Left on 06/13/2013 for a stay in June 2013
We really enjoyed our stay at the condo, but there are a few things that could have been fixed up to make it even more enjoyable. The window in the loft didn't close and the screen was held onto the window with duct tape so a lot of bugs came in. The window shade didn't close either, which made for early mornings. Also, there are a few things that could be done to make the place seem a little more updated. The baseboards look like they have been removed and the paint was shoddy. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the amenities like a coffee pot and the beach equipment.

We stayed on the north shore after staying in Koalina at the Marriott vacation club, which was fantastic. This place was a lot less expensive and had no view or beach. We chose it to save money but it felt rather sad and dreary after being right on the beach at a resort. We tried to spend as little time as possible in the unit and used the money we saved on eating out instead. There was nothing wrong with the place and if you are looking for an affordable place to stay that is quiet then this is your place.

I really love this place, very beautiful, very clean and comfortable to stay. On the way from airport to the place, it is also good view for the ocean. It is a good choice to stay here when you are traveling to Honolulu.

We had a great time at the condo. There were a few issues we had. The first was in the master bedroom it was hard to sleep because of the lights outside. Even though we had the curtains closed the light still came in and the room really never got dark. The other was we had an extra friend show up a "Geko or Lizard". First on the kitchen counter and the other by the window. It just surprised me. We didn't anticipate having high surf warnings all week so we didn't get to enjoy the water as much as we would like. The boogie board didn't have a strap. Over all it was a good trip with our two sons.
Thanks -

United StatesTurtle Bay 32W needs some maintenance
Left on 03/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Overall the unit was clean and comfortable. The towels and bedding were clean and enough were provided, but there is some wear and fraying in evidence. Although the unit is clearly set up for 4 (or more) there is not enough cutlery, glasses or dinnerwear to have two meals without running the dishwasher. There are only 3 very uncomfortable high chairs on the lanai. Some missing items were reported to the management company on our second day with no response.
During our stay the resident manager closed the pool area for maintenance with little warning. We had planned to BBQ that night so had to go across the complex to another BBQ that was not so convenient. The briquet BBQ are fine, but there is no adjustments to move the grill closer or farther from the heat. Suggest that Gas BBQs be provided.
We were provided with an access code for our first entry to the complex ... but it was the wrong one and didn't work. Fortunately another guest was there to provide access and the correct code. We were given only one gate card, even though I asked for a second since we were two parties with two vehicles. The office response was "guess you'll have to figure it out". Fortunately the gate code we received from the other guest worked all week and we did not actually need a gate card at all.
Upstairs bathroom was smelly of mold and wetness. Main bathroom fan was very noisy and could not be turned on separately from the light. Master bedroom ceiling light could not be turned on, ceiling fan could not be adjusted for speed.
Living room ceiling fan was missing the globe and so the bare non matching (incandescent and fluorescent) light bulbs were all that you saw!
Kitchen cupboards all need a bit of WD40 and adjustments to stop the squeaky hinges. -

I really love this property. I stayed for four nights with my family. It is wonderful, although the property manager does not always like guests to call, but he/she replied my email quickly. The instructions are clear and I had no problem.
The room is very clean and I can find dryer and washer in the room. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

We enjoyed staying on the North Shore. We utilized the kitchen and saved a lot of money! We also used the beach chairs, boogie board, snorkel gear and cooler which made our visits to the beach more enjoyable. The only suggestions I would make to the owner is to upgrade the tv, especially the one in the master bedroom. Also the master bedroom pillows were uncomfortable; one too thick and one too flat. I had a sore neck every morning! Other than that, we enjoyed the place and would stay there again!

Left on 12/19/2012 for a stay in December 2012
Nice layout of this 2nd floor condo. Fairly clean. In the bathroom, the shower curtain was ?soiled/stained along the bottom-I suggest a new shower curtain. Also there was a dark blackish ring around the base of the toilet-it did not look sanitary. The tub was slightly stained & the ceiling had plaster "patch work" done on it. There was numerous tiny little "ant-like" bugs in the bathroom & a some in the kitchen. The exterminators were to come the day after we arrived, but did not show, so we tolerated the bugs for the week. There were dead bugs behind the glass, on the picture hanging above the toilet. The ceiling fans had a build up of dust on them. There were dust bunnies clinging to the wall in the kitchen that we assume, were from the fan. The bed was comfortable-we did not use the sofa bed or the upstairs(neither beds or bathroom). Sleeps 6 comfortably, I would say. Kitchen was well equipped-had everything we needed & more. There was an ice machine in the fridge, dishwasher, microwave, stove. The information emailed to us from the Estates at Turtle Bay stated that there were no beach towels, & only enough dish soap, toilet tissue, etc. to last a few days. There was everything in the condo.-towels, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, toilet tissue. I suggest you check out the condo, first, before you buy any supplies. Location on the property was good-could easily walk to the beach or to the few restaurants in the area. The eating places were a bit on the "pricey" side, we found, but otherwise would have had to drive a few miles to find a more reasonably priced eating place. There was no grocery store or convenience near by-3 1/2 miles was the closest place that we found-not very handy. This unit #32 was right outside the first pool, so that was great. The grounds were beautiful & well maintained. The lanai overlooked the golf course. Generally it was a very nice unit-just needs a few upgrades(bathroom), an exterminator & a thorough cleaning throughout.

This is our second stay at the Turtle Bay condos. The location, beauty, and calm of the North Shore is a great way to start and enjoy your vacation. We found several great beaches and dining places within short distance and the locals were very very friendly. Condo was very clean overall but needed a few maintenance/cleaning issues. Upstairs bathroom: 1. shower hot water leaks making the bathroom stuffy. 2. Toilet roll holder about to fall off (left side. 3. The bottom of the shower curtain has black mold.

Wonderful place to stay especially if you like golf, quiet and comfort. We loved the loft for the kids and all the conveniences of Turtle Bay. The pool was literally right outside the door. The master bedroom mattress was very comfortable. Only negatives, we missed the ocean view that we enjoyed on our previous visit to Oahu and there were ants in the kitchen and downstairs bathroom (very common in Hawaii).

The check in and check out procedures were inconveniently located. The upstairs bath is a joke (I had to get on my knees in order to shave without bending over). The closest pool was reserved several days for adults only. The radio did not work.

We had a fun time...the unit was well equipped in the kitchen. It's near the pool and the tennis courts. The free Wi-Fi was great. The shower is kind of tight in the loft. There is no sofabed in the living room so we tried to pump up the aerobed (extra bed) and the pump did not work. Other than that, we loved the unit.

Great condo with lots of unadvertised "extras" (beach towels, body boards). We checked in on a Sunday and it went like clockwork picking up the keys from the security guard. My only caveat is that the loft bathroom shower and sink is not really usable by most adults or teenagers -- you need to be under 5' and even then the shower head is low.

The condo was generally fine for our 2 night stay, but it needed a thorough cleaning. It had tons of tiny ants. The top of the fridge was grimy. The fan blades and ceiling vents looked like they hadn't been dusted in ages. The property was pretty well worn down. It wasn't the worst place we'd stayed, but it certainly wasn't anywhere near the best. I'm glad we weren't staying any longer than we did.

For the price this condo is in a fantastic location and perfect set-up for a family of four (kids 5 and 8 yrs) but could use some updating/sprucing up. Screen door to the deck was always coming off the track, seating on deck very uncomfortable for enjoying time out there, master bedroom could use some drapes that keep out street lights and morning sun BUT we were there mostly just to sleep and the beach supplies were great for our kids. We had an amazing vacation with the location, layout of the unit but it could use a little TLC.

this particular unit has everything you need. We were able used the boogie boards and the surfboard and beach chairs. Also, it has several beach towels, although we brought our own. We would have used the beach towels in the unit if we knew they were there to save the room in our luggage. Also, the next door neighbors are very nice and actually live there. Excellent choice of units.

We like the location and the furnishings very much.
The clothes washing machine was broken and could not get repaired during our stay.
We wanted to stay 3 nights but management couldn't get housekeeping to turn the condo around the same day so we only stayed 2 nights. Seems like there could be more efficiency in that regard especially since there are a large number of units managed there. -

I would have liked a little more counter space in the bathroom and better lighting. The upstairs was perfect for my younger kids, but adults should know that you have to "duck" to get into the bathroom. Once in you, are okay. Still, this is one of the nicest units I have stayed in.

overall a great property. Owners have it well equipped for the beach and extra bedding. The only problems we had were that the phone did not work and the dishwasher detergent dispenser would not open during a washing cycle. We didn't contact anyone about these issues as we managed anyways.
