Mesa, AZ, United StatesFabulous Stay in Turtle Bay!!
Left on 04/30/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We completely enjoyed our Condo at the Estates at Turtle Bay!! And would stay there again! But I know that people reading this review are looking for more details so here is the Pros and Cons.
Pros: Condo was just as pictured. Easy to pick up keys and easy to find. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived (even though we did walk in on the cleaning guy - he was very kind) and everything worked (washer/dryer, refrigerater, air conditioners)and we really enjoyed staying along side the golf course and the patio was nice and comfortable. The restaurants at the resort were so nice and the restaurant at the club house is a short walk away so it made it so nice to just walk up and have a drink or dinner. The condo is right between two nice areas so shopping is either right or left out of the resort and the groceries aren't near as expensive as we thought they'd be.
Cons: Not many..there were a few ants on the counters in the kitchen, but to me it was expected, we've traveled quite a bit and around water are ants; there were no paper towels (a minor inconvenience)as promised in the ad; the bed was not very comfortable, just felt older and my husband and I rolled into the center of the bed often, but we just laughed; yes it can be a bit noisy when the neighbors come home early or leave early for an early tee time, but your on the golf course for heavens sake, it should be expected; the adult pool was closed most of the time we were there for maintenance, but no biggie - we were there for the beach not a pool.
We loved it and would be happy to stay here again! -

We had a great experience. Could never get the wifi to work - even when we called and they gave us passwords to other units. Only thing we were missing was a cookie sheet which we borrowed from a neighbor. Great location - great condo! Thanks

Left on 01/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The mattress was awful. Sore back every morning. Wife slept on the
coach it was so bad.
The place was not definitely not clean. They only spot clean and of course
my allergies to dust were triggered.
It could be a very nice unit if some money and care were put into it.
The TV does not work ie volume and guide.
The pillows bedding and the towels were past due to replace. -

The bed needed replacing, it was very saggy and uncomfortable.
Otherwise the only problem was that the wi fi internet didnt work for the majority of our stay.
I would suggest a small table on the patio
The kitchen was well stocked and a pleasure to cook in. -

The kitchen faucet was kind of messed up, and I kept getting the neighbors after me for parking in the wrong parking spot(most all of the number painted in the lot are gone). Other than that, it was a great place to spend the week!

Love the resort, the location, the access to local attractions such as Hale'iwa, etc.. My only negative comment is about the bed. The sheets were stained, the pillow cases and pillows were stained and smelled of mildew. When traveling to Hawai'i and staying in such a fine resort, one expects to walk into a clean and bright unit. The lighting left something to be desired. It was a bit dark and subdued. Lastly, the pull out sofa needs a new mattress. My 6 yr old even complained about the coils/springs poking her in the back. Nobody sends that kind of money and expects sub standard quarters. Please, pay attention to details. The reputation of Turtle Bay deserves better than what we were offered.

The unit we stayed in was GREAT. Our son and daughter-in-law reserved a unit that was FILTHY when they arrived and the property manager was NO HELP. Also, my sister-in-law had to move to another unit as their condo was NOT acceptable when they arrived.

Pluses - VERY well maintained (and nicely updated) property. The two of us were very comfortable and liked that we had a modern kitchen to use! Minuses - garbage trucks at 6:30am, outside lights shined through the curtains. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

Riverton, UTNo central air can be difficult
Left on 09/30/2009 for a stay in September 2009
The place is generally pretty good with the recent upgrades but it's still an older condo built without central air conditioning and it's impossible to keep the little bugs out. The swamp cooler does fine for the bedroom but when we showed up the place was really hot and humid. Unbearable for us. By morning the swamp cooler had cooled things off enough but it was too late to save the first night which was very uncomfortable where we're not use to such a hot muggy environment. There are little ants (as there are in all older condos like this) and we had a HUGE cockroach in our bedroom one day. The upgrades to the furnishings are nice but we could not find a good flat pan for pancakes. It's probably a better place to be during the winter season where the heat and humidity wouldn't be a problem.

None of the condos have central air conditioning, and the window units cool sufficiently for most people. Insects are common in the tropics, and guests are told to call our office should they be excessive.

Left on 09/15/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Add a ramp to get to properties, i have a bad back and can not lift my suitcase on the many stairs it took to get from the parking lot to the door and it was a 1st floor condo.

Left on 07/30/2008 for a stay in July 2008
The apartment was spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. The location is less than 100 yards from the starter's office at the golf course - which is perfect if you are a golfer. At half the price of the resort, you can't go wrong with this condo.

Wrightsville Beach, NCKelsey G.'s review of Turtle Bay 025 West ***
Left on 04/11/2008 for a stay in December 2007
There were problems with the key at first, had to get it switched. There was something wrong with the showerhead...I can't quite remember what. Also, there was no complimentary lil bottles of shampoo or conditioner. It was a nice place, safe, and quiet. But, I would have preferred a grungier place with a more authentic cultural feel. Then again, we probably would have gotten beefed because we were howlies. And that place definatley wouldn't have had conditioner! hahaha. Any, it was nice...I had a great vacation.
