  We vacationed at the Whaler on Kaanapali Beach in April 2010. We have always enjoyed that location, as it is so close to the restaurants at Whaler’s Village. We stayed in # 201 (found in VRBO), which is Oceanfront and beautifully remodeled. We have stayed at the Whaler before in an Ocean view unit, but we learned there is a big difference between Ocean view and Oceanfront units. The difference in price was well worth it. The Oceanfront units have a huge corner wrap-around-lanai and the view is panoramic and much more spectacular, not only on the lanai, but also from inside the unit as you have a view of the ocean, beach and Islands from every room. Unit 201 was the most beautiful unit we have ever stayed in at The Whaler. The remodel was exceptional in every way with nothing spared or overlooked.

  The Whaler has the Best Location

  We just got back from a great vacation on Maui. We stayed at a unit on Kaanapali Beach at The Whaler. This is right on Kaanapali Beach and our unit, #201, sat 20 feet from the sand. The Oceanfront corner location was spectacular. You could tell the owners put a lot of pride into the remodel of this unit. It was first class all the way.   Our stay at The Whaler was fantastic. The unit we stayed in was #201 and it is an Oceanfront unit right on the sand. It had been completely remodeled and everything was new and furnished with granite everywhere, plantation doors, and tropical cabinets. We loved the beach in front of The Whaler which was nice and wide. You have to try the Hula Grill if you like fish, although we enjoyed dinner on our lanai most nights, as the view was better. We have stayed at the Kaanapali Alii before, but the view at The Whaler is much more expansive with Black Rock, Molokai, and Lanai. The Oceanfront location is really worthwhile. We will be back to this unit and would highly recommend this unit to anyone.

  Kaanapali Beach is The Best!!!!

  We stayed at The Whaler on Kaanapali Beach in August 2009 and really enjoyed ourselves. We have stayed north of that area in the past but always felt isolated and had to get in a car to go to restaurants, shopping, etc. Kaanapali Beach is about 2 miles of white sand beach and we were able to snorkel at one of the best spots we have ever experienced on Maui, at Black Rock. We stayed at The Whaler, which sits right on Kaanapali Beach, and is within walking distance of several beachfront restaurants and shopping at Whaler’s Village. We rented an oceanfront corner unit, #201 directly from the owner, that had stunning views of Molokai, Lanai, and Black Rock. We loved our early morning walks along the beautiful stretch of beach. We also enjoyed walking to dinner almost every night, after watching the torch lighting and cliff diving ceremony at the Sheraton, from our lanai. The Whaler is a great place to be with all the amenities and conveniences, and unit #201 was spectacular with its stunning views and fabulous remodel. We loved the mahogany plantation doors.

  Spectacular View!!!

  We stayed at The Whaler unit #201 on Maui in September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is an oceanfront, corner unit. We have always stayed in an ocean view room and decided to experience an Oceanfront unit. It was well worth it because it has a spectacular panoramic view!! The unit has been remodeled and is very tropical but elegant. What we really enjoyed was having dinner on our lanai and not having to go out. No restaurant could beat the view from the unit. We definitely will be back to unit #201.
