It was a very nice condo. Would love to own a property in this location because it is the best place to stay in Hawaii. Close to so many things but especially the nice beaches and big waves. Good food in the area with a wonderful and reasonable priced golf course.

Overall the property was good. Great location and really cool to see a different side of Hawaii compared to Waikiki etc...
Ants were a bit of an issue, if you left food out then they'd be on it in a flash. Not much to be done about that though I guess?
Downstairs toilet was broken (seal in the cistern) so that required putting your hand in to manually flush it which wasn't great - def something that should have been sorted, especially as the owner had been staying right before we arrived.
Pickup and drop off of key and access card was easy.
Would recommend condo for future travellers providing the above issues were sorted. -

Belano, MNDO YOU WANT ANTS IN YOUR BED??
Left on 11/21/2010 for a stay in November 2010
DO NOT STAY HERE! Very lovely, modern unit with great amenities except for the fact that the amenenities didn't work. The internet that was promised didn't work until the morning we left (1 week), the cable didn't work in the main room for 3 days and then they fixed that and the cable then went out in the other rooms the rest of the week. The biggest complaint is the ANTS!!! IN OUR BED! Ants were up and down the walls, in the bathrooms, in the toaster oven and in the BEDS! We did not use the unit much except for sleeping, we ate out for all of our meals so the ants were not from us, they were there the first day we got there. There were ant traps everywhere and were clearly not working. We had 2 young kids with us and we felt that this was unexceptable for them. We called the property manager about the ants and the amenities and she told us that there are no discounts unless the place is uninhabitable and she would rather have the bad review. I feel bad for the owner about the review, but the property manager made the call. The apartment is lovely and has a great location. If you choose this apt, make sure you get some sort of guarantee about the amenities and condition of the place.

everything was fine except for one thing. the ants were unbearable. I'm not sure I would want to stay again. Too many ants. The beds were kind of lumpy too. Other than that, good location, good pool, good kitchen, lots of hot water, lots of space. Take care of the ants and we would consider coming back.

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The decore, the cleanliness, the amount of dishes were more than enough for the 6 of us. The only hesitations I have is not having the central air conditioning verses the type in the window and the little ants that got into everything left out that was sweet. All we did was put everything in to ziplock bags. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Turtle Bay needs to spend more money on the ant problem and general up keep of the buildings and less on the golf courses.

As a first time renter, I would have asked more questions instead of just going by the information provided. Kitchen wasn't as well equipped as I had hoped. Loved the washer and dryer and the internet!!! It was quiet and relaxing. Easy to drive all around the north shore from location. 2 good grocery stores within 5 miles.

When we arrived the coffee machine was still full from the previous tenant with mould growing on it. There was also stale food left in the cupboards and the glasses and plates were in need of a clean. Not a great start.
Apart from that the condo was in a good position and was well equipped, just let down by the cleanliness. -

We had a great time here. The only comments I might make was that there was a problem with the upstair tub that should of been repaired before we arrived. The management was very helpful in making it usable to take a shower though. Also, a minor comment that wireless internet would have been nice to hook up the laptop. It did have a computer with internet access though so was not that big of a deal. Overall, a great place though.

Spruce Grove, Alberta, CanadaTurtle Bay Condo- nice location, poorly maintained condo
Left on 01/01/2010 for a stay in December 2009
It was very nice to stay on the North Shore but the condo left a lot to be desired. There was no one to be found when we showed up to pick up the keys, it took several hours to find the person with the keys. The condo location is quite nice and the general condition of the condo property is well maintained. The unit we rented however was a disappointment. Cleanlines was a concern, the cleaning staff needs to give these units a top to bottom cleaning once in a while. They ask that you remove your shoes in the unit, but when your feet turn black walking around inside you tend to want to put them back on. General maintenance and upkeep made the unit seem shabby, even though some recent upgrades were obvious. One of the AC units (window units) was not functioning properly and as a result the condo was quite stuffy especially when you did laundry, as the dryer vented INSIDE the condo. The major complaint I have with this property is the lack of pest control. I realize tropical locations have their share of bugs, but when you have an ant army travelling through the condo making there way to the kitchen, it gets old real quick. We planned to cook a few meals in the unit but this problem made it a real challenge. We could not leave anything on the counter for longer than several minutes or it would be infested with ants. We are not overly fussy people, but these concerns took the shine off our stay- 4 nights was plenty.

Left on 12/21/2009 for a stay in December 2009
this condo was in the perfect location. we previously stated at turtle bay hotel, and loved it. staying in the condo was a huge mistake. the bugs were unreal. they were everywhere, counters, drawers, walls. the airconditioning did not work, and the unit looked as though it had not been cleaned in awhile. Dust was everywhere the bedding smelled, just an all around terrible condo. we were left a bottle of raid when we contacted the maintance. For what we paid, I was very dissapointed. a feedback form was left, but no one ever got back to us. I feel if around the airconditioner was sealed, the rips in the screens were fixed, you maybe able to contain some of the bugs entering the condo. Great potential, but visitors really want a clean place to stay.

We had a fabulous stay at 111 West Turtle Bay. It was perfect for what we were looking for and had everything we needed. Everything was easy to find and to get too and the amenities were second to none. It was a wonderful way to spend our first visit to Hawaii and I cannot wait to come and visit again! I would definitely see if this place was available again! Thank you so much.

Left on 09/02/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Everything was fine once we got through the first night. We were disappointed to find no a/c in the loft where the kids were to sleep. No one could have slept there with no a/c. After the first night, they slept on a mattress on the floor of the master bedroom, which wasn't exactly what we planned, but it worked. Also, there were only two glasses, but they brought more when we asked. Otherwise, the unit was fine.

Left on 06/16/2009 for a stay in June 2009
The overall condition of the property, while acceptable, was not outstanding. The ceiling fan in the loft didn't work and when I called the manager on duty about the fan, when we arrived, she admitted "waiting for a part to arrive" to repair the fan. I was disappointed that my family's arrival was not sufficient need for something to have been done to eliminate the problem so I didn't have to be concerned when we arrived on Sunday evening. In her defense, the manager on duty did provide a floor fan for our use. There was at least one lamp in the living room that didn't work and there was no lighting at the front door. There was also a "signal" problem with the T.V. in the downstairs bedroom. All small things, however, if these small issues had not existed, our stay would have been nearly perfect!

Left on 12/03/2008 for a stay in November 2008
The condo was the cleanest one we've stayed in yet on the islands, and this is the 4th one we've stayed in so far. It's a great location if you want to get away from it all. Being right on the golf course makes up for not being right on the beach. We highly recommend the open air restaurant at the Turtle Bay Resort - the food and service were excellent. The only problem we came upon was that the dishwasher was broken the whole time we stayed there inspite of calling the property manager several times to see when it would be repaired. We were told that it would be fixed the next day, but the repair man never showed up in the whole 8 days we were there. There were ants, but they weren't that much of a problem and the TV that they advertise in the guest room isn't there, either, but who needs another TV when you're on vacation?

The a/c and Tv in the bedroom downstairs didn't work, and the freezer section of the fridge wasn't working all that well. The rest of the amenities were modern and nice. It was a very pleasant place to stay. However, if you're looking for the island experience where the beach is right outside your window, this isn't the place. It was a bit of walk to get to the beach. Just a few snags, but otherwise a very nice place to stay.

Left on 07/17/2008 for a stay in July 2008
Unit was well maintained and clean. Decor and furnishings are very modern but not very user friendly. Lighting in living room and bedrooms is pitiful, impossible to read at night. Only bedrooms are air conditioned so rest of Unit was hot during the day. Kitchen needs more and better dishware. Golf course view was nice. Location on north shore is great. Would return in spring or fall, but not in summer without air conditioning.

Left on 04/12/2008 for a stay in April 2008
The Golf Course decided to carve up a stump directly in front of the patio. The smell was so putrid we had to leave the condo for two days. We couldn't open up the windows to enjoy the trade winds - one of the highlights we look forward to. The manager tried to get someone at the golf course to respond, but they were generally unhelpful. Unfortunately, this really took away the joy of what we were looking for. It was stifling.
