Hawthorn Woods, ILCasa De Emdeko is a great place for a relaxing vacation.
Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This was the second time we stayed at Casa De Emdeko. Unit #333 was much better than the unit we stayed in previously. This unit was updated somewhat and it did include a washer/dryer and internet access. The queen size bed was very comfortable. The only downside to the unit was the kitchen. There were no cabinets or shelving units to put food in. We had to put anything we bought on the kitchen counter which made it very cluttered. We feel the location of Casa is ideal as you're not too far from restaurants & shopping. If you are a walker/jogger alii Drive is perfect for that. We walked almost every morning. We feel Casa is geared more for older couples not families. It is very quiet and peaceful at the pool and the entire property which makes it very relaxing.

Sydney, AustraliaParadise is an overworked word in Hawaii...but we found it!

In travelling the world, we've found that rarely do all the elements come together. That is - location, accommodation, people and service.
But, we found it all staying at #333 at the unique Casa de Emdeko in Kailua Kona on Hawaii's Big island. Indeed we're almost reluctant to post this review because, well, we'd like to keep it a secret! Sitting on our spacious lanai sipping a chilled wine and gazing at the endless blue ocean while the breeze stirs the palms is hard to beat.
That's why we keep coming back to #333 year after year. It has become our true home-away-from home... and we've booked for next year! -

SelahGreat view, unit could use some upgrading.

Casa de Emdeko is a great place because it is quiet and the grounds are well kept. Our unit was well situated. However, the sheets on our bed were clean, but obviously very worn. There was a tear in the top sheet. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, but some of the cookware should be tossed. Not a bug in sight! On our last night it was cool, so we decided to open the sliding door and someone in the unit below was smoking, so we had to close it. I am assuming it is ok to smoke on the lanai.

Wonderful, relaxing and just nice! Parking was the main issue we had. At times we had to carry heavy items a bit of a distance. Also the end stairs were out of commission the entire time we stayed.

I liked the Casa De Emdeko complex. It is well maintained and the staff are helpful. All complex amentities are great. The unit 333 needs some maintenance and upgrading and this was detailed in a note I sent to Sunquest on departure. We visited friends in unit 335 and their furniture and amenties were superior.

Victoria, BCGreat complex, has everything you need.
Left on 10/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We really liked this unit, it had a great view, the complex was very quiet this time of year. Everything you would ever need in a vacation condo. Bed, comfy, the couch could be more comfortable, with maybe a chair in the living room, but overall no problem. The elevator on the side we were on was down for a complete overhaul with no advance notice on the second day, which meant we had to haul groceries and everything up all three flights of stairs. Good thing we are athletic, not everyone would have been able to cope with no elevator.

The layout of Casa is terrific. The oceanfront saltwater pool and "beach"
are terrific, right at the edge of crashing waves. The more secluded freshwater pool is surrounded by a tropical garden. The unit and service
were first rate. -

We completely enjoyed our stay at Casa de Emdeko #333. It was clean, nicely kept, quiet, reasonably priced, and beautifully located. We enjoyed the ocean view, and bird watching from our lanai. The kitchen, bathroom, and linens were well supplied and equipped (including plenty of wash cloths/towels, hair dryer, coffee maker, and automatic ice maker) The supplied bamboo mats, beach towels, styrofoam coolers, water bottles, and float noodles were quite useful. The bed and the sofa bed were both comfortable. The complimentary coffee, soaps, and shampoo/conditioner were a nice touch. We were a bit disappointed that the internet access was not wireless, but we were pleased that there was at least the ethernet hook up option. The kitchen fan could use some Wd-40, but other than that, everything was in good working order. It was the perfect place for the two of us. We used it as our "base camp" for exploring the entire west side of the island from north to south. If we ever visit the Big Island again, we will definitely plan to stay in #333.

Manitoba, CanadaGreat Ocean View!!
Left on 04/09/2009 for a stay in March 2009
This condo has recently been updated and has a great ocean view. The Casa is right on the ocean and has 2 pools, however the pools are a little cold. The condo is located on Alii Drive, so it is close to all shops and dining. There is a small convenience store on sight, however the items are a little pricey, so we did most of our shopping elsewhere, but this store is good in a pinch. The BBQ's and cabana area are also very nice. This was our first visit to the Big Island and we very pleased with the condo ammenities and location. We would definately return to the Casa and recommend this condo to any friends or family.
