Carpinteria, CA, United StatesYou can do better than this unit.
Left on 05/20/2013 for a stay in May 2013
My main grievance regarding this rental was the AC unit in the downstairs bedroom. Even turned off, it gave off a bad moldy smell, & running- I thought, wow, this cannot be good for us to breathe - plus, it just reeked. We let it run awhile to be sure it wasn't temporary-(it did not get better) in fact, we became aware that this AC unit made a very loud rhythmic noise that nobody could sleep through. No overhead fan in this bedroom- the unit next door had one. If it was hot we would have had to change condos. The sofa is miserable for backs too. Don't rent this unless you hate the people that will get the downstairs bedroom. (No fan in the loft area, or we would have slept there- the AC even stunk turned off).hope we come home without a fungal pulmonary disease.

We loved staying at your place. It was clean, convenient, and had great facilities to use. We did have a few ants in the kitchen, but they were gone after we put out some ant bait which was in the closet. Thanks.

Left on 03/31/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Located on the North Shore......that says it all in regards to location. The unit itself wasn't a 5 star resort type place but we didn't expect that condition. I guess it just depends on your individual expectations......enough said:)

Honolulu, Hi, United StatesTurtle Bay Estates Unit 098 West
Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our stay at Turtle Bay was very enjoyable and we would like to go back for a return stay. The only problem that we had with the unit was the wireless internet. We were not able to access the wireless internet. This was a problem as we were planning to complete some work while on vacation. Better communication regarding the wireless internet should be given at the time of reserving the unit and if passwords are required they should be given at the time the codes to the gate and front door are given.

The Condo space was very comfortable for the four of us. We loved going out on the lanai for morning coffee and feeling the warm breeze and watching the different Doves, Mynahs, Finches and Cardinals. ( We do miss the chickens...even if they crowed at 2 AM!). Since we have most meals at home, there were enough kitchen items to make our meals. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Honolulu, HI, United StatesGreat Property with a Couple of Tweaks
Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We were a group (4 adults +2 kids) attending a family wedding at Turtle Bay. We had a great time overall and the location was very convenient. We were disappointed with a couple of things -the unit was a little tired with no wineglasses(!), intermittent wifi access, and lack of blow drier. After a couple of days we had to go out and buy toilet paper and cleaning products. Having stayed in other units on this property and other VRBO listings I think that future guests would appreciate an improvement in these areas. The tropical breezes were great and the air circulates through the unit without having to use the air conditioner. Loved the new tile in the ground floor bedroom and the whitewashed ceilings.

Left on 01/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Pool was closed and locked for two days, for chemical work. In Florida, we do that work at night, to not interrupt pool use. It was even padlocked, we could not even sit around the pool.

Condo is nicely furnished and kitchen is well supplied. Very clean upon check in. Location very close to the pool, which worked great for us, but far from the beach. Main issue is with overall longer term maintenance. Air conditioners in the master bedroom is moldy and had an odd odor. I realize ants/roaches are everywhere in Hawaii, but this condo has a significant issue and is overrun. Once you bring food in or run the water all the bugs come out and they are every where in very large numbers. In the towels, couch, nightstands, floors, walls in every room. I suspect it's because the condo is not constantly occupied, so cleaning occurs only in prep for a rental. Don't get me wrong, the cleaning staff did a good job upon check in, but the bugs came out from everywhere once the condo is occupied. The infestation is more than traps and sprays can handle at this point. The condo is nicely furnished/decorated, but I would encourage the owner to spend some time there and see how to improve the overall long term maintenance. The owner and the property mgmt staff were very polite and professional and were receptive to feedback when we checked out. Very much appreciated.

Honolulu, Hawaii, United StatesKey return?
Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The only concern that I had was about returning the keys. We had a 8AM tee time and could not return the keys as required because the office opened at 8AM. Luckily the property manager took the keys although he was not required to. If there is a drop off box at the main office for off hours key return, it would have been nice to know. Otherwise we were very happy with the rental.

Left on 04/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Nice condo, uncomfortable couch needs to be replaced (no springs very noisy), nice pool area. Tiny nat-like bugs in condo, have to keep all food items in refrigerator. Hard to get in front gate, they only give you one card and there is never an attendant there to let you in so you have to make sure you have the card with you. Need to give a couple cards per unit. Nice area but far from shopping, restaurants etc. condo was clean.

Bainbridge Island, Wa, United StatesBacis are all you need on the North Shore
Left on 04/24/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We arrived late Saturday night so it was nice that the Property Manager had left the keys at the gaurd house for us and we didn't need to travel another 4 miles to their office. The unit is not large but offered a lot of sleeping area with the loft and two is your basic 70's two story condo and complex that has aged well. It is on the 3rd tee box of the course so it was nice to sit outside. It would be nice to have better outdoor furniture and four chairs so we could have dinner outside. The other thing you need to know is that the grills are not gas and are located out at the pool area.

na, na, United StatesNice roomy condo
Left on 04/22/2012 for a stay in April 2012
The condo was as described. Near the 3rd tee box of the Fazio Course of the Turtle Bay GC. Perect for a small family. While the furniture isn't new, it is comfortable and the kitchen is very funtional, which allows $ savings with meal preparation. Pools on property are nice. TV's are nice quality flat screens. We had few quibles; however there were a couple. First, the instructions said to pick up keys by 4 pm at mgmt company on day 1, we arrived at 3:58 pm and the office was closed. No huge problem as the security office had them later; however, we did rush and hurry which could have been avoided. Second, the pool chairs were all very hard plastic which wasn't very comfortable. Third, it's a shame the condos don't seem to have any type of recipricocity with the TB Resort. Given the location you'd think some type of arrangement could be reached with the Resort to be included in the TB Resort program (even if only minor) i.e. some type of Golf, food and/or beach discounts. My quibbles however are minor and we very much enjoyed the property.

This is a condo in need of updating and TLC. It is a graveyard for furniture so old that even if it was clean, it didn't look like it. The lanai furniture was so uncomfortable it couldn't be used, and kitchen was not well equipped. Horribly disappointing.

Aloha, from us all in Condo 98. We found our facility very comfortable, clean, provided - catered for and relaxing. The pool was always an exception to come home at the end of the day and the aircons sure kept us cool at night. If I am ever back in Oahu - Hawaii I would definately love to stay there again as we loved it SO MUCH. We would like to extend our greatest appreciation to the owners and caretakers of the Turtle Bay Condos and wish them all the best in the future. Guests are expected to be out of the condo promptly at 11 AM unless a later check-out is authorized. The cleaning crew needs to stay on schedule to prepare the condos for the next guests, especially when there is a check-in the same afternoon.

the property is ideally located for golf. The management was pleasant but the unit badly needs updating as the paint on walls and woodwork is very beaten up. The carpets are very dirty and need replacement.Comfortable patio furniture would have been nice. I would come back to the resort but a different unit.

The beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean and comfortable. The towels were musty and had to be re-washed before we could use them. Ants were rampant in the place and attacked our food, including our dry breakfast cereal. The living room drapes need to be replaced and the television was small but functioned. Overall, it was an okay place to stay

Left on 10/19/2010 for a stay in October 2010
The check-in was smooth, when we opened the doors the first thing that hits you is the cool breeze that runs through the unit, and the beautiful lush view of the golf course, I talked to the owner Keriann who was just a delight and her Property Manager Susan was very accommodating. The pool is in close proximate to the unit and the parking was close also... The furnishings were nice, maximizing the space, the height of the ceilings give the unit an open spacious feel-all in all it was a great but very short vacay!!! I would definitely book again... Thank YOU Keriann & Susan

The unit itself was OK. The housekeeper cam in the first full day and apologized for it not being as clean as she would like. That was a true statement. She said how the people before had left it a mess and she didn't have time. The bedspread in the downstairs room was dirty, She took it promising to bring it(one back) and never did. Although she said the sheet had been washed, it appeared they had not. The walls were marked and pretty dirty. The couch was stained and they appeared newer. I am not a really picky person, my mother who also came is. She wanted to complain at the time and would have left had it been possible. It made it uncomfortable. There is a large string from the upstairs bedroom carpet that has been pulled. I did not cut it or mess with it as I did not want to make it worse.
Aside from that, the unit was fine. The location to the pool great, the property was nice. I would consider returning. -

Honolulu, HIRepresentative For Units 98W, 103W, 014W, 092W & 111W
Left on 07/12/2008 for a stay in June 2008
I rented all the units under my name.
I received minor complaints but nothing
note worthy except one. We originally had unit 124 assign to us but ended with
unit 111 because unit 124 was not fully
cleaned and beds made, etc. One of our
group representative was at the unit to
inspect the unit and saw workers cleaning
the unit; for some reason abandon the
cleaning and left the unit incomplete. The people who were to occupy the unit
waited and waited. Finally they called
the office and on an emergency basis got
unit 111 for them. It was several hours
later that they got unit 111.
I currently have a request for a refund
because a 10% discount was not applied
to one unit. The 10% discount was applied
to four of the units but not on one unit.
The person who occupied the unit found
out when she returned the keys: one of the staff members told her about it. Since I passed on the rental charge to her without the discount she e-mailed me
and wanted the discount. I mailed a letter dated 6/27/2008 and have not receive a respond yet (7/12). I hope
they don't claim that they did not receive my request for a refund, because
when I first received my contract/invoice
I mailed it by dropping it off at the
Hawaii Kai Post Office. A couple weeks
later I received a call, that they did
not receive my contract/invoice. So I
made a copy and mailed it, certified.
If I don't receive a respond soon I'll
call the office. One suggestion, I like
to make: a phone number of a person above
the office manager of The Estate at Turtle Bay. -
