Description from the owner

The Adobe features dramatic sunrise, sunset and snow capped mountain views. The floor plan includes a grand room, spanned with heavy beams, a step-down living room with stone fireplace and a separated sitting room / office with wrap-around windows.

Sun, BBQ, stargaze in the hot tub or enjoy a fire on the large, wrap-around patio, work at the desk, watch a movie on satellite TV, or hang out and read a book on local history.

Coupled with our nearby Godwin Ranch home on the same property, Adobe can become your guest house.

The Adobe feels remote but is only a 10 minute drive from shopping and dining in 29 Palms and the Joshua T...Read more

Perfect 3 nights in Joshua Tree

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had a perfect 3 nights at the adobe over the summer. It was our first time at Joshua Tree and we'll never want to stay anywhere else when we visit. Even our dog loved it! The interaction with the owner was simple and easy and everything at the house was exactly as promised. This is a magical little house with amazing sunrise views of the desert - we can't wait to go back!

      Exceded expectations

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Had stayed at Godwin Ranch next door years ago and was charmed then by the looks of the adobe. It's large, well maintained, artsy but not cluttered or kitchy, clean, very comfortable, well appointed, and quite simply - fun. Make no mistake, this is not The Ritz - it's the high desert. The adobe is a rustic version of home. Air conditioning worked well and we needed for nothing. Amazing views.Quite neighbors. Amazing starlight. Looking forward to a return.

      The adobe

Left on 11/05/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Just returned from a trip to the high desert , where I spent a couple of nights at the adobe. I've spent a good deal of time here in the past , and always looked forward to returning. As a rental property, the adobe is the perfect size for two. All of the basics are provided, and everything quite comfortable. Thoughtful landscaping and interior design complement the surrounding setting, without becoming distracting. I come to the desert for quiet and a sense of space, and the adobe is a perfect vehicle for that. Doesn't get much better than watching stars from the hot tub, or morning coffee in the hammock out front. But be careful, if you do the same, you might start to wonder what you're doing with your life, and whether or not you should get back on that plane at all. Enjoy.

      Adobe Desert Experience

Left on 10/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

The adobe house was a true desert experience. The decoration of the house is western themed and rustic with a woodburning fireplace. This house promotes indoor-outdoor living with a wide porch with great desert views.
The location is within a 20 minute drive to Joshua Tree National Park for great hiking and rock climbing. We're looking forward to a return visit.

If you want to see billions of stars...

Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We have friends that when they travel, go to the same place year after year. I never thought I would be like that and always prided myself on going someplace different every time we travel (preferably in the desert though). Well, after staying at the adobe, I can see ourselves there every year!! It was the ultimate desert experience! We stayed up til the wee hours every night just watching stars and listening to coyotes and owls by the firelight. It was absolutely perfect in every way and went above and beyond exceeding my expectations! Thank you so much to all of you that make this possible for people! I've enticed several friends by posting photos of our experience on facebook while we were there. Again, a million thank yous for the ultimate vacation!
We will be making reservations for next spring. :)
