Ottawa, OntarioMost Excellent - Trip of a life time - 1 more item off my bucket
Left on 05/03/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Unit/rsort facilities was exactly as described. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Best of all worlds with the beach/pool/hot tub on site. Note: no aC for us poor CDN smucks that melt when the temp. goes over 75F!
Activities we enjoyed;
- Walk the beach to see Sea Turtles feeding
- Swimming in the ocean at the resort - very good...stay to the left side of the beach to avoid the rocks.
- Whale watching from our lani and also an excursion with Pacific Whale Foundation - Very good. At this time of season there are not many whales thus I would make a point of returning during the peak of whalewatch season which is typically in Feb. and March
- Snorkeling excursion with aqua adventures to Molokini Crater snorkle - excellent! - 5/5 stars. Excellent Cpt.+Crew - 35 people max. on boat (although Hanauma Bay on Oahu is even better to see fish up close).
- Atlantis Submarine excursion - dove to 130 ft. - very good but no match for snorkleing to see the true colours of the fish. Considered it a once in a life time chance...How many people can say they have been in a sub.
- Road to Hana - good, but very long day. Start early. The black sand beach is a must see. You don't necessarily need to drive all the way to Hana as it is virtually the same all the way...suggest returning after seeing the black sand beach. Also, get a map/audio tour cd from the resort office as it is very interesting and helpful...stop at mile marker 6 to see the painted bark Eucalyptus trees as this is the only place we seen them.
- Royal Lahaina luau - excellent - we paid extra to be at the front...not really required - 10minutes from the resort
- I would recommend renting a surf or paddle board while at the resort. Also, next time I would take my own snorkle equipment. Search the web for best snorkling loactions.
- The more homework you complete before going to Hawaii the more you will be prepared and enjoy it.
- We rented our car from alamo - extra $13/day for 2nd driver...Wtf is that? -

I was very satisfied with the whole experience.. the booking was smooth, there were no check in issues, the unit was pretty much as advertised.
While there were some small updates required, the place was clean, comfortable and totally livable. It made for a great base while on Maui and I would recommend this complex. -

Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Kahana Village is a beach front property and very well maintained. Our unit had not been updated but was clean and met our needs. We appreciated the use of beach chairs and boogie boards and the lots of towels. I loved having the full kitchen and laundry. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem at all. The fans worked well and the breeze through the windows was perfect. Managers Mai Tai party was fun.

Spooner, WIEverything we needed!
Left on 03/22/2013 for a stay in March 2013
The condo at Kahana Village was everything we needed and more. It was like staying at a friend's house. It was cozy and comfortable without being so pristine that you had to worry about making a mark when you stayed there. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The lanai was adequately large for the four of us to be out there and watch the whales. The staff was more than friendly and accomodating. Every business should want for the type of customer service and attention we received. Long story short, Kahana Village was everything we hoped for and more. We rented unit 16. If you want ultra-luxurious, rent a higher priced unit. For the time you spend indoors, you could spend your extra money elsewhere.

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We loved Kahana Village! Our favorite parts were sitting on the Lanai and having breakfast looking at the ocean and grilling and eating our dinners near the pool. We loved the small community and staff at Kahana Village. The grounds were immaculate and everyone was friendly. Of course a lot of time was spent on the beach and the pool. Our condos were stocked well and had everything that we needed for our stay. We will definitely return. Thank you Harmony at Kahana Village for all of your help to make our vacation wonderful!

Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The condo had almost everything you need. We didn't spend a ton of time there since we were there to see Hawaii, but it was nice being able to return to a comfortable place that had what you needed to relax after a long day.
Hot water did run out quickly. Things like more spices and baggies would have been helpful, but those were minor things.
The complex was quiet and had a non-commercialized feel that was awesome. Staff was super friendly and eager to help with any request or question. -

Loved the view and layout. The furniture was fine, but the basics in the condo should probably be updated. Posted quiet hours were maintained well, but the noise level seemed a little high at other times of the day due to the condo's proximity to the pool area.

The location of Kahana Village was great. The condo needed some updating the bathrooms needed some work. No air conditioning but it was January so we opened the windows on the 1st floor bedroom and there was the problem: a barking dog all night and people in the parking lot. Way too noisy... The dog was awful it barked all night & day. Maybe if we had been in another condo we wouldn't have heard it. You could tell the people or owners all new each other they are not friendly so I will stay at a resort next time.

Billings, Montana4-5 stars for Kahana Village, only 2-3 stars for Unit #16...
Left on 05/20/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We had a great vacation and came to Kahana Village at the recommendation of family and friends. The Kahana Village staff and management are excellent and it lies on a picturesque beach overlooking the ocean, in a great location between Napili and Kaanapali beaches. The pool is a quieter and more calm than the big hotels. We had the advantage of seeing other units once we were there and noted quite a difference in upkeep between the different units. I recommend that #16 gets a remodel and updating sometime soon to match the quality of the other units. A little damp, moist and mildewy... but the other units we saw were great. We would certainly return to Kahana Village... but choose a different unit next time.

Kahana Village is a great choice of a quiet vacation loction right on the beach. We had a great view from our condo. of both the pool and the ocean. It was perfectly located for trips both North and South of us-very handy.
If there was a down side, it was that this particular unit needed updating. The kitchen cupboards were old and worn and smelled musty, and the bathroom tiles were old and loose, but that is the fault of the individual owner.
The managers, Vicki and Mike, were so nice, and the Mai Tai party they provided was so much fun. Vicki also took extra time to give us detailed information about nice places to go for dinner.
In General the facility is very clean and neat-grounds are beautifully kept.
We were pleasantly surprised that we got a mid-week maid service too, which we hadn't expected-nice! The condo was well stocked with what we needed in the way of cookware, coffee pot, towels, beach chairs, ice cubes, dishes and glass ware, etc.Everything was very nice.
We would certainly go back.

We loved the condo. The view was incredible, the lanai was spacious and a great spot to watch whales all day. We couldn't believe how well-stocked and roomy the entire condo was. We loved this part of the island for being close to a great coffee-shop, shady runs in the morning and the constant sound of surf. We felt that we were a 10 minute drive to anything. We felt comfortable and relaxed the instant we arrived.

Love Kahana Village, not Unit 16
Tacoma, WABack to Kahana Village
Left on 03/03/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We have not been to K V for 5 yrs since our traveling friend was killed. We love the location, view and overall resort, but Unit 16 was a disappointment. To describe it as tired is being kind. Tile missing in upstairs bath, fan in downstairs bath notworking, dryer barely works, needs painting, kitchen cabinets need refinish, poor supply of glasses, old chipped dishes, missing furniture, old towels etc.
We have stayed at KV many times in the past and this is by far our worst Unit. It was embarassing because our friends time share Unit on Hawaii, the week before, was much better. We were not advised of the Unit condition when making our reservation. We will seriously question the KV reservation desk about Unit condition when booking in the future. If the owners of 16 don't upgrade it should be pulled from the rental pool. -

Aloha!
We had a great time in Hawaii and the Kahana Village is a great place to stay. The waterfront view is spectacular and we especially enjoyed watching the humpback whales from the lanai.
The unit had everything that we needed and ample space for everyone. The only suggestion we have is that it needs some upgrades. We noticed some tiles were missing in the bathrooms.
We're already planning our next trip. Mahalo.

Number 16 has a fantastic view and is mostly very comfortable. The loft can be quite stuffy when it is hot and the Trades aren't blowing, but it is mostly comfortable. The appliances are really tired with water dripping from the freezer, a barely adequate stove, and a dryer that needs three or four runs to dry almost anything. But the grounds are spectacular and the lanai view is worth it.

My family and I loved our stay at Kahana Village. We have two young children, ages one and three, and they loved playing by the pool as well as running around the large units. One of the most surprising and useful features was the large amount of beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas already supplied in the room. That made trips to the beach much easier and enjoyable. The unit was clean, and the view was beautiful since you are right on the ocean. For most meals, we sat on the lanai to enjoy the view and relax. We will certainly stay here when we return.

My wife, her parents and I stayed in Unit 16 at Kahana Village. The unit was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equiped, with nice touches throughout the condo (extra towels, laundry with supplies, etc). The outdoor ammenities were great (pool, grills and beach), and they have some beach stuff you can borrow, which is very nice.
The staff was very helpful, accomidating and knowledgable about local resturants and activities. I found it to be very relaxing and a good family environment. We look forward to returning. -

Three girls on a womens only trip (left the men in California). We found Unit #16 well stocked with everything we needed - including extra towels. This is my 5th stay at Kahana Village and it was wonderful, as always. Love, love, love the Wednesday mai tai party. Lots of whale action off the beach at Kahana Village. We even survived a tsumani! I'll be back in 2011 - this time with my husband.

We love Kahana Village! The location is beautiful and quiet. The managers and staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly. The views are unbelievable! The complex is big enough to have options and amenities, but small enough so it is not crowded or noisy. My only concern is the unit we stayed in we have stayed in before, (3 years ago), and really needs some basic upgrading-new carpet, new tile in the bathrooms, newer living room furniture.

We enjoyed a week at Kahana Village for a mini family reunion. Two families rented 2 condos and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The location is great -- close to the beach and the pool. The staff was very friendly and we especially enjoyed the Wednesday night mai tai party. Our unit was comfortable and clean, although dated, and was roomy enough for 5 adults. We stayed at unit #16 from April 15-29, 2009. The unit was great- better than home, but that might have something to do with the amazing view from the lanai. The grounds at the Kahana Village are beautiful and very well maintained- we enjoyed the relaxing bbq area nightly and daily dips in the pool. The beach was perfect for the kids and we even saw turtles swimming off shore. The staff at the KV was amazing- always friendly and meeting our needs. Other family members stayed in unit #26, 27 and 34 and everyone was impressed with their units and everything the KV has to offer. The website photos of the KV do not do the place justice- you need to check it out in person to enjoy its beauty. Mahalo! J, P & n Essinger

Loved the beautiful views from the condo unit. The condo itself was a perfect fit for us - our infant slept in the bedroom downstairs with the door closed while we slept upstairs in the loft with our 2 yr old.
The location has easy access to some great snorkling beaches closeby. Of course, the Kannapali restaurant strip and the black rock beach is closeby.
Negatives :
1. No airconditioning. But there were these ionizing fans all over the house. Helped compensate.
2. The beach right behind the condo is no good for snorkling or even a short walk - it is a very short little littered stretch of pebbly shore.

We stayed at the Kahana Village for two weeks and had a fabulous time! We were with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons and they loved the location as well. We really appreciated the service we received the night we arrived. We got to the resort later in the evening but the key was easy to pick up and the rooms had everythng we required. We were so pleased to find the kitchen had some basic supplies for the first morning. Our grandsons loved being so close to the beach and we were thankful we did not have to cross a busy highway with them. They also loved the swimming pool. The staff was great and very accomodating. Overall the experience was very positive and we would love to return. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday!

I look at the postcard with the drawing of Kahana Village and image myself on the balcony--looking at the ocean at sunset. Collecting sea glass, sea shells, watching the pole surfer glide by--I can almost smell the ocean. The memories are wonderful and we will be back!! Kahana's staff made our trip the best and the maintenance at this facility is tremendous. I could not hope for a better trip next time, but I can dream......

british columbia, canadaAnother great vacation at Kahana Village on Maui
Left on 05/05/2009 for a stay in April 2008
Our family has stayed at Kahana village a number of times over the last 20 or so years. My husband and I booked our vacation last year in April, 2008 at the last minute so we stayed in 3 different units. We arrived on April 20,2008 and our first 4 nights were in Unit #27 (ocean front). The unit was beautiful and the view from the lanai was spectacular. On April 24,2008 we moved to unit #11 (ocean view). This unit was even nicer than Unit #27. A beautiful kitchen (granite countertops, lovely dinning room, living room, and bathrooms. The only downside of this unit is the fact that the back of the unit faces the main road (a little loud in the a.m.) On April 29th we moved a final time to Unit #16 (ocean view). This unit was the only unit available at that time and we wanted to stay a full two weeks. It was unfortunate that we moved to this unit at the end of the our vacation as it had not been renovated for a very long time. Very old and depressing. The only saving grace was the view from the Lanai but unfortunately the patio furniture was very old and tired. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were in very bad shape, old kitchen dishes all mismatched, chipped cups, stove in bad shape, stained bathtub, etc. It looked exactly like units we had rented 20 or more years ago. Very disappointing. We would go back to Kahana Village but not to stay in Unit #16. We had a lovely holiday and Vickie and the rest of the staff were great. Log onto the Kahana Village web site so see views of each unit.

My wife, son and two daughters spent a relaxing ten day's on Maui at this resort.
We were very impressed with all the furnishings and layout of the condo. There wasn't one thing lacking that was not provided in our unit.
Although we were in the vehicle doing the tourist thing most of the day keeping the kids entertained, we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves either in the pool or ocean when we got back.
I highly recommend this resort to all and when we do go back to Maui we will be staying aere again, Aloha
