Clovis, CAWhat a relaxing and gorgeous condo in Kona
Left on 12/01/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed at this beautiful condo in November 2012. The condo is just a few feet from the ocean and you can lie in the living room or on the lanai to hear the waves crashing into the rocks. It's conveniently located a short walk from downtown Kona-Kailua but you never feel like you're in the center of town. We ate many dinners out on the lanai after Bbqing in the pool area and eating our fresh produce from the farmers market. We enjoyed exploring the entire island and returning to our home away from home. Cannot wait to stay at this condo again.

This condo was all it was advertised and more. Watching the surfers from the lanai is an endless diversion. Great pool and BBQ facilities. Couldn't have been happier with our 9-day stay. Fine value and lots of fun.

Newton, MassachusettsThe views and serenity from D3-at ground level-were lovely.
Left on 03/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012
This ground level condo has a lanai with wonderful views of the ocean,
and it's easy to hop down to the rocks to take photos of resident
sea turtles. The condo was clean and attractive, and everything worked.
The bedroom was unavoidably a bit dark. The location was within
walking distance of the lively "downtown" action, including many restaurants. The condo is away from the noise and bustle, but it is
nearby. -

Left on 11/22/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Myself and 2 girlfriends spent a week here in November and couldn't have asked for anything more! The ocean front lanai was perfect, we enjoyed Kona coffee out there in the morning and Mai Tai's at night while watching the sunset. The location was absolutely perfect, walking distance to anything we wanted in town but just outside the bustle. All of the details at the condo made our stay so convienient (from plastic glasses for the pool to cooler and boogie board for the beach). We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this spot to anyone. Mahalo!

What a wonderful condo! It is literally right on the beach, just a few steps off the ground-floor lanai. It is within walking distance of many restaurants and all kinds of shopping. We were there for five nights and never needed air conditioning! The breezes, ceiling fans, ground-floor location, and cross ventilation keep it comfortable.
If we come back to Kona, we will stay here again.
Thanks, Jan! -

We enjoyed the vacation. Clean place to stay. Ocean front is the only way to go. After a long day having fun it was great to kick back in the condo right on the ocean. Great sunsets from condo. No problem parking. We did not want to leave.

Cupertino, CAExcellent Condo, excellent location
Left on 04/29/2010 for a stay in April 2010
D-3 Kona Reef condo is outstanding. It is, as stated, steps from the water.
The condo was immaculate and very "fresh" - a lot of recent, well done
updates. It was completely furnished - the kitchen had everything we needed
(even a pineapple corer/slicer). Although the bedroom does not face the
water, you will hear the surf all night - and NO road noise.
Location is good - easy walking distance to town.
The owner was very helpful when I had questions.
Highly recommended. -

AlaskaWonderful Water View
Left on 03/28/2010 for a stay in January 2010
Location was as described with wonderful water view. Close to
waterfront area of Kona with restaurants and other shops within
walking distance but far enough away to eliminate all the noise. Place
comfortable, very clean, and well maintained with extras - snorkeling
equipment, etc. provided. We arrived late but key was available as
indicated although somewhat out of the way. Also directions to pick
up the key were only from the airport and not from South, which made
the key pickup location more difficult for us to find (arrived from Hilo).
All-in-all a great location and enjoyable stay. -

Left on 03/16/2010 for a stay in March 2010
We are enjoying staying at your D3 Condo in Kona. It's so very nicely arranged with everything marked with label tape as to where to place things back after use.
The fast internet is such a plus. We both travel with our laptops and have surely enjoyed being able to keep in touch with friends and family with the internet connection.
The dishes pots and pans, amenities are well-cared for. Sometimes condos have the worst cooking utensils. Not here. I like the cleanliness of the condo and its rooms and features have been easy to keep clean.
The view is just incredible, and we just open the doors and love the fresh air (with the air conditioning off, of course) blowing through the condo. We have seen lots of dolphins from the patio with our binoculars, and keep tabs on things going on at the ocean, like where the Atlantis is going under water, what boats are going by, how many are on the snorkeling tours, you know, just something to watch and pass the time.
What a nice feature the washer/dryer in the condo is. So much nicer than going to a hot laundramat and waiting for your clothes to finish. Thanks to the owners for providing so many handy things for our stay.
It appears that the owners come to the condo and continue to make improvements to make it nicer for the visitors. It looks like there is a new stereo system. Haven't used the stereo, but it's there just in case with a few cd's to listen to.
In fact, have only turned on the TV once. But the owners have provided all the cable stations a person could ever want to watch. Over 100 channels I think. Watching the waves coming in seems to be entertainment enough however.
Like I said, we are loving being here at the condo. I think if I didn't go farther than the lanai, I'd say my vacation was just perfect. We booked the condo for 24 nights and are about half way through the vacation.
I'd definitely consider booking a return trip.

We really enjoyed our stay in D3. The condo is very clean and well equiped. The view is incredible, we also enjoyed the pool and BBQ area. Our only dislike was the bed, it was too hard for our comfort and a bit small.

I totally enjoyed my stay at D3 Kona Reef! The condo was clean and looks just like the pictures. You are right on the water - the waves are relaxing and the sunsets are amazing! It was quiet around this condo, as you did not hear noise from other units or the walkways. The pool is close, although I never went with beaches so close. You are walking distance within shops and restaraunts. There are so many extra amenities in the condo, you feel like you are right at home. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items and appliances, so you can save money by eating in some during your stay. There are beach items (chairs, snorkeling gear, sand toys, floats, cooler, umbrella...), extra towels, extra bedding, movies, stereo, internet, cable, books of things to do, and so much more! The bed and futon were both comfortable. The bathroom was clean, and I think the shower was newly remodeled. We did not need to run the A/C at all during our stay. There are ceiling fans and floor fans. There is a washer and dryer right in the unit. I would definately stay here again. Enjoy!

One of the Most Amazing weeks we have ever had!
We arrived to this ocean front condo, to find that other than groceries, everything we needed was there in a neatly labeled spot. We felt right at home and especially enjoyed the videos and guide books about Hawaii. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, serve ware and cookware. Any time we needed something we looked in a cabinet, and there it was- I can't emphasize this enough! :)
In the living room there is a dining table w/ chairs. There is a comfortable futon for watching tv, reading, listening to waves, etc. And there is extra bedding in the closet if you want to sleep on the futon. The bedroom has a queen size bed, a dresser, two night stands, a tv and 3 lamps. There is a nice sized closet to store clothing and shoes. In the bathroom, the renovated shower is very nice and spacious. The condo is also decorated, which makes it even homier. The art on the walls is pleasant and relaxing to look at, and gives the condo a personal touch.
We had a wonderful time eating meals, watching surfers, boats and sunsets from the lanai. The ocean is so close! We loved hearing the waves crash. Located about three doors down, there is a salt water pool, a hot tub and a grill area that is wonderful for relaxing while you can still hear the ocean.
The location of the condo is just a short walk to fun restaurants and a lovely Wed-Sat farmers market. The sugar loaf pineapples are the bomb! The condo is also located conveniently for driving to fantastic snorkel spots and beautiful beaches! We took AMAZING photographs everywhere we went and loved the sunsets. This was a fantastic trip and we can't wait to go back! :)
We had a chance to meet the owner of this condo, who was kind and helpful. Thank you Jan!

San Diego, CAHad a great baby vacation here
Left on 10/13/2009 for a stay in July 2009
After our baby was born, we decided to take a vacation to the Big Island with her. This turned out to be a great place to stay. This condo has a full kitchen so we could fix breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner here. Other nights we cooked on the barbecues near the pool. We felt like we had everything here that we would have had at home. The patio is just great to sit on and watch everything. We saw some dolphins, a cruise ship, tons of surfers. It worked out well for us because we could take a nap out there or inside while our baby was sleeping. Also, we liked that we could walk to the shops and didn't have to load everything into the car. It was a very relaxing week for us.

San Leandro, CAHard to go Home!
Left on 09/23/2009 for a stay in May 2009
We had never been to the Big Island and loved it. So much to do and the scenery is gorgeous. Staying at this condo just added to our wonderful trip. The condo is right next to the ocean. We loved listening to the waves breaking. Our 2 year old daughter loved the birds and turtles that are all around the Kona Reef and she loved running up and down on the grass strip outside the condo. The condo had some beach toys and videos for kids which was nice. This condo is about 2 blocks from downtown Kona and it was great not having to take out the car all the time. We just walked downtown for great coffee (yeah Lava Java) and some shopping and restaurants. We also cooked dinner several times on the barbecues at the Kona Reef. I really hope we can go back soon again and stay in D3.

Portland, ORA Great Place For A Vacation
Left on 09/09/2009 for a stay in April 2009
This was our second stay in this condo and we hope to go back again soon. the location can't be beat. The ocean is right there, there's a small beach next door, and it's only a couple of blocks walk to all the stores and restaurants in Kona.
The condo has everything we like to have when we go on vacation --comfortable furniture, a kitchen, comfortable bed, and stuff like beach chairs, boogie board, binoculars, etc. Everything is clean and well cared for. The Kona Reef has a great pool and jacuzzi and barbecues. The guests are very friendly (appeals to an older crowd -- not so much a party place).
The owners of this condo take very good care of it and we were pleased this year when we came back to see the recent renovations like a walk-in glass shower, new beautiful paint, and free wirelss internet. Jan (the owner) is really easy to work with in making a resrevation and she's always been really friendly and willing to answer any questions we had.
We think this condo is a great place and we highly recommend it.

Left on 08/17/2009 for a stay in September 2008
This tastefully-furnished condo has amenities galore. It's the perfect get-away. We have stayed there four times, each time for a longer period. We're going in Nov. '09 for two full weeks, we love it so much. We can walk downtown, watch all the activities on the bay from our lanai, check our work email before OR after using the spa, snorkel within walking distance, and generally have a totally hassle-free time there. This is a very well-maintained complex with friendly and helpful staff.
