Anchorage, AKNew Years in paradise
Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Had a great time in Kona over the New Year's break. Kona Isle is located a bit out of downtown so it is a bit quieter but you will need a car or bike to get to the grocery store or restaurants. There is a small convenience store neighboring Kona Isle that we used for sandwiches, snacks, beverages and basics. The unit and grounds were very nice and the staff and residents were great. We've stayed at several condos in Kailua-Kona and hope to return to Kona Isle C2 in the future. Thanks for sharing your place in paradise!

Vancouver, BC, CanadaGreat rental on the Big Island!
Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My wife and I really enjoyed our recent trip to the Big Island, and this condo was a really good place to stay, and a definite 5-star value. I'm all about pros and cons, so I'll tell you my opinion:
Pros:
* Loved the little extras. The owners (Rod and Delana) had stocked the unit with all kinds of little things that ended up being super-useful. There were two coolers, ice packs, snorkels/flippers, boogie boards, a bunch of beach towels, laundry and dish soap... all the little things that you'd end up wanting/needing to buy or rent if you stayed at a hotel or somewhere with less thoughtful owners. Free phone calls to anywhere in North america (I called my Grandma on her birthday and talked for a while without a ridiculous hotel LD or cell phone bill).
* Kitchen has everything you need. The flat-top range was clearly better than mine at home too.
* Great Bbqs down by the water
* The condo is close to the restaurants and shops in Kailua, but not right there, so the place is quiet. White Sands/Magic Sands Beach Park is walkable, or a super short drive away. Pretty solid location.
* It's a quiet complex -- nobody was partying or being annoying; lots of older people live or stay there, and families with kids weren't tearing up the place either. If you're looking for wild excitement with the neighbors, this is not the place. It was perfect for us.
* We arrived really late from KOa airport, and just picked up the key from the lock box -- super easy.
Cons
* It's on the ground floor, which is great because you can walk out on the back patio, but some people don't like that sort of thing. Sometimes in the morning, you could hear other residents walking by your bedroom windows.
* The parking spot is a ways away from the unit, but the unit itself is not that far from the parking lot (if that makes sense).
Clean, comfortable, and an excellent value -- that's my review in a nutshell. Thanks for a great stay! -

Our 4 night stay in Condo C2 was perfect in every way! The owners of this condo (The Swords) went out of their way to accommodate us and made us feel welcome - even before we arrived. The condo itself has everything you could ask for. Sunset Bbq's BBQ with the sound of the breaking waves only a few feet away, made our evenings so enjoyable. Condo C2 was not only clean, beautifully decorated, but stocked with all the necessities for travelers from the main land. We made use of the beach towels, cooler, snorkel gear, etc. The location of this complex could not have been any better! Minutes away we enjoyed $1 tacos at Kokonuts, an island breakfast at Lava Java and a sunset happy hour at the Kona Resort; all with ocean views. Our vacation on the Big Island and our stay at Kona Isle was truly paradise found:)

Our vacations on the Big Island and at Kona Isle C2 were amazing and unforgettable. We loved the condo: well situated, very well equiped, the bed is very confortable and it was perfect clean. We enjoyed the beach mats, beach towels, boogie boards and a memorable sunset BBQ diner. It was a great and quiet place for our family with young children. We are really sad to leave but we keep wonderful memories and we hope to be back as soon as we can!

Left on 05/09/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We located our rental unit on Vrbo and arranged dates and price with the owner. Sunquest looked after collecting our payments and did so efficiently and professionally.
We are seniors and are not interested in high end resorts with extensive facilities. The Kona Isle is perfect for us in that it is in a good location , is well maintained, is ocean side and has a pool. Our 1 bedroom, air conditioned unit was clean and remarkably well equipped for a Hawaiian vacation. The owner provided beach and snorkelling equipment as well as items for picnics and barbeques.
This was our third visit to the Kona Isle and is our first choice for any trip to the Big Island. The fact that many of the people we met there are repeat visitors and that first timers all spoke of returning, speaks well of the complex and units.

This one bedroom condo was perfect for two. Everything we needed for a Hawaiian vacation was there and you couldn't have asked for better service from either property management or the owner. We liked being close to grocery stores, beaches, shopping, great restaurants, and markets. This is our second visit to a condo owned by the same owner and we'll be back.

Kona Isle is a quiet, well kept, ocean front complex. We have stayed at many units and this unit has everything you would need to have a very special trip. C-2 was by far the best stocked unit, super clean, beautifully decorated and located on the ground floor.
These owners truely know how to make sure you will have everything you will need from the stero and hawaiian Cd's to the kitchen.
We have put this condo at the top of our list for places to stay in Kona.

Thanks Rod and Delana for a great stay in Kona! The complex is in a great location on the water, a great place to enjoy a meal or a beer while watching the sun set. The unit was very quiet, despite being on the ground floor near the parking lot, and was immaculately clean. It is well equipped with just about everything you can think of. A great place to stay to experience all that the Big Island has to offer.

Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Within a few hours of submitting an inquiry of availability, I received a reply. This unit was perfect for my daughter and I: ground floor unit, so we walked right out onto the lawn and to the pool or beach area (not to mention the birds right outside the sliding glass door); fully-stocked kitchen w/really everything we needed; comfortable bed, everything spotless. The complex is private and yet centrally located: we walked to "town" more often than expected. Best: pool & it's proximity to the ocean; Worst: common walkway which parallels all units (small consideration). We researched many sites before deciding on this one, and if we ever go back to Hawaii, this is where we would stay again.

Left on 06/25/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This is a small condo complex located near Kailua-Kona and a short drive from White Sands (Magic Sands) beach and Kahaluu. The shoreline hear is rocky but they have created a nice little artificial beach for relaxing and Bbqing. The pool is solar heated, which is a nice plus.
The unit is quite comfortable and well equipped, both in the kitchen and with extras such as beach/snorkeling equipment.
The management was very friendly and helpful. I would have preferred being able to check-in directly at the Kona Isle condos, rather than having to pick up the keys at Sunquest's office. The Sunquest folks are very pleasant to deal with though.
I would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to others. -

I thought this condo was furnished nicely and very quiet and comfortable. Could maybe use black-out curtains in the bedroom.
