Superb Kailua-Kona location
We had a glorious 4 days in this condo. Breakfast on the lanai with the waves beneath us and a turtle in a tidal pool below us our first morning... all within walking distance to activities, restaurants and shopping. Will only stay here in the future.
#410 is a best kept secret
This is the 4th time staying in Unit 410. We used to stay next door at the Royal Kona Resort and often saw the Hale Kona Kai and wondered if any of the units were rented. We found out they were and we have stayed here every trip ever since. As otheres have stated, this condo is maintained year in and year out. It is quiet and the location is dynamite. You really don't even need a car when staying here as downtown Kailua and many restaurants are within 5-10 minute walk. But if you have rented a car, there is assigned parking here that doesn't cost extra like most hotels in the area. There is a washer/dryer on every floor. The 'extras' in the condo are too many too list but believe me when I say you don't need to bring a thing. They even have beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler for your use! How convenient is that? And as always, they have a little greeting package to kick you off when you arrive. Very thoughtful. There is also free wifi available. There is a manager on duty at the main desk during the day that can answer your questions and lend a hand. She even has post card stamps and change for the laundry! A perfect three weeks in paradise!
Sandy and Dave have done everything to make their condo a home away from home. It is very well appointed with all the extras one could hope for... including beach chairs, a cooler and boogie boards. The condo itself was wonderfully comfortable and well equipped. We were able to sit on the lanai and enjoy the pounding surf, watch turtles, dolphins and even eels! It was quiet and restful but just a few blocks to walk to restaurants, shops and the Farmer's Market.
We were grateful for Dave and Sandy's consideration, including a gift bag of homemeade shortbread, Kona coffee and chocolates.
It was everything we hoped for and more, and we hope to return again soon!

This is the 10th visit my parents have made to David and Sandy's condo, unit #410. As my parents have gotten older it is a worry to me when they travel but knowing that David and Sandy will go the extra mile (went in and turned on lights since they were arriving in the evening, having homemade goodies when they arrive and being in touch with me so I know that my parents are alright) has given me peace of mind when so far from home. I will absolutely tell anyone who will listen and wanting a condo in Kona that the must stay in unit #410 and how wonderful David and Sandy have been with my parents. A five star for service isn't enough!!

perfect situated on the ocean and close to town.
This unit has been tastefully updated and everything works well. It was clean and the owners had left a much appreciated welcome bag of goodies. The high quality kona coffee was a hit. The air conditioning worked well, but wasn't really needed as the breezes flow through the unit and keep it cool. Free designated parking was a plus.

Wonderful vacation with gorgeous views in #410
We stayed for 8 nights in Hale Kona Kai #410 and it was just wonderful. The condo is updated very nice with all new appliances and furniture. The kitchen has all the conveniences of home which made it easy to save money by cooking alot of our own meals. They have beautiful granite counters throughout. The bathroom had a shower, no tub but that wasn't a problem for us. It was well-stocked with towels, shampoos, body wash, and lotions. The bedroom was beautiful with a king sized bed which was sooo comfortable. It was like sleeping at home. It was nice that the bedroom also faced the ocean. The condo has beach towels, cooler, beach chairs and even fishing poles. We had an absolute wonderful vacation in this condo. Dave and Sandy were so easy to work with. When we arrived, there was a welcome package of homemade cookies and a package of coffee and some candies waiting for us. Within 10 days of returning home, we received our deposit in the mail. We recently returned from a wonderful trip to the Big Island. While there, we stayed in David & Sandy's beautiful Kailua condo #410 at Hale Kona Kai.
The location couldn't have been better. Just a short walk to many great dining and shopping options.
The condo itself, is beautiful. Apparently recently remodeled, with absolutely breathtaking views of the sunset over the ocean from the lani'.
Working with David directly made the rental process
a breeze. Can't wait to go back!

Wow this place has been incredible. If one reads the guest book then you will truly understand what Dave and Sandy have established in both the personal touches and the location. We loved sitting on the lanai and the sound of the pounding surf. The condo was clean, comfortable and had all the extras. Location was the best close to town centre and the market but far enough away for that quiet evening on the lanai. We hope to be back again soon and wouldn't change a thing for our next visit.
Great relaxing winter getaway
The condo was very well appointed and everything was wonderful, including the weather. We are looking forward to staying there next year!
