Just home from yet another wonderful week at this beautiful unit. It is and will remain our favorite place to stay in all of Hawaii. It has everything we need, and the proximity to the beach, the tennis courts and nearby town make it ideal in every way. We shall continue to return again and again.

We loved staying at Kona Reef a-6. The location was perfect...ocean outside the door, sunsets from the lanai, easy access to the pool but in a quiet location.
The condo was well equipped with ocean/pool toys, guide books, games, in addition to the kitchen and bath items. The upgrades in the condo were also appreciated...up to date and not tired and drab.
Condo was also a great location for walking to all of the activities on alli Drive. And a starting point for exploring the island. We put 1000 miles on the rental car!
Working with SunQuest was also a pleasure. Thank you for your attention to every detail and also your quick replies to our questions.
Already thinking of time back at Kona Reef...with the extended family!
Wonderful, relaxing, beautiful accommodations

My husband and I stayed in unit #A6 for one week and the stay was fantastic. The condo was recently updated and was very warm and inviting. On arrival the unit was very clean and the information for our stay was in the bedroom and in the living area for easy access. Although we did not cook in the unit, the kitchen has all the amenities of home, full refrigerator, stove/oven and dishwasher. The view of the ocean from the lana'i was breathtaking and we enjoyed many sunsets during our stay. Would definitely stay in this unit again if we are lucky enough to make another trip to The Big Island.

The unit has been tastefully updated - the lanai and view are breathtaking. We were concerned about it being ground floor - no worries. The pool and hot tub were relaxing. The BBQ grills are covered and cleaned nightly. The bed is very comfortable, the aC works great. It is within close walking distance to Kona and the farmers market!
We would definitely stay here again!

We had an very good experience staying at this particular unit. It was clean and well organized. We would definately come back to this unit or others that you service.
The only issue that we dealt with had to do with the return of the pool key. Your instructions to take the keys to the sunquest office when normally an item such as keys will be left at the unit rather than asking your guest to transport the key to your office is several blocks away plus the simple fact that it was closed ---there for we left the keys on the kitchen counter
Perfect location for a relaxing Hawaiian Vacation

What a great place to stay. This was our second trip to Kona and our first time at Kona Reef. We stayed at the Hilton last time at double the cost for a standard hotel room. Kona Reef offered us space, a kitchen and great location near town. We brought our son for his first trip to Hawaii and we had plenty of room. The bedroom was decent size and the sofa bed was an air mattress (much better than a normal sofa bed). The location is perfect. Short walk into town, but still very quiet. The pool and the grills around the pool are perfect for saving a little money on dinner out. The view was spectacular. Surfing everyday and beautiful sunsets every evening. The unit was on the ground floor and very clean. There was a cooler, chairs, fishing gear and boogie board in the closet. It had a clean well stocked kitchen and new bathroom. This unit had aC in every room, which is not the same for other units. Parking was easy and there was a security guard walking the property every night. We felt perfectly safe and relaxed. The central location allowed us to fan out around the island for all the sights. SunQuest was easy to deal with and the transactions were smooth. We were even able to keep the unit the whole day of departure for a reasonable fee. With a late night flight back east, it allowed us to get in an extra full stress free day of surfing, snorkeling and dinner before our trip to the airport. We can't wait to come back and will definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for a wonderful vacation!

This place definitely met all of my expectations. It was located right in the heart of Kona. Within walking distance to all of the restaurants, and shops. Everything was clean and well stocked. All of the essentials one could need while staying away from home. The views right out of the sliding glass door were absolutely amazing. Beautiful Hawaii sunsets I had planned a surprise engagement to my girlfriend (fiancé now) while staying here and she was blown away by the place, and by the surprise. Getting to wake up everyday and look at the ocean was all I needed to make my stay worth while. The complex was quiet, and everyone was very friendly. The sliding glass door kept falling off the track but nothing worth really complaining about. All in all a wonderful place to stay and I will definitely be returning next year.

Very happy with our selection of #A6. Great location; easy walk to many shops and restaurants downtown. Next to a small city park with small beach. There is a reef in front of the condo which makes swimming difficult. Condo was in great shape, clean and modern with many amenities. A/C in the main room as well as bedroom; ceiling fans in both rooms as well. Kitchen relatively well equipped with all the basics. Beach chairs and towels were provided. Nice patio with great views of the sunset. Less privacy on the ground floor as people walking by can see in but not a big deal, worth it for the easy shoreline access and large patio. Only complaint was that the screen door to the patio falls off the track every time you open it; very difficult to use. The condo facility in general is nice with a pool and hot tub as well as several gas grills available for use. The condo building in general is very dated but the condo has been remodeled and was great.
Excellent condo with an amazing view

Cannot emphasize enough what a great view it is from the condo. The pictures do not do justice to the reality. We stayed here for a week and had the best time. It was great to have a welcome goody bag with coffee, wine and a couple of beers!
The condo is in pristine condition. The appliances are all in excellent condition. Most of them are almost brand new. plenty of towels! Bathroom is in excellent condition.
The view from the lanai is to die for. We had my three year old daughter and I can say first hand that this was a very kid friendly condo and complex.
The pool and the grills are very well maintained.
I would definitely recommend a6. It is absolutely worth paying extra for the sea facing condos.

We love Kona Reef (and especially unit a6) and we appreciate the service we get from SunQuest. This is our 3rd year! In 2012, access to the unit was easy and staff responded promptly and courteously to our requests to resolve a few issues we had in the unit. We intend to return in 2013. The only problem we have is the increase in cost for the unit. For this reason only, we will search other opportunities.

We are beach people, and what I love most about this place is that we could walk right out from the patio and be on the beach, though rocky... no stairs or hallways in between, only a lawn and the beach. The added bonus was the exquisite decor and clean, updated amenities, all new. The lighting, appliances, art, comfortable queen bed, etc. were all the very best. Much effort has obviously been taken with the decorating. There were a couple of beach chairs, too, which was nice when we wanted to walk down across the lawn and sit on the sand for awhile. There were a couple of sea turtles who would come and feed in the tide pool right in front of the condo. The barbecues are situated just above the pool and a very short walk from the condo patio, which was convenient, and the sun sets over the ocean right in front of the patio, so cocktails and photo ops were a daily ritual. One thing we learned is that we could play tennis right next door at the Royal Kona Tennis Club for about $40 a week. It's an easy stroll to the courts from the condo-- next time we'll bring our racquets. This was our fifth trip to Kona in the past two years, and by far the nicest place we've ever stayed. this time we stayed at Kilauwea Lodge for four nights before our week here in Kona, and once we arrived in this fabulous condo, we rarely had the urge to get in the car and go anywhere; just being there was so relaxing. Can't think of any negatives except that the bed is smaller than the king bed we are accustomed to, but who cares when you are in paradise? There is something about this place that will call us back again and again, and we can only hope that it will still be available for us after everyone has read this rave review!!!

The room a6 was exactly as portrayed, very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The overall complex was great and closer to town than we thought, but just far enough away. Sunquest Vacations was so easy to deal with and very helpful. We will be going back, soon I hope!!

The unit was exactly as shown in the pictures. It was well-maintained and very convenient - close to the town to walk to every evening. The updated unit was a plus with respect to making the stay very enjoyable. Enjoyed using the beach front lawn to relax and read.

We love the Kona Reef complex. We will be a repeat customer. The Condo is exceptional. Newly refurbished. One exception, the bed. My wife had to sleep on the couch because of the height. The bugs were very unwelcome, too many. Complex is on the ocean front. Great pool, Bbqs, and outdoor space. Walking distance to Kona town. Best value for our money and vacation.

We received excellent service in picking and booking a vacation spot in Kailue-Kona at a good rate. The condo was beautifully decorated island style and included everything needed for a delightful stay: extra towels and pillows, books (including guide books), games, beach chairs and towels, and boogie boards. This oceanfront location is perfect for watching for dolphins and turtles, and looking for treasures on the beach which is at the doorstep. The five-minute walk to town for dining and shopping is a great asset. We love the oceanside pool for swimming and sunning.

Service was fine and friendly and the front office staff was very helpful. We checked in after hours so only one key was available which became a problem until we could get back to the office and pick up a second key.
Beautifully decorated with Hawaii theme and modern appliances. Air conditioning in bedroom was quiet and efficient. Location is convenient to town but quiet and peaceful with wonderful oceanfront view and steps to pool. The best feature is the location and view. The only complaint would be not all the Bbq's worked and it was sometimes difficult to find space to BBQ at dinner.

We've stayed in a variety of units at the Kona Reef over the years and this is absolutely the nicest, most luxurious one bedroom unit in the complex. The photos do not do it justice. The ocean is right in front of the lanai with views of surfers, Cruise ships, Kailua Bay and nightly turtle visits in the tide pools. A-6 is our choice for all future Kona vacations.
The Reef complex has some design issues as there is no way to get to most units without using stairs because the elevator stops at landings between the floors. That said, the complex is very clean and well maintained, on a prime location with adequate parking and is a short walk into Kailua.
We've used SunQuest (the management agent for this and other units) for many years and can't say enough about how pleasant and easy they are to deal with. Their office is a little out of the way and can be awkward to reach during morning traffic (I hesitate to say rush hour- it is Kona) but I would not use anyone else.

This place is an excellent little condo. Clean, sharp decor, and so close to the water, beautiful! The location right on the main strip of Kailua-Kona is perfect. "Downtown" is an easy walk, and we enjoyed regular happy hours at the Mai Tai bar next door at the Royal Kona. We *loved* exploring Kona by foot; so glad we didn't stay at some of the other condos further south with a significantly much longer walk to town.
The driving instructions, however, should explain that when driving north on alii Drive (from the SunQuest office) you will not see the sign for Kona Reef in the dark, since it is angled towards southbound traffic.
Upon entry to the condo, we noticed a slightly musty odour but we attributed that to being on the waterfront! (It went away quickly with some fresh air). The air conditioning units are top-shelf; effective and quiet (the bedroom would otherwise be stuffy but the a/C made it comfortable).
We appreciated how quickly SunQuest had someone fix the leak in the upstairs unit (water was coming through our shower light fixture), thanks SunQuest.
The boogie boards at the condo were an excellent bonus; we had terrific fun in the waves at Magic Sands beach. Thanks for a wonderful stay in Kona!

My husband and I want to thank the owners for making our vacation a dream come true. From the moment we walked in and for the week we stayed there, it was magical. The condo was so clean, cozy and comfortable. The location on the water, sitting outside watching the ocean made our trip so relaxing. We didn't want to leave. Usually after a week somewhere, we can't wait to sleep in our own bed. Even the bed was so comfortable, we slept great, no backaches like many other trips. The whole experience was the best we ever had. The decor, cleanliness and coziness made us never want to leave. We want to stay there again and we will recommend this unit to our friends..Again, thank you.
Great location, nicely remodeled condo

The condo is beautifully remodeled, and the location is incredible: first floor looking out on to a surf break. From Kona Reef it's an easy stroll into Kailua Kona for shopping, drinks, dinner. Inside there are a lot of nice amenities: 2 wide screen flat panel Tv's, iPod adapter for stereo, new appliances, beach chairs provided. The bed is up pretty high over a storage base, a little too high for our comfort, and rather close to the ceiling fan; but in every other way, a very comfortable, clean, and up to date condo. The bathroom is lovely, and the shower large and comfortable. The exterior of Kona Reef was being remodeled while we were there -- it will probably be much nicer when plantings are in the planters. The parking garages are not connected and a bit inscrutable the first time; also, there is no way to get into the parking garage without climbing at least a few steps, not a problem for us, but maybe for other travelers.
