Ocean Ridge is a mere five minutes drive from the centre of Kaikoura township, and is the newest residential eco' land development in Kaikoura. Kaikoura is fairly well spread out and Ocean Ridge is at the Southern Entrance. The Fairways overlooks the Kaikoura golf course and offers 360 degree panoramic views of the coastline and nearby mountains.
Off State Highway 1 turn into Ocean Ridge and the Fairways Reception is located be turning right at the first roundabout.
The lake beside the Fairways is spring fed and often attracts visitors having a swim on the warm sunny days Kaikoura has an abundance of.

Having arrived there after a flight from Sydney and a drive from Christchurch we were more than warmly greeted by the Stephan.
We were shown to our unit which was very well presented and encompassed a lounge/dining, kitchen, bedroom with ensuite and a utility section.
The gas fireplace was marvelous and created a wonderful atmosphere over the 7 nights we were there.
The views from every room were great but in particular the views to the snow capped mountains were marvelous.
Each night the owners cats would come and visit and the black one in particular would not want to leave so much so that we would have taken her home had we been able to.
We could walk down to the beach in no time and just look at e back drop of e beautiful mountains, the only thing I will say is that the beaches are not like ours here in Sydney, but it's only a minor point.
Kaikoura is a lovely small coastal town and with the new supermarket there was no problems to obtain groceries, whilst also there were some very good restaurants.
To spend the time relaxing or going for drives to Blenheim to visit the wineries, this was a great location and would not hesitate to return.

The room was beautifully appointed in a very quite part of Kaikoura. Many thanks to Stephan letting us know about the baby seal colony a little bit of local knowledge is great. Many thanks to making our brief stay in Kaikoura very welcoming.

These self catering apartments are incredibly well kitted out - a super gas bbq in the garden and all the amenities you could ask for in a very modern but comfortable design - we really looked forward to coming back here in the evenings for a bbq or a fish takeway supper and a glass of wine after a wonderful day of whale watching. Its only a few kms out of town but you'll need your own transport. The only negative (and I'm struggling a bit here) is a slightly odd setting. Its not on a ridge at all - its literally just off the main road and is quite open to what looks like a small housing complex next door. Its a super view of the kaikoura mountain range behind the apartments though and I'd certainly recommend it to others.

If you are looking for a no worries relaxing stay, the Fairways have simply the best to offer. The apartments are absolutely wonderful and there is nothing that could be better. Absolutely comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, complete kitchen with all comfort you wish for, nice towels, warm in winter, spacious, fantastic view on the mountain, close to town, nice walks in the area. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

This wonderfully appointed unit with a full kitchen and laundry was a wonderful way to end our holiday.
A beautiful gas log fire ,spa bath made it all a beautiful experience.
