Our visit to Kahana Village was excellent, Vicki made us feel welcomed.
Unit 28 was wonderful and the pictures from the internet does not do it justice. We arrived late at night due to delayed /cancelled flights which was very stressful, upon opening the door to the condo and seeing the ocean then opening the sliding doors out to the lanai all we can say is wow!!! Great relaxing vacation and we will be back! -

Seattle, Wa area = Husband/I (52 & 51) spent our 1st wk (Apr 20-27, 2013) on Maui with his parents (80 & 75) in Kihei. Enjoyed so much (Find "Kinaole Grill" food truck. Amazing - be prepared to wait for order) but, dad/mom continually talked about what we had to look forward to (Apr 28-May 11, 2013) in "Kahana Village" - couldn't wait for all of us to be there! It was fun to see Dad/Mom's name on the "Welcome" board upon arrival... Walked into room 28 and melted into the place! Great kitchen/appliances... large 'frig, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, blender, mixer, coffee maker & filters, lots of utensils, cookware, dishes - glass & acrylic, glass & acrylic drink ware, 2 sets flatware , variety of serving trays/bowls, basic spices, oils & non-perishable sauces/condiments in the cupboards, large dining table. Washer/Dryer, Iron/Board, Boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, coolers. Housekeeping = once a week. No aC, but high ceilings and windows have screens/blinds - can remain open. Huge sliding doors that face the beach - can be kept open 24/7 if you're comfortable with that = fresh sea air! Décor throughout is tasteful and comfortable. Beach access = close & nice - snorkel/swim, as well. Beautiful grounds - nice pool. Facility manager, Curtis was very cordial, helpful and kind - fun to be served by him on Mai Tai night. Thankful for his help w/safe in room! The location is prime - short drive to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kappalua, to name a few great nearby areas/beaches. Safeway, Times & Foodland grocer's very close. Recommend Skyline Eco adventures Zipline, Frogman Charters = Molokini snorkel (Must Do, but on a right wind day),"Ono Gelato" for Gelato & unique gifts,"Roy's" = fancy restaurant and "Honokowai Okazuya" = good take out. We enjoyed live music, drinks and/or food in the evening @ "Burger in Paradise.#1 = Sacred time, however, was being with Father/Mother in Hawaii Paradise - I was Texas Hold 'em $ loser, but life-experience winner!

Portland, ORWe couldn't have chosen better accommodations than Kahana Villag
Left on 06/03/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Really! More than any place we saw during our 11-night stay, Kahana Village best met our preferences of: on a beach, low-profile Hawaiian styled architecture, neighborhood feel, and a somewhat isolated but still convenient to tourism services location. That would have been enough, but Kahana Village also comes with beautifully landscaped and maintained grounds, a nice sized pool that rarely had more than a few people around it, and a staff that seem genuinely concerned about making you happy. Top it off with a tastefully furnished condo and you've got, well... paradise. ;-)
My only negative would be that the one time I tried snorkeling off the beach there, I didn't see a single fish, eel, sea turtle, ray... nothing. But I guess it's not fair to lay that off on Kahana Village, is it.

We loved our stay at Kahana. It is such a wonderful place. Unit 28 had everything we needed. The view was spectacuar. We would stay there again. The service was excellent. We stayed in the loft and the bed was hard to get in & out of. We would have liked a ful shower stall instead of a hand held one. Other than that it was a great unit.

Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We have been returning about every year or two since '94 and would go nowhere else on Maui. We usually stay in Unit 22, but this time we split our stay between 15 and 28 because of our schedule. Both units are beautiful, 28 we prefer because the water view is better.
Vicki and her staff are always helpful.
The grounds are a lesson in tropical gardening.
Improvements:
28 has a Koa bench in the alcove that is a lovely piece of sculpture, but not very usable. We like a desk in the alcove that lets you sit and write, plus see the view.
The swimming pool is our biggest complaint and the only reason for not awarding the fifth star. Too shallow and not above 85 degrees in January and February.
Swim therapy needs about 5.5 feet depth. We keep our pool at home at 87 using a heat pump from mid- April to early November and have a retractable solar cover to avoid heat loss at night.
Space is restricted at Kahana Village, but a 60' X 40' rectangular heated pool with a sloping "beach" along 30' of the wide, mauka, side. Kids love this. We have seen this in Florida and the Gulf Shore. The cover is the key, saves heat and cleaning. -

We did start out in unit #29 from Feb 1-13, a corner unit, which was nice and a beautiful view from all sides. We then moved to unit #28 the remander of Feb which had updates and more stocked and cozy. Both were very nice. We loved the smallness of the complex. Not the large large hotel/resort with hundreds of people. This seemed more sucluded and privite. We really enjoyed the Mai Tai Wednesday evenings with you got to meet more people from all parts of the world and share infomation on attractions. We felt it close enough to get to where we wanted to see or do. We were constantly entertained by the whales every morning or evening sitting on the balcony. We were also amazed by the beautiful sunsets every night. We golfed. Went to the islands of Lani, Malakai, & Pearl Harbor. Road to Hana, submarine ride, luau, shopped Front St, visited many beaches and just explored the island. We were here 14yrs ago for only a week. But we stayed a whole month and got to see just about everything I think. I'm sure there are things we missed. I guess we will just have to return to find out what we missed!

Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Aloha! The staff provided excellent customer service throughout the entire process.
The village was easy to locate with easy parking.
The condo was clean, a perfect size for 4 adults, had great amenities with all kitchen supplies provided, all beach essentials provided, and the most spectacular view from the spacious lenai. What a great way to wake up every morning to read the paper and have coffee! The only challenge with unit 28 was the lack of a true shower up stairs and the "knee knocker" board around the bed in the loft. The many fans located throughout the unit were a blessing.
The pool/BBQ area was enjoyable with a hospitable mai tai party on Wednesday complete with delicious snacks and meeting interesting tenants.
I would definitely recommend Kahana Village to anyone and have already.
Mahalo for a wonderful experience!

Left on 05/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Kahana Village is the best condo on Maui! The management of the property and the office staff are both friendly and accommodating and always responsive to any requests. The complex is excellently maintained from the units to the landscaping and right on the beach with a fabulous view of Lanai and Molokai. Kahana Village also has some great amenities, pool, hot tub, grills, beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and nice coolers along with mid-week maid service and a Mai Tai party for the guests. The town of Kahana (only 7 miles from Lahaina) is away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy locations and gives the feel of living as a local.
We have stayed at Kahana Village 3 times and each time has been a delight. We specifically love the loft bedroom. A great breeze and sounds of the ocean lull you to sleep every night.
However, this time we stayed in unit 28 and it was our least favorite. Some nice furnishings, but the loft had a four poster bed with canopy. There were "running boards" on all sides of the bed which made it impossible to get in or out of bed easily. We commonly referred to it as the "shin breaker". Actually very dangerous for younger or older renters. Also, it took up the entire loft space which left no room for a dresser.
The loft bathroom had no shower which meant we had to use the downstairs bath/shower. Fortunately on this trip there were only the two of us which made it possible.
And lastly, there was a chair sculpture we called "the stump" in what was termed the reading room. There is no possible way to sit in this thing and it is taking up what is possibly the best space in the unit. A nice little writing desk and chair would be fabulous as the space has a spectacular view of the ocean right beside the open louvered windows.
The unit was clean and well stocked and all of the things we mentioned concerning unit 28 are cosmetic and could easily be changed. -

After the sunami Kona Villiage shut down and we had to find a new place. Kahana Villiage filled the void it's on the water, there are only 41 units, 7 miles to Lahaina, units are clean and will maintained, and the management group was great.

Unit 28 at Kahana Village has everything you would need for a great Maui vacation. The small family feel of the complex combined with a breathtaking view of the ocean was unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and book a unit at Kahana Village and avoid the mega hotels and timeshares of Kaanapali.

This is our 4th visit to Kahana Village in as many years. This trip we spent 2 weeks in unit #28 which is a premium 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. We've spent time in #29 and #27 as well. To date, this is probably our favorite. The downstairs bathroom is beautiful. The kitchen as great counters and cabinets. The living room is super comfortable. Oh yeah: There's a jacuzzi tub upstairs!
As always, the team at Kahana Village (Vickie, Harmony and Curtis) is outstanding. The Mai Tai parties are a blast and a great way to meet people from around the world.
Whale watching from the lanai was a great gig while having coffee in the mornings. You should do yourself a favor: If you haven't been to the island during the middle of whale season, you really should. The creatures send "chicken skin" down your spine when you see them breach offshore. Other than being on a whale watching excursion, there is no better place to see them than on a lanai at Kahana Village. Thanks again for a great trip! -

I was a bit squrmish seeing the geckos inside the condo, not comfortable sleeping at night between the geckos and no air conditioning. Loved waking up to the waves, couldn't ask for a better location. No shower in the upstairs bathroom, family had to share the downstairs shower. Kitchen had every gadget you needed! Staff on site was very nice alittle dissappointed when asked for recommendations, didn't offer much insight. I would recommend this property just maybe another unit that had a shower upstairs.

We could not have asked for a more spectacular view! The sea turtles playing around the rocks very fun to watch. The unit itself was in a great location within the complex. The complex location is a little farther out if you are looking to be in the "thick" of things. It's a peaceful, serene area, perfect for relaxation!

Where can I begin?!! Our stay at Kahana Village this past June was glorious, relaxing, peaceful and as close to paradise as we could have imagined! Our balcony seemed to be directly over the ocean; hence we could hear the marvelous ocean sounds 24/7. Each evening we would watch the spectacular sunsets between the twin islands of Molokai and Lanai. The units were wonderfully refurbished and tastefully stocked. It truly was as though we had our own private small home or townhouse, noticeably without the frenetic pace and noise of a huge highrise hotel. I definitely hope that this little "gem" of a resort will remain totally "as is" - it is absolutely "one of a kind". (Perhaps the only drawback is that the pool is no deeper than 3 ft. in all areas!) Would I return there? - In a heartbeat!! Maren and Family

I am very impressed with the office folks in particulat Harmony.
Great communications.
The home is nice and a perfect location.
I would suggest (prefer) that the bed covers be replaced with duvet's wrapped in sheets.
The covers are very old and likely not often washed.
Most hotels are abandoning these covers.
We look forward coming back soon and MAHALO to the office staff. -

My husband's parents, my husband and I shared this lovely ocean-front condo on Maui. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything needed for entertaining and dining in. We spent lots of time on the ocean-front lanai. There is a lot of furniture on the lanai, and it gets hot with the western exposure. The sun screens are a great help during the heat of the day.
The condo is tastefully decorated and well-furnished. The bed upstairs is a tad firm, and some of the appliances need to be upgraded or repaired. I was very impressed that all soaps and paper products were provided. The mid-week maid service was also a nice touch.
The management service is excellent, as is the Mai Tai party on Wednesday. The complex is beautifully landscaped. The pool is only 3 feet deep, but the hot tub is an added bonus. What a great way to enjoy viewing the stars! Much of the beach is rocky and snorkelling is not great, but the water is swimmable. Snorkelling gear can be rinsed at the poolside outdoor showers. Noise was never a problem at the Kahana Village, other than the birds chirping at dawn.
If you stay here, bring your binoculars and get the Mai Tai recipe from the office. It really is worth buying all the ingredients and serving up Mai Tais and pupus as you watch the sun dip into the ocean! -

Two couples spent 12 nights in unit #28. The condo is well appointed. It has been recently updated--granite countertops, stainless appliances, etc. The condo is convenient to grocery stores & a couple of different places to eat. The absolute best thing is the proximity to the ocean. You are literally feet away. The only thing I didn't care for is the bed in the loft--not the mattress but the frame--it has this strange ledge that extends out from all sides that make it difficult to get in & out of. The mgmt staff at Kahana are friendly, responsive & eagerly await to assist you. We had a plumbing issue & a dryer issue & there was absolutely no delay whatsoever in their dealing with it.

The stay was quite delightful, even though we only had a couple of nights to enjoy this romantic getaway. Everything was as seamless as possible with our pleasant and accomodating hosts, including late check-in.
It was lovely being this close to the ocean and having the beautiful sunsets over Lanai right over the patio. The accomodations were very nicely decorated and everything we needed was provided. The beautiful canopy bed and jacuzzi tub upstairs was enticing. but just a little warm the first night. Very much like the upgrades in the kitchen and tile floor. The sofa could use an upgrade, but it is still not bad.
Overall, this was a very pleasant, comfortable, romantic, beautiful, and quiet 2 day getaway. Would we do it again? Definitely - hopefully soon!

The Resort is had everything we could ask for: Great location with it's own beach, spacious and Clean Condo, friendly staff. Saw turtles everyday from our lanai! This facility was exceptional to deal with and answered all questions I had. The unit we rented was extremely nice and view was awesome. Only thing I'd suggest is that the sofa bed be updated, as we did have six people and this mattress seemed to be old and lumpy, which made it very uncomfortable.

We usually stay at another resort nearby. I was quite apprehensive about making a change. However, it was a great decision and we were delighted with the condo. It was very well equiped enabling us to enjoy several wonderful meals "at home" and watch the sunset.
It was especially nice not to have to make a quick run to the grocery store to pick up basic items as soon as we arrived.
The location was perfect, steps from the beach. I loved having the large bath tub upstairs and having the time to enjoy it. We decided against another unit at Kahana because it had two showers and no bath tub. Having the option of both was a plus for us.
We will definitely be back to Kahana village and unit 28.

Kahana Village is absolutely wonderful. If we are ever lucky enough to travel back Maui, we would definitely stay with them again. Number 28 was lovely with a gorgeous view. This unit was a two bedroom with the second bedroom in the loft area and another bath. It would have been nice to have a shower in that second bath but it really was no big deal.
