We are located in the Whaler Resort which has just received the coveted AAA 3 Diamond status and is currently in TripAdvisor's top ten ranked resorts in Lahaina. Excellent condo and great Maui experience! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Whaler Inn at this condo. It was nicely updated and had all of the amenities you could want. The condo was comfortable and had a great view of the beach...always nice to have the waves lull you to sleep at night. The location at the Whaler was perfect walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the beach and snorkeling at Black Rock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo, and plan on booking it next year when we return to Maui for our second visit!

I would love to give my thoughts on this Unit at The Whaler in Kaanapali Beach Maui, my husband and I have just returned from the most amazing holiday over there. I have no hesitation in recommending this Unit, it is large and spacious, the bed is so so comfy, and the kitchen is so modern and has everything to cover all your needs, the bathroom is lovely with heaps of room, the decor is great and the cleaning of this unit was a++. The Balcony is large with a high table and bar stools for having drinks on the balcony overlooking the beach and black rock and a deck chair for just lazing on and reading a good book, the area is quite of a night and the staff at The Whaler were all absolutely terrific. Without any hesitation I would say to anyone who is thinking of heading over to Maui for a vacation to stay in this Unit, it has everything you could possibly need. Location is a+ also. We will definatley be back and will stay here again.

We had a lovely time while we werre there. The staff was friendly and helpful. The towel desk always was staffed with people we could see for information. The people manning the front gate were always friendly. Our studio condo was perfect for us and the finishes are superb. We will certainly plan our next visit around the availibility of this unit.

A friend and I had a relaxing stay at Unit 514 of The Whaler condo complex. The beauty of the spot, the quiet, and the lovely view from the lanai made for a relaxing week.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Tomato Basil by the golf course, and many sunny days at the beach in front of the condo. The unit was newly renovated with granite countertops and a spacious bathroom, along with nice touches everywhere. Highly recommend it. -

We recently returned from an 11 night stay and we wished we could have stayed a month. The condo has been beautifully remodeled and is very well equipped. It is exactly as it appears in the pictures and we felt right at home instantly. The bed is great...wish we had the same bed at home. The location is great with a good view of the beach and ocean from the lanai. We could hear the waves from inside even with the lanai door closed. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and The Whaler staff is great also. We think that this area is the best location on Maui...there are lots of restaurants, activities and shops right there near The Whaler (we particularly like the Hula Grill). You can take many boat trips without ever leaving Ka'anapali Beach (we went out on the Hula Girl which is a 2-year old beautiful catamaran). We also went snorkelling with the Pacific Whale Foundation where you can learn all kinds of information about marine life and the Hawaiian Islands. Many nights we went down to the beach to watch the amazing sunsets; one night in particular there was a rainbow behind us and to our right there was a torch lighting ceremony at the same time. It just doesn't get better than that. We can't wait to go back!"

My husband and I vacationed in Maui about a year and a half ago to celebrate a wedding anniversary and his birthday. At that time we stayed at the Royal Lahaina and promised ourselves that the next time we visit, we will find a more centrally located rental. Fast forward to august 2010... my husband had some business in Shanghai, China the week before my birthday. I figured I'd tag along with him to China and celebrate my birthday on Maui. Fortunately we found 514 at the Whaler via the Internet. We knew that the Whaler is wonderfully located, adjacent to Whaler's Village and had tons of opportunities for ocean activities (surf lessons, paddle boarding, kayaking). 514 was recently renovated (great kitchenette and bathroom) and spacious enough for two people. The unit faces away from Whaler's Village therefore is relatively peaceful and has an amazing view of the ocean from the balcony. Veronica (housekeeping) made sure that we had fresh towels everyday and that the unit was tidied up for our arrival in the afternoons. Having dined out every meal for a week in China, we were ready to make our own meals. It was a surprise to us that the Whaler had six Weber grills set on granite countertops situated at the north and south ends of the property, perfect for making and having dinner while watching the sunset. My husband made a great birthday meal for me! The staff (Amy) at the Whaler was very accommodating when we requested late checkout for an evening flight... which we missed (fortunately or not!) because the airline moved departure to two hours earlier and expected us to check email while we were on vacation. We called up the Whaler and they got us back in (albeit a different unit) for one more evening. I definitely recommend unit 514 at the Whaler and the property itself. We will be back!

My husband and I were able to be in Maui for 10 days and after a week had to move from a one bedroom to 514. We were delighted with the room and loved the high patio chairs that looked over the railing of the lani and gave us an unobstructed view of the beautiful sunsets. Our family had 7 condos at the Whaler and that gave us an opportunity to see all of the floor plans. We realized that for the price ours was a great value. Thank you.

Wish we had more time to enjoy this well appointed condo that has been updated with attention to detail. Liked the comfortable king bed and pillows as well as high chairs on lanai for ocean viewing. The grounds are very well kept and location next to great dinning a plus.

My husband and I just spend a week in the Whaler unit 514 for our vacation. It was absolutely wonderful. Let's be honest - it's hard not to have a good time in Maui but this particular unit is perfect - wonderful view, updated kitchen/bathroom. We watched the sunset everynight and even decided to have dinner in a couple of times to cook fresh fish and enjoy the view. Daily maid service is a plus - this makes a true vacation. We are planning to stay in this exact unit again in a year or two!!!

We just returned from a 10-night stay in Maui. This beautiful and comfortable condo is perfectly suited for a couple. For less than the price of many hotel rooms, we had a nice amount of space, a full kitchen and an ocean view. While the ocean view isn't straight on, you can easily move the lanai chairs so you have a perfect view to the side. There's something very luxurious about having breakfast on the lanai while looking at the ocean! I don't know when it was remodeled, but it must have been very recently as it is in perfect condition. The pictures shown on this site are completely accurate.
The Whaler itself is a gorgeous property. All of the common areas both in and out are meticulously maintained and look like they've been recently updated. Because the property is much smaller than some of the chain hotels on the beach, the feeling is much cozier, and it takes just a couple of minutes to get from the condo to the beach or pool. The staff was very friendly. And you can't beat having maid service every day, which some of the other rentals at the Whaler don't offer.

Studio 514 at The Whaler was a wonderful place to stay. The studio was comfortable and well-maintained with updated bathroom and kitchen. Nice view of the ocean, watched whales from the lanai every morning. Kaanapali Beach is a great place to enjoy and relax in Maui. The walkway in front of The Whaler, running the beach, makes the entire community and ammenities very accessible, or use for exercise (walkers and runners). Overall, a perfect place to play or relax. "

My husband and I stayed in this room at the Whaler for our honeymoon. First of all, the room is beautiful and luxurious. There is a full kitchen with granite and stainless steel. The bathroom shower was very nice, all stone, and big enough for two. The only thing about the shower was we wished it had a sliding door that could close on the other side, but it was covered enough to keep water from getting on the floor. We really enjoyed the dining room table, the soft carpet, and the comfy couch.
What really makes this room great is the view from the lanai. You can see and hear the waves crashing on the shore. It's peaceful and relaxing.
It's also in a great location! It's close enough to stores and tourist attractions that you can go where you need to without turning a night out for dinner or a day at the beach into a road trip. We really loved that the beach was like a two minute walk from the room! So nice! It was great being able to come back to the room and to see that it was cleaned and ready for us to enjoy. That took a lot of stress off. Overall, we LOVED it and we can't wait to come back soon!
