My husband and I stayed at Kona Tiki Condo for two weeks in april 2011 in celebration of my 50th birthday. Diane arranged ground transportation for us from the airport to the condo and back again on departure day. She also arranged an extremely affordable car rental for us and a great informational packet about Kona and the Big Island.
The condo was exactly as described and pictured on the website. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai listening to the birds and ocean. Because of the condo's location, behind a building off ali'i Drive, there is virtually no car noise, yet you are so close to town. The condo is just steps away from the fresh water pool, but the best part about this property is the large, salt water, ocean front pool with private, sandy sunning area. Most days, we had the pools to ourselves, no crowds, quiet, relaxing.
We had great meals and conversations with other guests at the cabana. The sunsets were amazing.
This is a no frills, but solid and affordable place to call home when you visit the Big Island. The in unit washer and dryer sure came in handy and the air conditioning worked beautifully.
When we go back, we will definitely be contacting Diane and hoping the condo is available. -

We stayed at Kona Tiki Condo 106 for 14 nights Feb/Mar 2011. Diane was excellent at responding to emails and answering questions. She provided information on Kailua Kona and offered many tips to help make our vacation more enjoyable. The condo was very comfortable for two and met our expectations. We don't need much: bed, bathroom, kitchen and it needs to be clean. Being centrally located is also a plus.
The grounds are well kept and the staff very friendly. The two pools are a plus. An outstanding feature of this property is the sandy area at the sea wall. You could spend the day here and feel like you're at the beach. -

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kona Tiki Condo. The swimming pool and the cabana right by the ocean were our favorite place to watch the sun set and have a coffee in the morning. The condo had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our days at the beach. We also appreciated the location: a 20 min walk would bring us to downtown Kona. We were there with our 4 months old daugther and we really enjoyed it.

A small, cozy condo, very quiet south side of the complex, with a nice little garden view on the lanai. Yes, everyone walks by on their way to the pool or barbecue, but you get so you don't notice. And the overhead fans, in the bathroom, bedroom, living area, and lanai, are truly wonderful to catch the morning and evening breezes!

First of all Diane made all the arrangements so easy and the reading material of things to do and see was excellent. Location of the Casa was very central to food, entertainment etc. The maps supplied made it easy to catch whatever road we needed to visit the volcano and Hilo, north shore and snorkeling beaches. We enjoyed the BBQ and the 2 pools. Also the kitchen was fully equiped for a lot of stay at home cooking which made it easy to eat more healthy. We would reccomend this rental to anyone. We enjoyed our stay here very much. The Thomas' provided everything we needed to make our stay in Paradise just that! A short walk through the lovely grounds took us to the pool, the barbeque area, and the sand. We saw some beautiful sunsets, eating outside on our private patio. Everything was clean and well maintained. We will definitely try to stay there again if we make it back over the Big Island!!

Great I finally got a chance to give reviews on my stay! Diane helped us a lot with the last minute decision to travel to Hawaii, not only by providing us with her great condo and arranging another fantastic one near the volcano, but also a lot of useful information for the local treasures. The condo is clean and cozy, with everything you need for a short stay (even the sauses in the fridge!!!) so you won't bother to buy everything just for 3-5 days. She also has a great collection of tour guide books and even boogie boards, so you don't have to bring your own! The complex has well maintained BBQ facilities so you can bet what we ate everyday. The little store has great subs too!

Left on 10/22/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We had a great time at the "Kona Tiki Condo" the place was clean and well stocked with items to make out stay enjoyable, sand toys, boards, chairs for the beach, games and a small selection of books for inside. The condo lanai out on a well manicured garden and is very close to both pools and the BBQ area. At night we saw eels and rays from the viewing area. The location is close enough to walk to town but out of the busy area to feel like a real nice and quiet holiday. We travelled 2 adults and 1 child, who slept on the pull out sofa bed, we put it away each day to make space for the day and would recommend the place for a family of 3 but probably not 4. The condo decor is as described and kitcsh but that's what holidays are for, it was clean which is the biggest concern to me. We had a great time and would go back.

The condo complex is located right on the water and has its own beach and a big outdoor group grilling/kitchen area. The unit was very clean and decorated in a fun, Hawaiiana tiki style. It is located right in the middle of Kona, so we were able to walk everywhere. Our 'welcome package' included the most helpful information on amenities and fun things to do in the area.

I stayed at the condo the first week of December.
THe condo was very clean and very nicely decorated.
The grounds are well kept and the view of the ocean
is really wonderful. THere is a covered cabana
and also an open area overlooking the ocean. A
wonderful place to have morning coffee, watch the
dolphins and whales and see the sunsets at night.
Very peaceful and serene. Would recommend the
condo to everyone who would be looking for a vacation haven instead of all the tourist noise.
Very enjoyable. -

The condo is a relaxing place to stay with easy access to Kona and the great parks to the south for snorkeling, kayaking and sight seeing. The owners are well informed about the area and provide great information on such things as when the farmers market is held, the best restaurant stop on the way to watch the lava flows and see green sand beach to where to get the best service, price and equipment for snorkeling. Can you say humhumunukunukuapua'a?
