We spent two weeks in this unit in march and it was terrific. The unit is very large and comfortable with lots of room to spread out. The kitchen is terrific, and the unit is attractive and very well kept. The property manager Monty was great, providing all of the info we needed and responding promptly to complete a small repair. The extra amenities, such as beach chairs, toys and a cooler, we're much appreciated. We would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting maui.

Fantastic family resort! This was our first trip to Maui and it was everything we had hoped and more! The resort was just amazing, offering several pools, hot tubs, and community grills. Not to mention Duke's Restaurant, which was also on the property and offered us a great spot to walk to dinner, eat a Hula pie, or even order a drink poolside while soaking up some rays. The unit we stayed in was also fabulous! It was clean with an open concept just perfect for entertaining, and not to mention the bed was even more comfortable than our mattress at home! The lanai was a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the scenery of the mountains, which included several beautiful rainbows. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation and couldn't have been more pleased with the service provided by Maui Blue properties. They were fantastic from the start and did everything to assure we felt right at home! We can't wait to book our next trip!

My husband and I stayed at Honua Kai in February and couldn't have been happier! Booking with Maui Blue Properties was such a delight! They were extremely knowledgeable about the property, as well as offered many suggestions for things to do on the island. The unit was spacious, clean, and had beautiful views of the mountains from the lanai. We were even able to catch a glimpse of the ocean from the edge. It was so easy to walk out of our unit to the pool. We enjoyed spending time by the quiet pool which provided us a more adult friendly environment for relaxing and reading a book, as well as catching a view of the whales from our lounger. When we weren't at the pool, we were able to explore a bit of the island including a day trip over to Lanai but we were always delighted to arrive back at such a wonderful unit for the evening. The unit offered many "extras" that helped complete our stay, including beach towels, beach chairs, and a cooler for the beach just to name a few. Thanks Maui Blue for your personal touch, we can't wait to book our trip for 2014!

My wife and her parents plus our 7 month old son stayed in the condo for a week. We all were impressed with the property amenities, access to the beach, the gym in the condo building, and of course Dukes, right on the property! Additionally, the layout of the condo itself was great with privacy between the bedrooms. Plus, the master bathroom was separated enough from the rest of the condo that it was perfect to set up the pack and play as our son's portable crib. He was able to sleep at night and during his naps without any problems. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. We would rent from them again.

Honua Kai Resort was the perfect spot with their spotless and well manicured grounds. It was just what my wife and I were looking for, Rest and Relaxation around the pool and our early morning walks along the Beach.
If your looking for a little day trip try the Blow Hole between Mile Marker 38 - 39. (High Tide is Best)

Love love love Honua Kai! The condo is beautiful and roomy, with everything you might need for your stay. I was there with my 3 grandchildren, a 2, 6 and a 10 year old, and there was something for everyone. The toddler and I spent lots of time at the "lazy river" pool and the 2 older grandchildren loved the pool with the water slide. We had so much fun. We spent from dawn to dusk either at one of the pools or the beach. And everything is so handy. Duke's restaurant is right on the property so you don't have far to go to have a yummy breakfast of french toast or appetizers in the evening as you watch the sunset and listen to the Hawaiian music. Or if you want to venture off the property Whalers Village is a short walking distance away. I have been traveling to Maui for the past 10 years and by far this is my favorite place to stay. I can't wait to go back next year to create even more wonderful memories with my grandchildren.

We just got back from a wonderful 12 day vacation in Maui. This is our 4th time in Maui and we absolutely loved staying at 520 Konea condo. Everything was perfect. The rooms are gorgeous and have all of the possible amenities you will need and more. The beds are super comfortable (and I'm very picky about my mattress), the kitchen is spotless, the bathrooms are roomy and luxurious.
We were there with our two young boys, who loved sharing a bed and bathing in the extra large bathtub.
Honua Kai is so close to everything. The pools and beach at the resort are great, but we were also an easy drive up to Napili Bay or down to Lahaina downtown or other parts of Kaanapali.
After 12 days we still did not want to come back. Loved staying here and will be back next year. -

We just spent a week in paradise and being so close to all the whales made it more memorable to us.
Bob was very helpful with ideas of what to do during this time of year which included Whale Watching, site seeing, restaurants and my favorite a few trips around the golf course while enjoying the view.
Having the Beach Chairs, Umbrella, Cooler and Towels, Snorkeling gear in the Condo made our days at the Beach even move enjoyable and our bags lighter.
Thank you for all of your efforts to make your vacation home our home away from home, we have been on the islands numerous times but this was our best trip ever!

Love it! Omg was extremely happy with the service from being personally welcomed to our spacious condo and treated to locally grown giant avocados, to the immediate response to our questions about internet usage. Had I listened attentively, the information was right in front of me. Of course, I can't really fault myself, because I was so taken aback by the magnificent view. The condo had all the comforts of home so we could enjoy some home-cooked meals. So wonderful to have access to an onsite bar/restaurant, several pools to lounge by and direct access to the beach and beach walk path. The location to other restaurants, groceries, golf and beaches is within a short drive or walk. Loved all of that convenience.

The Honua Kai condos were exceptionally well cared for and in pristine condition. The condo we had was spacious and luxurious for a family of four. Duke's restaurant and the coffee/grocery shop were superb and we frequented both venues for convenience. We highly recommend this resort!

We had a great visit in Maui staying in 520 Konea. All descriptions on the site were accurate and we were wowed at the beauty of the Honua Kai property. The management team was so professional and easy to work with the entire time. We loved having a full kitchen so we could save money on the meals (we were traveling with 3 adults and 3 kids under the age of 10.) The beds were great. The pull out was OK for the kids. Everything we needed was provided, including the extra beach toys (the kids loved that!) We've stayed at the Sheraton in the past and we would never be able to score a chair by the pool. I don't know if we just came at a slow time (October), but we were always able to grab a couple chairs when we wanted them by the pool. Which was great because our kids couldn't get enough of the swimming. And when we did pull ourselves away from the resort, we took in snorkerling, first time sup lessons, scenic drives and hikes, beaches, a hula show and more! Our days were filled and we can't wait to go back!! Mahalo!

Beautiful complex with multiple pools (and a waterslide for the kids) and a beach. Spacious 2 bedroom unit with everything you need. Comfortable, large lanai and 2 full bathrooms. Close to Restaurants and shopping. Laid back pace at this well appointed complex. Terrific value. We've stayed here the last two years. Highly recommend this condo. Owners are great to deal with!

The team at Maui Blue are the best. Truly professional in every way. The resort and the condo in which I stayed were top, top notch! Easily as good and probably better than any of the other resorts on the island and a lot less expensive! You will be very, very happy that you chose Maui Blue. If you just like to hang out at the pool or ocean front, or want a lot to do, this is the place. Close enough for a little or a lot of action, but totally secluded in paradise. I will be returning!!! People who have vacationed in Maui, especially Kaanapali, know what a great place it is but the folks at 520 and Maui Blue properties know how to manage. Everything from our reservation to arrival, stay and departure was handled competently and comfortably. They were even there to help when our time share management company screwed up and lost our resort reservation for another location the previous week. Unit 520, where we stayed was huge and well equipped. The lanai was more like a veranda and could have accommodated a crowd. Four people were in the unit and we never felt like we were getting in each others' way. The location was prime for everything from the beach to proximity to great restaurants like Roy's and Sansei just up the road in Kapalui. Even Time Mart a supermarket with everything was in walking distance.

This was our second time staying at Chris and Bob's wonderful condo. We had such an awesome experience last year; we could not wait to return! This trip lived up to all of our expectations and more. I can not recommend this resort more highly. It has everything one could ask for: beautiful grounds, amazing views, family friendly pools, beaches, fitness center, BBQ area and of course the sunsets while dining at Dukes are priceless. I can't say enough about the many unique pools at Honua Kai. Our kids spent hours and hours playing on the water slide and jumping from pool to pool. We enjoyed taking walks along the oceaview boardwalk to Whaler Village for shopping or frozen yogurt treats. The condo is amazingly nice with gorgeous panoramic views of the mountains. We enjoyed looking for the daily rainbow that filled the sky each evening. The owner's have stocked the condo with "extras" like boogie boards, snorkel gear, beach chairs, cooler etc. It was nice not having to rent these items. The condo is very spaceous easily accomodating our family of 5. The beds were super comfy and the full kitchen was so nice for cooking meals or snacks when we grew tired of restaurants. We have been visting Maui for years and Honua Kai is truly the best place to stay on the island. Chris and Bob made the experience really wonderful...we'll be back!

Honua Kai 520 is a fabulous condo situated in a gorgeous resort. The two bedroom, two bath condo is new and spacious, and looks more beautiful than the internet photos portray. The bedding is clean and comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. The condo has a lot of extra touches you won't find in other rentals, such as coolers, beach towels, beach chairs and a beach umbrella along with many baby friendly items. The resort itself is amazing with a concierge service, on-site restaurant (Duke's), a fitness room, a marketplace with coffee bar, and a pool complex with waterslide and children's play area. The resort is located directly on the beach, so you don't have to drive anywhere for an afternoon of snorkeling or a sunset stroll on the sand. Lahaina, with its shopping and nightlife, is only a short drive away. The owner is very easy to work with, helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful time in Maui and hope to return to the Honua Kai 520 someday soon.

What a wonderful experience; a beautiful condo at a great price. All the accommodations were excellent. Easy access to a couple of great golf courses and of course the beach and ocean are right there. Stay here you couldn't find a better value. Make sure you bike down the volcano!

This condo has all of the amenities that anyone could possibly want, including an amazing kitchen! The "extras" that are provided by the owner of the condo were very helpful, especially the beach chairs and cooler for the beach (also a pack and play for those with kids)!
The resort had plenty of attractions for both adults and children...several pools, hot tubs, gas BBQ grills, and plenty of lounge chairs! The view from the pools is amazing, and on several occasions we were able to see whales breaching from our seats at the pool! The on-site restaurant had delicious food, and good drinks within a short walk from the room. There is also a very nice workout room with plenty of equipment!
Bob and Stacy were very easy to deal with, and made the reservation and stay very comfortable! -

We recently had the opportunity to stay in Maui at this lovely resort and were very impressed all around. The unit is clean, neat and has everything you need for your vacation. Along with the standard items you would find in a condo, there were a lot of extras...Beach chairs, a beach umbrella, boogie boards, a cooler, beach towels, kids sand toys, etc. The property itself has several really nice pools including a water slide and lazy river that will keep the kids busy for hours. All areas in and out of the property are well maintaned and gorgeous. Outside in the evenings we went down and used the grills to make dinner and it was really nice having that availability when you don't want to cook inside or eat out. One nice bonus that is not mentioned is a "rainbow view". Just about every evening around 5:30 we would look out over the lanai and see a rainbow, sometimes two. We started to look for them daily. When it was time to return home, we found out our flights were cancelled due to bad weather at home. At the very last minute I contacted Chris and Bob and they were amazing. They were understanding and absolutely fine with us staying two extra nights. We are grateful for their hospitality and will be visiting this unit in the near future.

Our family very much enjoyed our stay at Honua Kai in Jan. 2011. The owners & property manager were excellent to communicate with. They responded to any quesries we had in a timely manner.
The condo is well maintained. We especially appreciated the extras that are usually not found in a rental, particularly the use of the beach items which we could not have brought with us on the flight.
The condo and resort factilities are just as described on the website. Our family appreciated the variety of pools and hottubs, use of the bbqs and whale watching from the resort. One word of caution: you need thick soled waterprof footwear in the ocean. Coral is very sharp.
Grocery shopping at supermarket across the highway is about a 5-10 minute walk from Honua Kai - very convenient. -

We stayed at Bob's condo w/ our 2 year old daughter and had the best experience. Everything looks and is as described on the website. Having all the child necessaties already in the condo was a huge convenience for us and the condo was very quiet so we felt like we were the only ones there. Very close to stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and beach so it was perfect.

The Honua Kai was an excellent place to base our stay in Maui. Unit 520 had everything and more that you need to complete your stay. The resort offered many pools/hot tubs and a great beach front where we snorkeled. My teen son enjoyed the work out facilities. Dukes has a nice menu with nightly music. The market/deli has healthy offerings too. Grocery, walking, golf, shopping is all nearby. We found the owners easy to work with and everything as stated in the information provided. Enjoy!

My husband and I stayed at Honua Kai and loved every minute of it. The complex was filled with amenities (3 swimming pools, spa, fitness center, beach walk, Dukes) and the unit itself was absolutely fabulous! The personal touches and extras within the unit such as beach towels, cooler, and boogies boards were all a great treat! We can't wait to go back and already planning our next anniversary!

We travel a lot. And this is my overall pick of places to go. The condo and resort has the best of both worlds. We cooked breakfast in the condo at our own pace, then leisurely wandered down to the pools with all the toys, floaties, and towels Bob supplies. Drinks and snacks can be in the cooler he supplies or from Dukes Beach House - it's right there. The energy and tempo is perfect for a family, but if you want some night life - just wander down to Whalers Village or Lahaina. And right across the street is both a great little bar for the late nights and a large grocery store. Really convenient. Rent a car ahead of time online. ( And the luau at the Hyatt is amazing.)

This was by far the best place I have ever stayed in Maui. We travel to Maui at least once a year and we can't wait to return in 2011. Maui Blue Properties said that it was nice and they really went out of their way to take care of us. We entered this beautiful two bedroom condo that was immaculate and couldn't believe it. Bob and his staff had the condo completely furnished with everything we needed. The pools were great and our kids loved them. Thanks again and we will see you next year.
