Jolly Harbour.The villa is of a high standard and is extremely well equipped. It was spotlessly clean. There is a variety of books & Dvd's available which we made use of, all of which helped to make it feel like home from home.
It is possible to walk to South Beach & supermarket but we would recommend hiring a golf buggy to get around.
We hired a car for a couple of days to see the island - great service from Pineapple car rental at Jolly Harbour.
We played tennis, snorkelled & would recommend it highly for a great family holiday.

Delighted with weeks' stay.After a 9 day inter-island sail the comfort-and ac-was much appreciated.Jolly Harbour is an excellent base to explore the island and coming back to Rumrunner was bliss -in fact you could even say we over relaxed and chilled on the veranda watching the yachts sail by.Would recommend without hesitation.

My family and I had a really lovely time in antigua staying at the Rum Runner in Jolly Harbour. We were met by the lovely Margot and Lilly who welcomed us immediately and made us feel straight at home. The villa was very clean and well equipped and contained everything we would need. There was lots to see and do and we went on a few excursions which were great fun. Ian and Joanne were really lovely and welcomed us onto their boat for a trip around antigua. Unfortunately I am not a good sailor and was sick into their salad bowl (which luckily didnt have any salad in it at the time.) We would recommend the eco adventure and the Black Swan pirate ship excursions as we had great fun and saw some fantastic things. Cant wait to come back and wish we were there now. Thank you all for making our holiday so brilliant.

Good location with great view, well equipped, very helpful staff at the handling agency (there were a few problems with the freezer but these were sorted immediately). From what we saw of the island Jolly Harbour has one of the best beaches. Being fairly active we hired bikes for a week and walked the rest of the time. It's about 1.5 miles to the shops and most restuarants (there is a good Italian at just over half that distance) so if you not a walker you should go for a golf buggy.
We were very sad to see that there are plans to build on the island as looking out onto that as part of the view was very pleasant.Response from joanne heath - 12/20/2011

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful from the moment of our first enquiry.
The villa management were first class and arranged our transfer from the airport and the hiring of the golf buggy (definitely recommended). They met us on arrival at the villa and showed us around.
Villa is in a perfect location and had a very relaxing atmosphere.
We would recommend it to anyone as an excellent base. -

The RumRunner Villa in Jolly Harbour was a excellent choice by me and my wife. Everything about the villa and location was a perfect fit. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the villa and coziness! I truly felt like I was at my home. We enjoyed having the golf cart for our short trips to the beach, grocery store and beach bars. If you are looking for an all inclusive accommodations, this may not be the spot for you. If you want to feel like your at home relaxing on a island in your own private villa, then the RumRunner Villa is it! Although it was the slow season (June 2011), we still managed to enjoy the local shops, restaurants and beaches. The check-in / check-out process was flawless. The leasing managers were waiting at the villa when we arrived to show us around to give us details about the property and area. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and kept us informed of all the local amenities/events. We also enjoyed and visited many of the locals such as Castaways (good rum punch), Al Porto's (tasty Italian and Pizza), Dennis's (great jerk & curry island food), OJ's (good seafood), Turners (nice beach ), Gibson (laid back beach bar) and Shirley Heights (spectacular views). We also took advantage of the Jolly Harbour Sports Bar. A nice place for a quick snack, swim and cocktail before heading into town or beach. Papa Zouks (Creole seafood at its best!). We managed to head over to the island of Barbuda for lobster lunch at Uncle Roddy's. It's a island experience you won't forget! We had the entire beach to ourselves. One of the last undeveloped islands nearby.
My wife and I lucked up to enjoy the parties that were happening around the island during our stay. The UK London crew know how to put on a great old school party!! Thanks for the great memories.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jolly Beach. The condo was beautiful and well equipped. There were plenty of beach towels which we really needed as we spent a lot of time on South Beach. You do need to rent a golf cart as the beach and the grocery store are quite a walk. We loved the BBQ on the deck facing the canal and made use of it nearly every night. The view of the canal and Monserrat in the distance is beautiful. Joanne the caretaker was very helpful and responded quickly to our calls. We will definitely put this on our list of places to return to.

The condo was perfect for us with 2 kids and Grandma. Great location and had all the amenities we could need. We loved the outdoor shower for after the beach and felt right at home. The beaches are amazing and the island has so much to explore! We will be back!

My husband my sister and I and our three adult children and their significant others traveled to antigua for a holiday. The villa, Rumrunner, was fantastic. We were able to have some groceries waiting for us which was so appreciated on the first day. We also rented the golf cart which was so much fun and really needed to get around Jolly Harbour.
The villa itself was lovely. The master bedroom bed was so comfortable and what a view! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need to prepare a meal. We also used the grill once which did need a cleaning but worked great. The outdoor shower was a hit with our daughter and it was a nice way to cool off and get the sand off after a day at the beach. The furniture throughout the villa was in top condition as was the patio furniture. All in all I would rate Rumrunner at the top of our list of favorite vacation homes! -

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Rumrunner. We went to antigua for the sun and the beaches and we weren't disappointed even though we were at the tail end of hurricane Igor. It was a little windy, but the super close beaches were still brilliant white, the water a beautiful turquoise and bathwater warm. The sunshine and constant 28 degree heat was completely relaxing.
The villa itself is very well-maintained, comfortable, and felt very Caribbean. My wife and I love to cook, and the kitchen was well-stocked with a variety of tools, utensils, and modern appliances.
The location is pretty great, too, since there is a small community with well-stocked supermarket located a 5-minute golf cart ride away. I really would recommend a golf cart within Jolly Harbour: although you can walk, sometimes the heat and humidity in the middle of the day makes walking around more work than we really wanted. :-)
All in all, our stay at Villa Rumrunner was everything we wanted. Nothing felt forced or like more work than it needed to be. Friendly people, quiet and safe area, beaches and sunshine. What more can you ask for? -

Rumrunner exceeded our expectations. The unit was nicely decorated and had all the needed ammenities. Two bedrooms upstairs were great. The third bedroom downstairs could only be used for little children as it is bunk beds in a small room. We did not use it so it was no big deal for us. Great location and Joanne the onsite property manager was great. The whole experience from booking to staying there was simple and no hassle. Do rent a golf cart as it is necessary to get around Jolly Harbour to get to restaurants and to the beach. Go to al Porto italian restaurant. Tuesday is 2-4-1 pizzas and Thursday is all you can eat pasta night. Also, call the free shuttle and spend the day at Sugar Ridge. A nice break from the beach. Overall loved antigua and would go back. Thanks Joanne and Ian for sharing Rumrunner with us!
