WA StateVacation in Paradise
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was my wife and I's second trip to Maui and our first time at Kahana Village. We also had my Mom and my brother and his family with us. Seven people total in unit 6 - a 3 bed, 2 bath condo. We had only seen the unit in videos/pictures from Kahana Village website. When we arrived we all agreed that the unit and grounds at Kahana Village did not disappoint. The grounds at Kahana Village are well manicured with beautiful tropical plants and flowers. It is located a stone's throw from the ocean and provides amazing sunsets.
Our unit was exactly as pictured in the videos. Ample room for the seven of us, well appointed and sits right on the ocean. We absolutely loved our stay. We prepared several meals at the unit which has pretty much all the cookware, utensils, etc. needed to eat at home. This unit is also the only one with central air (a/c). We didn't use it much except during the hottest parts of the day. There are nice breezes that help move the air, but it never really cools off much. It is Hawaii after all! The snorkeling isn't great, but it is calm enough to practice/ improve your skills. Kapalua Bay is up the road 3 minutes and it is wonderful snorkeling.
You are close to a small shopping mall at Kahana and one at Napili. You are better served to buy bulk at Costco but it is nice to have access to the necessities close by. You can also rent snorkel gear at the Napili center which makes it nice.
On Wednesday nights Kahana Village has a community get together with drinks, snacks, and prizes. It is a nice opportunity to meet some of the other tenants. It only lasts an hour so you aren't spending a lot of time away from your other planned activities.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The staff was pleasant and accomodating, the unit was very nice, things were clean and well maintained and the lanai provided beautiful views of the ocean. We highly recommend Kahana Village and unit 6!

My three daughters and myself visited Kahana Village recently from New York and australia to celebrate my treatment for breast cancer finishing. Everything was perfect from the day we booked in and I personally didn't want to leave. The unit was immaculate with everything you needed for that perfect holiday. It was so relaxing to be able to watch the water and read a book and the grounds were beautiful as were the stunning sunsets. I definately will come back again and have recommended Kahana Village to my friends and family.

Our family of 4 stayed at #6 for 5 wonderful days, and we could have definately stayed another 5. The condo was beautiful. Had breakfast on the lanai every morning...what a view! The pool area was very nice, and it was perfect to be able to barbeque at night and eat dinner on the lanai right on the water! Grocery store about 7 min away and Lahaina about 15 min. We will be back !

Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Wonderful view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets from a spacious lanai set to tone for a great stay. Unit 6 had everything; comfortable beds, hair dryers, two fridges, snorkling gear, etc. etc.. The grounds were imaculately kept and staff very friendly. Housekeeping provided mid week was a big plus when your sharing the condo with three adult boys and two of their girlfriends. Loved that they had gas grills available for use and that they recycle too. The beach is not the greatest but you're a very short distance from Napili, Kapalua, Black Rock; but it was nice to have your own beach available to jump in the water and watch the turtles feeding in the morning. We never felt crowded - it was very spacious. I would definately recommend Kahana Village to friends and co-workers...I really liked that we were not directly in Lahaina yet close enough to visit regularly. If you stay in Kahana Village then plan on walking down the street about 300yrds and have a meal at china boat; it will not dissapoint.

Unit #6 was like our home away from home. It is very well equipped...we always found everything that we needed. It is decorated in a very welcoming, Tommy Bahama style which was very comfortable. We highly recommend Kahana Village and most especially unit #6 to everyone!

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011
The condo was wonderfully equipped and the staff friendly. But by far and away the best aspect was the location. We felt like we had our own private sunsets, our own little beach... All three of our grown children--and one significant other--joined us. Two were about to leave for homes that are not close. It gave us quality time together in a relaxed and beautiful setting. Thank you!!!

Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We would not have traded this spot on the ocean for any "fancy" resort on the island. We started out a little leary of the location but unit 6 is fabulous. We explored the neighboring beaches by day and spent hours in the evenings on our beach snorkeling and body boarding with the kitchen handy for cocktails and the grills just steps away. We can't wait to go back.

There were 6 of us that stayed in unit 6. Grandparents, Auntie, the 2 of us and our 8 month old. We loved that we were so close to the pool and beach. We enjoyed the large lanai and well stocked kitchen. The communal grills were immaculate each time we used them. The grounds were quiet and very clean. Everyone from the gardeners to the front desk person was friendly and welcoming. The two larger rooms had extremely comfortable beds, the twin beds, however, were quite uncomfortable. Our only other disappointment was the lack of sidewalks along the road for morning and evening strolls. Mostly a concern because of the babystroller. But that isn't something that Kahana Village has control over anyway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and
would love to return to Kahana Village in the furture! -

Salt Lake City, UtahHealed my Soul...
Left on 05/18/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The death of my Mother and a head injury my daughter sustained had just about drained my life force. Maui and Kahana Village restored it. My family has been going to Maui for ten years, always staying in one of the nicer hotels. We wanted to return to Maui to start our healing process, but did not want to be just one of several hundred people cramped into a high rise building.
Kahana Village is the perfect place to bring your family and feel like part of the family. Our every need was met. From early check in to late check out. The condo was well stocked with everything from dishes to batteries.
The best part? Sitting on the lanai and staring out at the wonderful view, melting away your worries, or laying in bed and listening to the waves as they sing you sleep. Vicki and the office staff go out of their way to accommodate.
Our family is already planning on returning in January.
We will never go back to a hotel, not when we can stay at Kahana Village.
The beach is just steps away from your front door, small, private, gentle. The water changes color as the day progresses, green to turquoise to blue. Let your worries slip away, and let your soul be healed. Mahalo Kahana Village. -

Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in September 2010
My wife and I and several friends stayed in unit #6 for 2 weeks. Our days were mostly spent in the following manner: mornings consisted of sitting on the lanai having breakfast and coffee and watching the surf and seeing often rainbows; going to a nearby beach for several hours, snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing; coming back and laying by the pool; having dinner on the lanai while watching spectacular sunsets; sitting on the lanai talking and playing games until bedtime. It was a true vacation. We did some exploring and shopping on the island, but Kahana Village was our home.
If there was a complaint it would be that the beach there is really not conducive to swimming, it is quite rocky. But Napili is only a mile and a half away and other beaches are just minutes away. So, we really had no problem finding some of the best beaches on Maui.
We hope to stay at Kahana Village again! -

GeorgiaFamily Maui Trip at Kahana Village
Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
There were 7 adults (ages range from 23-52) in this condo with one sleeping on the couch! This condo is the BEST 3BR condo in Kahana Village because it is quiet/private, has an excellent view from the lanai, and has AC if you need it during the warmer afternoons. We lived more on the lanai than we did anywhere else. It covered the length of the whole condo unit and was very spacious with plenty of seating for relaxing or eating (large table). The staff here are amazing and Vicki and her husband do a great job managing this facility with the traveler in mind. The Wednesday night Mai Tai get together is a MUST! The grills here are in excellent shape and with the tiki torches and sunset, it makes for a great place to prepare your food. Don't let the fact that you can't really swim right off this site (you can but rocky), some of the best beaches on Maui are minutes away. This facility is nestled into a great location in Kahana away from the hustle and bustle of Lahaina or the tourism epicenter of Ka'anapali. We stayed in Ka'anapali during our last trip to Maui and although nice, there are many high rises with plenty of guests and crowding. Just down the road from Kahana Village is a great place to get coffee (Bad Ass Coffee) and meet some of the locals during the Farmers Market. This unit had all of the equipment (beach chairs, floats, coolers, etc.) so that you didn't worry about having to buy them. Kahana Village is very quiet and much of the time you would think you had the whole village by yourself. Although this unit is near the pool, it does not get noisy - probably because of the pool house structure in between. The close proximity of the pool, additional restroom, ice machine, grills, made this unit the best of all of them. Highly recommend Kahana Village and this unit. We look forward to our next stay here!

Charlottesville, VAKahana Village #6
Left on 06/09/2010 for a stay in May 2010
Our stay at the three bedroom unit 6 at Kahana Village was a great vacation with my wife, two young children, and both grandmothers. We stayed 11 nights and loved the central air conditioning, majestic morning views of Molokai, and Lanai, and the ability to each have our own space when needed. The unit is a 9.5 out of ten and our only complaints, which are minor, were: the front door knob needed tightened, the screen doors on the lanai came off track nearly everytime they were opened and closed, and the beds all have extremely hard and uncomfortable mattresses (possibly the owner prefers firm beds).
The staff was all very nice and professional and the Wednesday night reception was a nice and personal touch. The size of the property (40 units) is large enough to meet other guest but yet small enough to stay private if that is your mood, as well.
From a general standpoint, the only real complaint is that on a few nights, locals came up from the beach where they were fishing and used the gas grills in the private cabana area and I had to wait about twenty minutes to cook our dinner as all four grills were being used by non-guests. However, in all, this was a great stay and we'll be back to Kahana Village again as there cannot be a better value in West Maui. -

We stayed in unit 6 for 10 days with my kids (newborn and toddler) and parents. Overall a wonderful experience. The grounds were very well kept and my son loved the pool, as well as the beach (although we didn't swim off the beach). The unit was well stocked and very nicely appointed, and we especially appreciated the beach toys, chairs, and coolers. We had all meals outside on the lanai - fabulous. The only issue with this unit is its location...very close to the bbqs and pool, which can be good or bad - some loud gatherings and loud people fishing some nights.

The service was very good. The condo was well situated and fabulous for the kids. We were able to watch the whales with our morning coffee and breakfast. Since it was so close to the pool, it was very convenient. However, the only downside was that the refrigerator was not cold enough and we had a difficult time keeping things cold. The bar fridge was better at keeping things cold than the large fridge. Also, the blinds for the unit were difficult to open and close. Other than those two issues, the condo was wonderful and we had a great stay.

AustraliaPerfect Setting
Left on 12/16/2009 for a stay in December 2009
With a large family group meeting in the "middle" (half from Australia, half
from Seattle) this was an ideal destination. We took two units (Units 6 & 1),
sight unseen, but encouraged by the positive reviews on various websites.
We were not disappointed! Both units were in excellent condition and
equipped well above expectations. You could have cooked a gourmet 5
course meal in either kitchen if you had wished. This is such a contrast to
other furnished condos I have rented in the past which provide you with a
single pot, two plates and a spoon!
Out units were a matter of a few steps to the beach and right near the pool
and barbeques. This being the off season, immediately after Thanksgiving,
the place was very quiet and often the children in our group were the only
ones using the pool (and, I might add, playing with the pool toys that had
so thoughtfully been left for us in the units).
Gin and tonic lubricated sunsets from the lanai were perfection.
The staff were helpful and unobtrusive and the grounds were immaculate.
The only minor downside was that the beach is not of the first order - it's
somewhat rocky in bits and the sand is very coarse - though what there
was of it was adequate for the children to build sand castles and paddle. It
was also populated by a good many kite surfers who made a spectacular
sight, but cluttered up the small beach a bit. There are better beaches a
short drive away, however, for those who are committed to sand. Our kids
were just as happy in the pool.
This resort is highly recommended and we are considering (finances
permitting) making this an annual pilgrimage. -

My only hesitation in writing is that so many people will want to stay there that I won't be able to get back in!! The unit, the location, everything is beyond description. I have been to Hawaii 7 times, and I will never stay anywhere else again except Kahana Village, and preferably in Unit #6.

Walnut Creek, CABeautiful unit and location.
Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Everything about unit #6 was perfect. The view was amazing. A wonderful place to watch the sunset. Our only complaint is that the mattresses were too hard. All of us were stiff from sleeping on them. Also, the blinds in the 2nd bedrooms make it impossible to open since the glass windows are an entire wall. There is no privacy when they are opened since they view is of the sidewalk outside.
Other than those two things, this was one of my favorite stays in Maui and it was my fourth visit. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists. But we were close enough to anywhere we wanted to go.
Note that the beach is not a swimming beach but it's nice for walking or ocean watching. The pool is small and shallow but it was just fine for us. We spent most of our days at other beaches anyway.
Visit Kahana Village. You will be very pleased.
See you next year! -

Sunnyvale, CAA wonderful anniversary--a superb locale
Left on 08/10/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We celebrated our 30th anniversary at Kahana Village. We brought our adult
kids and their significant others. We chose Kahana Village after an internet
search because it provided all our requirements: 3 bedrooms, beachfront, and
air conditioning (a necessity for my husband!)
We were astounded by the views provided and the proximity to the ocean,
pool and barbeques. The unit in which we stayed (#6) was super comfortable
and well appointed. Any meals we had at the unit were eaten outside on our
private lanai gazing at the Pacific.
Kahana Village is well kept and attractive. Pricey, but we will only have one
30th anniversary. Our vacation was wonderful and I would love to do it again.
Vicki and the staff were very nice and professional. Highly recommended.

My husband, daughter and I and sister and her family had the privilege of spending 10 glorious days in Unit 6 on July 4-July 14th, 2009. AWESOME view, unit, decorating, fully equipped kitchen and handsomely furnished. I suggest that anyone visiting Maui to check into Kahana Village and visit Unit 6! You will not be disappointed. You could literally walk right out to the ocean, dip into the pool by walking 25 feet. The home is so tastefully decorated. . .we hated to leave. Our next trip to Maui, which wont be soon enough, we will visit Unit 6 at Kahana Village. Mahalo!!!

The view was perfect, breakfast every morning on the Lanai was great. The 20 steps to the ocean could not have been more perfect. The birds are very friendly, the pool is a perfect temperature, the grills work great and are again just steps from the condo. The AC was certainly a perk and welcomed. The location was perfect, not in a very busy area but just minutes from the "busy" area of Maui if there is such a thing.

This was our 7th visit to the Islands. We are Hilton Grand Vacation Club owners in Waikiki. I usually do the condo search through RCI when there is no Hilton at the location we have chosen for our vacation. We almost always stay at condo rental properties. Some are wonderful and some are simply awful.
This vacation we were traveling with another family and needed a 3 bedroom unit. The RCI representative told me there were no 3 bedroom units available on Maui. I began my own research and thankfully found Kahana Village. Right from the start Kahana Village felt like home. Unit #6 is lovely, comfortable and the view is breathtaking. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. Needless to say we spent a lot of time on the lanai. The grounds are nicely maintained and the pool is lovely. We would definitely recommend this property to friends.

I have to say that the condo was awesome. Everything we needed right down to the fantastic view. I have fallen in love with Maui. We enjoyed eating dinner watching the sunset. The kids love catching the baby crabs on the beach..I loved looking out on the beautiful water and relaxing. The condo was neat and comfortable, the beds were great too.
It was just the right place to lay our weary heads at the end of a long day on the beach. The office personnel always had a smile and were very helpful with any questions that we had. I wish we could come back every year..

This was the absolute best place! It was just magic to sit on the lanai in the morning and see the whales breaching and spouting (every day in early April) with sea turtles closer in to shore. The resort had a great, cozy feel to it, as there are not a lot of units and you don't need to share the pool, the beach and the lawn with thousands of other tourists. The staff made you feel at home with a great happy hour and a surprise Easter brunch. The unit was one of the best places we've ever stayed - big enough to keep our 3 kids happy, great new beautiful furniture and a kitchen and laundry room with all the supplies we could have hoped for. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
