We stayed in this unit 11/3/12-11/9/12. It was a perfect fit for my husband and our 3 children. The views off the lanai were amazing. Our children loved the pools and we spent lots of time on the beach. The condo had boogie boards, an umbrella, beach chairs and sand toys so it made our time on the beach perfect. The unit is beautiful - clean, new, and stocked with basic necessities for simple meal preparation. Our 4 year old went to the resort Kid's Club one morning and loved it. We could not have asked for a better place to spend the week. Thanks, Barb, for making our trip so easy and enjoyable!

Stayed June 9 - 19, 2012. Condo was great. The view was spectacular. Barb was great to work with and met us at the condo when we arrived. Condo came with beach chairs, boogie boards, and fully loaded kitchen. Second bedroom's king size bed was split into two twin beds for the kids. Room was very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Honua Kai is great resort for families!! We loved the grounds, got a ton of use out of the pool and enjoyed the proximity to the beach. We also liked having Duke's on site for great food without having to pack everyone into the car.
Some of things we were not crazy about were more related to the unit itself. The views of the ocean were amazing, but since you're facing southeast you won't get any views of the sunset in the late spring/summer. The unit was nicely furnished. If you're bringing young kids you'll need to arrange with Barb to get a pack and play, there are also some boogie boards, sand toys and beach chairs. If you need anything else you will need to rent through one of the many baby rental companies (high chair, family sized umbrella, etc). While the bathrooms were nice, the water pressure/shower head setting in the showers was pretty intense to the point that it was uncomfortable to be in the shower very long. The flipside of that was that we had absolutely zero water pressure in the master bathtub and it took a long time to fill the bathtub in the other bathroom.
We would definitely stay at this resort again, but not so sure if we'd stay in this particular unit again.Response from Barb Kubiak - 07/06/2012

Thanks for the review. We're sorry about the bathtub, but as the renters were aware we were waiting for a replacement part to repair the controller. The part has finally arrived and the bathtub now works perfectly. We've never had a complaint about too MUCH water pressure.
Maybe it's just a personal preference.

This was my 5th trip to Maui and this condo was far superior to anywhere I've ever stayed. The location, the amenities, food - all among the best I've had in Hawaii. The fact that this condo had two king suites made it perfect for couples traveling together and with them on opposite sides of the condo, we had plenty of privacy.
Barb and her management team went above and beyond in answering our questions and addressing our needs during our stay.
We like it so much, we're booked for November! -

If you want a relaxing, convenient and comfortable holiday in the sun, this accommodation is for you. All the comforts of home in a well cared for condo with a balcony that is perfect for your morning coffee. A good view of the ocean and the resort pool. An easy walk to a lengthy beach boardwalk.

Our family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids stayed in condo 649 for the first 7 nights of our vacation. We wish we had been able to stay the entire time in this condo. The views were amazing and the room and resort were exceptional. Barb was a pleasure to deal with and made sure that we were comfortable. I had asked for the second king bed to be split into two twins for our children and Barb was able to accommodate our request. Can't wait to return to Maui and stay again in the stunning condo. We had great service from Barb. The condo was very nicely decorated. Top of the line appliances. The Tommy Bahama beach chairs was an added plus. There were beautiful sunset views from the lanai. Whale watching from the lanai was a favorite thing to do every morning. We loved the fact the the wall of windows opened up and made the great room much bigger. The grocery store was a short walk away. There is a small market in the lobby area that was very convenient. We used the Viking Bbq's down by the pools which were very nice. We had a great time!

We have been to Maui numerous times and my husband and I both agreed, we really liked this location and this beautiful property. The condo has a stunning view which is thoroughly enjoyed with the floor to ceiling sliding door windows fully open. It feels like your whole living room is a patio! It was a perfect set up for our family with the second bedroom and was beautifully furnished and cared for. The grounds are lovely with many blooming flowers and great pools which are heated. The pools are nice for young children as they were not overly deep. The beach was much less crowded than Kaanapali near Whalers Village, which was nice. Overall, we had a great stay and Barb was very accomodating.
