Mission Viejo, CAThe Perfect Place
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We had a great time at Kona Nalu in June. The apartment was spacious and the lanai was huge. The view was gorgeous. The rooms were on opposite sides of the apartment, so it is nice if you are wanting privacy from another couple. Each rooms also had their own bathroom. The place was equipped with beach towels, sand toys, cooler and chairs. Everything was clean and neat. My only small complaint was it was a little warm w/o ac, but we just left the fans on at night. Also, there are no good sandy beaches w/in walking distance. We had to drive to them. My husband loved getting up early each morning and walking to Banyans surf spot. My 6 yr old son did enjoy exploring the rocks in front of the condo. We even saw some turtles down the way. Thanks for a great stay!

Denver, COSleep to the sounds of the ocean
Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in July 2012
A beautiful condo with a huge lanai overlooking the Pacific ocean. The master bedroom has a sliding glass door that opens to the lanai and the sounds of the ocean all night long. Beautiful master bath was recently redone. Guest bedroom could stand an update to aute it as beautiful as the rest of the condo, but it's OK for kids.

CAAbsolute Paradise!
Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This small complex is truely oceanfront. It just doesn't get any better. The sunquest staff and the owners go out of their way to make this a sanctuary in pardise. There is no comparison to any other accomodations on the island. You just you can't wipe the smile off of your face the entire time you are there!

Monument, COA beautiful, relaxing stay in a gorgeous beachfront condo.
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Service: Clean, well provisioned for dishes and cooking utensils. Short on dish-washing soap, garbage bags & laundry soap. If soaps and bags aren't included that should be noted before the stay so we can bring them.
Location: Awesome!!! Location is the best...listening to the ocean at night and sitting out on the Lanai in the evenings. Close enough to town that we didn't have to take the car if we didn't want to. Loved the church next door for Sunday morning.
House: Perfect for our family.
Best: Location, cleanliness, loved that there was no carpet, large lanai was great!
Worst: Just wasn't aware that we needed to bring our own garbage bags and soaps. Everything was so good it is hard to come up with something in this category. -

Bremerton WAAwesome unit in an awesome location
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Our Kona Nalu unit was simply delightful, from the full lanai where we enjoyed our dinners, our conversation competing with the sound of the surf and the birds, to the comfy living quarters inside. I have already heartily recommended this unit to neighbors who are planning to visit Hawaii.

Victoria British Columbia CanadaClean and Spacious with Huge Ocean View Lanai
Left on 12/17/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My friend and I stayed in this 2 bedroom 2 bath condo for one week and did most of our own cooking. We enjoyed the separation between the 2 bedrooms and each having our own bathroom. One bedroom is much smaller than the other and faces the road instead of the ocean, so my friend was disturbed occasionally by traffic noise. I had the master bedroom and enjoyed listening to the waves at night We enjoyed the ocean-front lanai so much, we could hardly go anywhere else. Although waterfront, ocean entry is difficult here and for safety, we went up the road to Magic Sands Beach Park. The beds are comfortable and the unit is attractive. There is only one small television in the living room and there is no working television in either bedroom.
The only downside of this condo is the check-in. We did not rent a car because we use the local bus service. The management company procedure is to drive to their office and pick up the keys. I was not told this until after I had paid the full amount. When I asked about check-in, I was told it would be explained after final payment. Surprise! There is no one on-site. Sunquest agreed to leave the suite open for us. When we got there by taxi, it was locked and we had no phone. Fortunately, a handyman renovating another suite let us use his cell phone to call the management company. Someone arrived within a few minutes to let us in. This property is walking distance from Kona but I do not recommend renting it unless you have a car because of the check-in problem. -

seattle, waGorgeous Unit - Huge Deck with Stellar View
Left on 12/08/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We loved our stay here. The room is gorgeous and the deck is so big you can do yoga on it. Being an end unit makes the view even better. The bedroom faces the deck and the ocean and it is right up on the ocean so you hear the waves all day and night. The room was nicely stocked with beach chairs, wi-fi, etc. The one small downside to the unit was that the waves were so loud it was hard to listen to music.
The biggest downside of our stay had nothing to do with the unit - it was the complex grill. It is built into a wall with lots of foliage behind it and the area was teeming with roaches. The grill really needs to be changed to minimize the bug situation. -

VancouverNice location, decent unit but complex really run down
Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed for 4 days at the Kona Nalu. The unit had no air conditioning which was a bit uncomfortable even with the fans and trade winds. Unit has beautiful views right on the ocean. The unit has been updates but could still use some new appliances. The complex is badly run down, the pool and BBQ are virtually unusable and feel dirty. The beach is tiny and uncared for, we couldn't figure out where these units monthly strata/maintenance fees go to? The complex definitely needs some capital upgrades. It worked out Ok for us as we were out every day and only slept there.

San FranciscoIncredibly relaxing and beautiful space with the best location
Left on 06/09/2011 for a stay in May 2011
This was our first time (get the hint?) to stay in this condo. If all you wanted to do was relax and look out over the ocean - this is the spot for you. The lanai is large and comfortable, and is on the ocean's edge. Just sit back and enjoy. But the location is central - making it easy to go to any of the closeby beaches, the 'downtown' area of Kailua, or up in the hills to Kona coffee farms. Two bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms allow for great comfort and privacy (when wanted). The kitchen is fully loaded which helps out tremendously (inluding a washer/dryer). Incredibly clean and quiet - and overall furnished by people who care for their guests. I wish I were back there right now - and look forward to the day I do.

Kamloops BCBeautiful, clean and very nicely upgraded spacious condo.
Left on 07/28/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We loved our stay in this very comfortable, nicely finished condo. The lanai overlooking the ocean was fantastic...we saw spinner dolphins just offshore early in the mornings and loved the sunsets and sound of waves crashing on the shore. The condo itself is beautifully decorated and the tile bathroom is lovely.
The pool is clean and nice but rather small. A gas BBQ would be an improvement over the briquette one but we still Bbq'd several times.
Boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach towels and various beach toys all provided...a nice touch.
Overall...highly recommended! -

Worth it just for the lanai. End unit with a 180 degree view of the horizon. Right over the ocean - leave the doors open and listen to the surf crash in. Swim with the turtles. Enjoy the tide pools. Couldn't have been better.

Los Angeles, CAFantastic ocean and sunset views
Left on 04/21/2009 for a stay in June 2008
We spent a week there. Loved the unit. Very quiet on the end of the building. Fantastic lanai with louges, table and chairs. Right at the edge of the water. Great views by day and sunsets at night. Well-equipped unit in an elevator building with covered parking.
There is a small pool which we only used once because it was still cool in June and I don;t think it was heated. Weather with the clouds and atmosphere issues as a result of the volcano made it a bit cooler than we planned. After checking out we spent three days in the Waikoloa area with a lot more sun. Just depends on when you are there.
Everything advertised by the company was as stated. Very easy to handle to reservations, keys, check in and out.
Great Farmer's Market not too far away. Would definitely rent the unit again. -

Left on 04/09/2009 for a stay in February 2009
The view from the lanai was worth everything! We found it difficult to leave and go do things. We spent many lovely hours watching whales, dolphins, waves, sea turtles, sunsets, the world going by, etc.
It is a very nicely furnished condo. We shared with another couple -- the 2 bedrooms are not quite equal and our friends were gracious enough to let us have the ocean-front bedroom and took the parking lot-busy Alii drive bedroom. Since there is no AC, windows need to be open, so it was a little noisy. I personally love the location -- to be able to walk on Alii Drive to the close market, to any nearby beach. Some might find it too busy. It worked great for us and I would certainly recommend it and would love to stay again. Sadly, we didn't discover until late in our stay all of the snorkeling, beach gear & supplies. The swimming pool is quite small and we were disappointed in the BBQ -- as we depend on grilling food for dinners. But, again, I would still give our experience just the highest rating for the location and the incredible view! -
