Kahana Village and Maui are awesome!!!

Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We have been to Kahana Village several times...there is nothing quite like it! Vicki, Harmony, Curtis, and all of the staff are the best. No request is too much for them. They treat you like family. We have stayed in Unit 9 several times, and we love the upgrades they have made. Several fans have been placed throughout the unit, which helps when there is no breeze. The view from this unit is wonderful...we saw whales every day from apr 18-30. The unit is close to the pool, bbq area, and ocean, which makes for excellent sunset photos and hot meals. The mai tai parties are especially nice. Andrew's music is wonderful, and he even played some special songs for our 25th wedding anniversary. We love it here. Kahana Village is conveniently located to Kaanapali and Lahaina...just a 10-15 minute drive. Another nice thing about Kahana Village, is you can enjoy Maui without the crowds of larger resorts. We just can't say enough good things about our favorite place.

      Loved Kahana Village!

Left on 02/14/2013 for a stay in January 2013

This was my husband and my 1st visit to Maui and my in-laws second. We can't say enough about how wonderful unit 9 is at the Kahana Village. Everything you could need or want is supplied for you and the amenities of the condo complex second to none. We loved the quick walk to the beach and the pool, the beautifully manicured grounds were an absolute pleasure. The management team was extremely helpful with any questions we had during our stay. Will be staying again in the future for sure!

10 Year anniversary with our 2 year old

Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012

Last year we stayed in Napili bay with great outcome. This year i was looking for a place close by that had all the positives of Napili. Kahana village, in my opinion, was a nicer and more privet location and the rooms were above our expectations. For the price i would choose this location over any of the similarly priced units on Napili bay. We liked the beach at Napili better in the end, but Napili is a public whereas Kahana is private.

      Great time here!

Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had a great time here. The complex is very comfortable with a lovely small beach, great views and the Mai Tai Wednesdays weren't bad either! The condo was very well stocked, usually kitchens aren't well stocked so this was a nice surprise. Loved the beach chairs and extra towels as well. Our only complaint was that all the beds were pretty uncomfortable-they need to be updated! And there was a fair amount of noise from the street. I would suggest staying further inside the complex to avoid the traffic noise. Overall, we would come back again for sure!

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

View is great, Staff was great !, grounds are great, but the unit needs new furniture the couch is deplorable if you sat on it you sank into it, very dated and very used. There were these small ants running from a lower cabinet on to the higher cabinet. Amenities were good. I detected cigarette smoke in the unit we are non smokers so that was unfortunate & also not enough floor fans

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Aloha, This unit was great for our family vacation celebrating 10 year anniversary of getting married in Maui. The ocean view of Molokai and overseeing the swimming pool is dynamite. The unit has full amenities plus the extra's like portable large cooler, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, mats, noodles. You don't have to buy anything extra its all included. Easy access to parking to get in and out of complex. The beach is not all that great but just 10 minutes you can be at Napili and Kapalua beaches the best in Maui. We stop at Costco for supplies and use the Bbq's for great family dinners. Everything is clean and staff is very friendly. Going back next year again.

      Best family vacation ever

Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We enjoyed a seven-day stay at Kahana Village in the middle of June and it was fabulous. From the moment we arrived we felt the spirit of aloha. Vicki and Curtis in the front office were helpful and made us feel welcome. Unit 9 exceeded our expectations. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely updated. We savored our breakfast and coffee every morning on the scenic lanai. Kahana Village is close to everything and you also have all the comforts of home. As a Mom, I really appreciated having a washer and dryer after a day at the beach. We enjoyed this small piece of paradise far away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts. We are already planning our next visit to Kahana village. It was one our best family vacations ever!

Great place and space, very comfy and beautiful. Loved using the kitchen every morning for breakfast and sunsets were as beautiful as it gets. Only problem with unit #9 was the noise from road and how it effected the bedroom and sleeping. Must say that we had not traveled to Maui from in city living to be woken up every morning by the noise of trucks, cars and motorcycles...to me it was very annoying. Maybe the windows need to be upgraded?? we would fully recommend this place to anyone but would also strongly suggest pick a unit that is not adjacent to the road.

We always enjoy staying in unit #7 year after year. The unit is impecably furnished and it seems that every year they are doing some type of update to imrpove it yet again. Kahana Village is the most friendly atmosphere we have found during our over 15 years of coing to Maui. We've stayed in other resorts, but have never felt more welcome and looked after as we do at Kahana Village1!! The very best indeed!!! Super staff make our stay so enjoyable!!!

The arrival; Wow! We checked in after office hours, our family name was on the Welcoming board, instantly letting me know I was in the right place. "Easy to obtain our key's.”
      Mahalo!
Everything that was promised was there clean organized and cozy felt right at home.
The staff was very kind and welcoming. I had the chance to chat with one staff member; he shared with me the history of the community and how the fishing villages were at one time all along the waterfront of West Maui and just across the road was where he grew up with pets and farm animals right next to the sugarcane fields. This authentic camaraderie is what instilled in me a feeling of serenity. His willingness to take the time and share his experience is what gave me Peace and Wisdom.
Mahalo for allowing all staff the time to make visitors feel welcome. It was so nice to feel apart of your world.

Booking online from Canada was a bit of a gamble - but it couldn't have worked out better. We love this place, extremly clean, great caretakers and booking agent (thanks Harmony!). We really liked the location. It's quiet, yet located so close to great shopping, restaurants, the best snorkelling (we had the blessing of swimming with dolphins at Honolua (?)just north of where we stayed. It was great, I'd recommend this place to anyone and we'd stay here again on our next visit. Better linens would be my only request - but the actual condo is awesome, nice updates and great space. Mahalo!

Very nice - no complaints at all really. great value for money. Staff helpful and courteous. Kitchen well equipped with lots of extras like washing powder, paper towels etc.

With the furniture being older in Unit 9 I found the couch uncomfortable - only complaint I can think of. Wasn't a problem really since we did not spend too much time sitting on the couch!!!

Would recommend this resort to families that like to get away from the hustle and bustle of large hotels and who enjoy nature, simplicity and comfort.

well maintained resort with awesome ocean views

Left on 01/12/2011 for a stay in December 2010

Unit 9 was just upgraded before we came in Dec/2010. Although the furniture still need to be replaced, it was a spacious unit, great bathrooms, big kitchen and a very clean resort. Once the furniture is replace it will be perfect. Although the new carpet was nice on the feet, it will get dirty very quickly even when you take off your shoes. Tile throughout the unit would have been better. Maintenance man Jeff was super nice who gave advice when asked about local things to do.Vicky and Mike the on site supers gave the place a homey feel for the holiday. The Wed Mai Tai party was fantastic and the youth dancers provided wonderful entertainment on the various styes of dance. The pool, hottub, grounds were clean and well maintained. We saw whales from our lanai in the mornings. On the downside: parking lot garbage pickup every morning between 4:30 am and 6:30 am with bedrooms facing the parking lot - annoying reverse beeping alarm; bed linens were worn and not nice to sleep on; and the loft beds were far firmer than we liked, the master/king was just right; the floor fans needed replacing or cleaning. For reservations,we were dealing with Curtis and booking for Christmas, only a few units left. The day we went to book, Curtis was not responding in his usual prompt manner to email. I had to call only to find out he was not in that day and therefore did not answer my email request. The other person was not checking his emails. This was frustrating as there was two other families we were traveling with and wanted to all be at the same resort. So ensuring our booking was confirmed was critical to us. I think this could be improved and have them check each others desk when one is away. The upgraded unit has now moved to the next price level - I thought it was expensive at the price we paid. At the joke goes '"any one who has been to Maui more than once? You must be rich!" Overall still an very very nice resort with great people and views.

We were booked into unit 9. When we arrived it did not meet our expectations as viewed on the Web Site. We stayed in unit 9 one night and the awesome staff moved us into unit 7 which met and surpassed our expectations. Renovations were started on unit 9 the day that we left. I therefore have no doubt that, that unit would now meet our requirements.

Unit #9 of Kahana Village is a wonderful suite with a great view of the ocean - you can watch the humpback whales from the lanai. We stayed here for 6 nights and we were two couples, each with our own room and bathroom which was a plus. The kitchen had everything you needed and there were plenty of towels so you could take separate ones down to the pool. We thought it strange at first that all barbeque had to be done down on the pool deck, but it ended up being a great spot and you can chat with other guests while watching the ocean.
There are several shops within walking distance that include a grocery store, a gas station, a spa and a scuba shop where you can rent snorkelling gear for a good price ($25 for the week). You can also just snorkel along the reef right out front of Kahana Village, although the visibility isn't great.
You must have a car to stay here though, as it is not within walking distance of any sites or towns such as Lahaina.
The home itself is lovely - very clean and simple with nice decorations and a homey feel. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it.

The location was great. We liked that we could walk to the general store and right out the condo to the beach as well.
We really liked everything about the unit and the grounds. They were well kept and quiet and just beautiful. Only 2 complaints, the main bedroom facing the street was a bit noisy, and the second was we wish we didn't have to leave.

We stayed in #8 for 10 nights and #9 for one night. #8 was definitely the better of the two units as far as updating, furnishings, etc. We have stayed at Kahana Village for many years and hopefully will continue to do do. It is a wonderful complex in a great location with all of the amenities we would want. The staff continues to be outstanding in the way they handle their guests and their jobs. We would prefer to be farther away from the pool than either 8 or 9 but did not really have any choice with a late reservation.

Kahana Village is the way to go. Its small, each unit is individually owned, so its more like visiting in someones' home, as opposed to a timeshare. Resort management goes the extra mile. Ex: free breakfast, free mai tai cocktail hour, free long distance phone calls (that's unheard of!). Common areas are very clean and well taken care of. Unit #9 is showing its wear. Could use some updating, but it served our purposes very well.

My sister and I had a great week in our 2 bedroom condo. We had plenty of space to relax in plus a well equipped kitchen. The unit was quiet. While the unit was not air conditioned, there was an abundance of tradewinds - and fans in every room. There was a nice touch of a Hawaiian CD and a CD player as well. I'd highly recommend to others.

We really enjoyed out stay at Kahana village unit #9.

The kitchen was well stocked with useful cooking items that we really appreciated. The unit was clean and very comfortable and the beds were wonderful...The decor was a little outdated but we didn't mind a bit.

Staff was friendly, the pool was amazing and the calm and quiet space was a treat.

For constructive feedback I would offer that the only "issues" for me were that the washing machine was very small and not very efficient and the downstairs bathroom smelled a little bit "off" to me (but it was definitely clean).

Truly, however, I would recommend this lovely space.

We spent a week at Kahana Village. There were 5 of us. Enjoyed the Mai Tai Wednesday festivities. Location is great really liked having breakfast out on the deck with view of ocean and pool. We also enjoyed being able to BBQ fresh fish in the evenings. location was great for going snorkling sightseeing or to market. Everyone was very friendly. Home was clean and fully stocked for cooking, really liked having laundry facility in the unit. Only issue is that it could get a bit warm in the loft and the fans weren't very effective so it was difficult to sleep some evenings. We have recommended to friends and do intend to visit again.
