Mikki at Sunquest was very helpful, courteous, and pleasant. The condo was very comfortable. We really enjoyed having a washer/dryer in the unit. You can't beat seeing the sunset on the lanae! The only negatives: There needed to be more lighting outside by the steps and a ramp up the steps. We arrived in the evening when it was dark and had a hard time finding the condo complex - schrubs covered the name. We really enjoyed our stay.

Place was great, just as advertised. The Lanai was huge, never tired of the view. Complex could use a little spritzing up. Paint on railing, bar b que maintenance, etc.

Fabulous location. The unit could use a little updating. The lack of beachtowels is ridiculous! Not enough kitchen utensils and storage items. Not one paring knife!
Suggest Sunquest or the owner put together a checklist of basic amenities required. -

Mission Viejo, CAOur get-away vacation to Kona
Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed at the Kona Nalu #303 for 10 days in May. The location of the facility was very convenient for us; about half way between the Kona Country Club, where we frequented during our stay, and the little town of Kona. The original reviews advertised oceanfront, and the unit could not have been any closer to the water. We spent a lot of time on the very large lanai, having meals, reading, and a lot of general relaxing. The 2 bedroom unit was quite large, and nicely furnished, with just about everything we needed for our stay. There was a nice flat screen TV in the living room, with smaller Tv's in both bedrooms, but all connected to either the local cable or satellite company. There was some street noise on the side of the second bedroom, but that was because of the location right on alii Drive. The facility was a little older, but that is true of most of the condos in that area. It only had 15 units, so it was very quiet, particularly because we were on the top floor. It was very clean and well maintained. The pool, as advertised, was very small, but I was generally the only one out there, so it worked for my purposes. Our only complaint was that we liked to cook a lot of meals in. With all the excellent fresh fish, our preferred cooking method is BBQ, but it was not propane or gas, so using charcoal was definitely not our preferred option.

Kona Nalu #303 was a perfect rental a family with young children. The unit is spacious and inviting. The balcony is wonderful with lounging chairs and a table; and the views of the ocean, and sunset, are just spectacular. Having a pool with a grill was also great for days when we didn't want to go to the beach. The second bedroom is on the small side, but it's nice that it's somewhat closed off with a separate door and bathroom.
The master bedroom is quite large. Having 2 bathrooms was really helpful if you have a larger group. The laundry machine & dishwasher were super helpful for the little kids. The only negative was that we found a cockroach (a rather large one). -

Hartwell, GAGorgeous Condo on the Big Island.
Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Kona Nalu is a gorgeous small condo complex with a fantastic view and great location on the Big Island. A real gem. We were in heaven.
My aunt could hardly bring herself to leave the mesmerizing Pacific scene off the large beautiful lanai while we were there. Every time I came in from snorkeling, she was out there napping on one of the cushy chaise lounges. We also enjoyed eating outside and just sitting out there sipping our coffee in the morning. The crystal clear surf has such an incredible ever-changing array of blues and the sunsets and full moon through the palm trees at night were a bonus.
The ocean surf is so close; you'll have to close the sliding glass doors to hear the TV (who needs TV anyway in Hawaii?) Along that same vein, the only negative I can possibly think of is that if you're in the kitchen during the day, some of the traffic and loud Harleys can compel you close the windows and turn on the AC. But it's nicely quiet at night.
The condo is well furnished, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The master bed was very comfy and the kitchen well equipped. We really appreciated all the amenities including the elevator, reserved covered parking, and the pretty pool.
If you head south, Kona Nalu is very close to some of the best beaches and bays,(snorkeling, surfing and boating). If you head north, there's great food and shopping. It was just perfect for us! Except for the days we drove to the summit of Mauna Kea, Vocanoes National Park and Hilo, everything we did was relatively close and convenient. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kona Nalu. A+
Thanks again,
E. Thornton - Hartwell, GA
