I've stayed in a few Joshua Tree rentals now and this was by far one of my favorites! Comfy, cozy & clean! Not over priced and fully equipped to put on a Thanksgiving dinner with friends if you so desired!? Great patio with a sunset view- love it!

we had an absolutely amazing time staying at the sweet P ranch, it's the perfect desert get away. the place is beautiful and it is set-up to get away from it all, frolic and relax. the house has style, character and comfort. i love the outdoor area as well, it's so nice to sit on the deck surrounded by beautiful landscape and watch the sun set. the sculptural lounge area with the glass wall that lights up at night is incredible, a must see. highly recommended!

San Francisco, CALovely, peaceful desert space

Amazing and fun home away from home in the desert! The house is lovely and had everything we needed for quiet times and fun parties. Bedrooms are spacious and it's great to also have the airstream, a fun space in its own right. Owners were super helpful and nice. We will definitely stay here again! There is nothing like the desert sky when viewed from the beautiful space at SPR!

When I think of the desert, I inevitably reflect fondly upon the Sweet "P" Ranch. I love camping in the rocks, but sometimes clean sheets, cable TV, and a full kitchen makes a man feel more relaxed after a weekend away from the city. For me, staying in someone else's home is like wearing someone else's clothes. It's easy to lose a sense of self and become hyper aware that the environment you're in is not your own. Not here. David and Marina have found that perfect balance between kitsch and cool - like a place that you visit and instantly think to yourself, "Why didn't I think of this?" Far enough out to feel tranquility yet close enough to town for late night pizza runs, this place is like your stepdad's vacation home that you got the keys to for the weekend. Not your square stepdad - the cool one. The one who turned you on to Jimmy Smith and taught you how to shoot a gun and that martinis are manly if you know how to make them right. This place has an eye for detail, a connection to the past, and a reverence for the modern amenities of home. I always look forward the next time I can make it out. Thank you Sweet "P".
