      Great place to stay

Left on 12/31/2012 for a stay in December 2012

The condo was well set up for our stay with all of the essentials for setting up "house", including beach chairs and boogie boards. Very clean and great people on the site. We really enjoyed the outdoor common lanai with Bbqs right at the beach. The Beach is perfectly fine for swimming, but great beaches for snorkeling and surfing are close by.

The decor was somewhat dated. We would have preferred less clutter and hard surface floors. Also, we could have used a very small cooler to take cold drinks and food with us on outings. The only cooler was a very large wheeled unit that we couldn't fit in our car.

      A fantastic experience

Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012

      Aloha;
This was our 25th trip to the islands. Never have we had such a wonderful experience with our accomadations. the staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. A special thank you to Curtis the village manager. He was friendly and a fountain of information on what to do while we were on the island. on the last day of our vacation we had to change our flight time home. the flight did not depart until 9:oo pm which left us with about nine hours to basically do nothing. I asked Curtis if we could possibly stay in our condo for a few hours more than the regular check out time. Curtis let us stay in another unit until it was time to head for the airport.I could not believe his kindness. we went swimming and enjoyed the village pool area for another few hours. We loved the condo and the beautiful ocean view from our balcony. everything at the village was a wonderful experience. We told Curtis that we will probably contact him next may to reserve one of the village units again. we will be bringing two other couples with us. they were all excited to see the photos of the Kahana Village.
Once again we had a wonderful time and we cannot wait to get back to the village.

      Regards Walt & Angie Leedle

Nice Property, Above average Overall Satisfaction, Well Managed

Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Overall satisfaction> still above average in spite of some meaningful issues of complaint.

Meaningful issues> 1)ant problem in kitchen area upon arrival. Ant traps provided by office were completely ineffective and the problem remained a constant issue. Spray or treatment for ants is needed. 2)noise due to proximity to street & parking was disappointing & interrupted our restfulness.

Tremendous courtesy & professionalism> We had a late night flight departure, and my family was greatly appreciative of management's accommodation for a late check-out.

We very much enjoyed our stay in unit #39. It was ell equipped and we were awestruck from the moment we entered the unit and saw the breathtaking view. Our only complaint would be that the bathrooms and kitchen need updating, but both wer completely functional. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

If you checked in by use at a marriage ceremony, the present and the card are put on the room and it has been moved very much deeply.

Consideration was glad to be very much surprised that the banana was placed out of the door in the morning.

I enjoyed my stay much more when I moved to Ocean Front Prime

Left on 09/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Kahana Village was exactly what I was looking for: small, nicely landscaped, ocean and beach front, and relatively upscale units. The first unit I stayed in backed the parking lot and was not far from the road, so I could hear traffic noise from my bedroom and could not keep the window open. Not only do I prefer to hear the ocean, but air circulation was thereby lifted. When I was able to move to an Ocean Front Prime unit, that problem was eliminated. Also because of the way the units are constructed, you can hear conversations in the next door unit through bathroom and kitchen windows. Both units were well-provisioned with kitchen utensils and other items (iron, beach chairs, etc.). I loved having a washer-dryer in the unit. Some of the pillows in each unit were in poor condition and the rug in one of the units was old, substandard (shag!) and in need of cleaning.

The grounds are impeccably kept and gorgeous and everyone is so friendly and ready to help in any way! Our unit was immaculate and the periodic housekeeping service was a wonderful ammenity not often enjoyed in condo rentals! We enjoyed our stay in Kahana Village Number 39

Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in August 2011

This unit had a more private setting than some of the other units as it was set away from the pool a bit. We enjoyed the available space and the people managing the units are very nice and helpful. There were only two downsides. The sleeper under the stairs was not very comfortable for my teenage kids and we had some ants that came into the unit. I think that the management will get the ants under control pretty easily but if I were to go back I would pick a differnt unit due to the sleeper.Very few of the units here are air conditioned but the cool breeze eliminated this as a problem for us. We would go back to Kahana any time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of Kahana Village, from check in to departure. The staff were so kind, wonderfully interactive, and helpful regarding places outside of Kahana Village. The condition of everything at kahana Village from condo to pool to beach front was spectacular. It was easy to relax, and the accommodation was first rate, modern, open, breezy, and just plain relaxing.

      Perfect view

Left on 06/10/2010 for a stay in May 2010

This is the second time our family has stayed at Kahana Village and once again we enjoyed our visit. The view of the beach, ocean, & island are as good as they get in our opinion! The units are comfortable and fairly rated based upon the interior updates, decorating, and furnishings. We tend to be fairly self-sufficient and prefer our privacy, which the staff respected. When we did seek help or consultation; they were all courteous, friendly, and helpful. The common amenities; which include the sand beach, pool, hot tub, cabana, and grills were enjoyed by our family. The landscaping is lush and well maintained. We have no hesitiation to stay at Kahana Village again. The only consideration other guests should keep in mind is how often during your stay do you plan to travel South of Lahiana. Route 30 is always busy and if you are traveling daily to the Southern portion of the island, it can be tiresome.

      Kahana Village, great for us!

Left on 04/17/2010 for a stay in April 2010

We hadn't been to Maui before, so I asked a buddy whose family has been going for several years where to stay. He mentioned they have been gradually migrating North and have settled on the Napili area. Based on that, we started looking in the area between Kaanapali and Napili for a 2 bedroom for our family of 4 (2 early teens & us). After surfing numerous web sites, we stumbled onto Kahana Village. First of all, this was one of the best web sites I've ever seen. We were really able to get a feel for the place from the very well layed-out web site. From that we were able to easily determine that this place was for us. We're experienced travellers, having done self-managed and all-inclusives throught the US and Mexico. We were looking for ocean-front/view, our own space, a complex of some type (vs. stand alone house), low-rise. This place (Kahana Village) and unit #39 in particular fit the bill very well.

We had the best of both worlds. It was fairly private - we sat on the lanai with a great view of Molakai, and enjoyed coffee or wine in relative privacy, but were still able to enjoy the group area for barbecuing or hot tubbing. Met great folks from Edmonton, Michigan, Vegas, Montana and got great day-tripping tips. We had lots of space. Kids used the beds in the loft and we had our own BR. Kitchen and bathrooms etc. were all fine.

Kahana will have a unit that makes sense for you. Had we gone there a few years back, we likely would have chosed a unit overlooking the pool to let us keep tabs on the kids better, but at this stage, we liked the quiet over at #39.

Staff is beyond excellent - just no hassles at any time for us. As for the ultimate test... yes, we'll plan to go back. Considering trying a (extended) family get away next winter. A 3 BR for Granny & one family and a 2BR above it for our family would hit the mark well! Enjoy your stay at Kahana. Mahalo Kahana!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kahana Village. The condo was spacious, well laid out and very clean. The staff were excellent...friendly, helpful and hospitable. The grounds were very well manicured and the pool was in excellent condition. We had the feeling that the staff really cared that we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The Wednesday evening socials gave us a chance to meet the other guests and everyone appreciated them. Hats off to Vicki and her staff for their efforts!Kahana Village is a definite "place to stay" in our books..we would highly recommend it to everyone.

It is a very beautiful property with very helpful and friendly staff. Too long of a walk to

      Awesome view and good times!

Left on 10/09/2009 for a stay in September 2009

I don't really think I can say anything bad! The service was great, the welcome was so friendly it didn't seem like it was our first time there. The pool and hot tub was always clean. The condo was great, we loved the view, wonderful sunsets. It had all the necessities of home. Location was great, not really far from anything you wanted to do and any drive was just another way to see the scenery. Maybe the best thing was being able to just walk out on our beach and see the turtles. The least liked thing would probably be no air conditioning. Just not that use to it being that warm at night time, but the bright side of that was by about 4am it cooled down. My experience in one word "GREAT". Ready to come back.

      Pleasant Stay in Unit #39

Left on 08/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Kahana Village is in a quiet area, with good vehicle access to stores, restaurants, Kaanapali and Lahaina. The grounds are well-tended and landscaped nicely. There are 4 clean barbecues with tables, a pool, a narrow beach, and a lawn area with benches and chaise lounges to view the sunset. The pool area has plenty of chairs and tables, but the pool itself is small and shallow. It was fine for my small kids but anyone seeking a major pool experience will be disappointed.

We stayed 8 nights in this unit which has a bedroom on the main floor, a loft with 2 twin beds, and another twin bed under the stairs on the main floor. It suited our family of 5 (3 kids) just fine. The 2 bathrooms are clean, updated, and bright. Ceiling fans and reasonable air flow kept the unit comfortable. The lanai is large with a great view, and the kitchen is clean and well-equipped. The staff at the front desk is excellent--very helpful and they pay attention to the details.

There are 2 issues with this particular unit--one correctable and one not. The TV in the main bedroom is too small--about the size of a computer monitor. A larger TV would make a great low cost addition to the unit. The tougher issue is that the bedroom window is facing the street. For light sleepers like me, this is definitely an issue. The pre-6AM sunrise means island activity starts very early and the noise from the road can give you an unwelcome wakeup call. The property's sprinklers also seem to run in the middle of the night which are clearly heard from the bedroom. Remember that with no A/C, leaving the windows wide open is a must for keeping the room cool.

All in all I would say this is a very good property and it made for a pleasant stay, but as with any accommodation, make sure you know what attributes are most important to you, and make sure those needs will be satisfied by your choice of unit.

      Paradise!

Left on 05/24/2009 for a stay in March 2009

We spent 5 days at Kahana Village. The accommodations were exactly what we pictured from the website. The view was gorgeous, the property was quiet and unit #39 couldn't have been better: it was spacious, stocked perfectly and very comfortable for a family of 4. There was a binder of useful information in the unit including restaurants, activities and more. The staff was gracious and helpful and the Wednesday night Mai Tai party was fun and a nice way to meet other guests. The only downside was the lack of a swimming beach (the beach area did not invite us to take a swim then relax.) We solved this problem by visiting very nice beaches just up the road at Napili. My advice is to rent bikes so you can ride to the beach and not worry about parking, as that can be a problem. Also, you can ride bikes in the opposite direction on Lower Honoapiilani Rd. (toward Lahaina) and arrive at stores and restaurants and some days a small farmer's market. I would stay at Kahana Village again in an instant.
