We throughly enjoyed our three weeks in #5102. We've always stayed in building 6 at the Kona Makai and were concerned about the location next to the driveway but it was totally a non-issue! The unique colors that enhanced the interesting art pieces were a refreshing change from the usual white walls and ocean pictures.
SunQuest was extremely prompt in answering our two problems: a non-functioning bedroom aC and washer that didn't drain. The two issues we think should be addressed by the owners: 1) mattress should be replaced, edge is OK but you "roll to the center", 2) the bathroom faucet should have been replaced when the bathroom was remodeled. It is the old, original, round, plastic head which is very difficult to use with arthritic or wet hands. -

My husband and I went to Kona for our honeymoon and stayed at this condo. The view is amazing, and it's extremely peaceful. We cook a lot because we have to eat gluten-free (and it's much less expensive ;) ), and we were very happy with how well the kitchen was equipped! It's just a quick jaunt into Kailua; it's even walkable if you are so inclined :) The owners keep a copy of the best guidebook that I've seen for the island (Hawaii the big island revealed), which we used daily. The management is friendly and helpful. You won't regret staying here!

Over all I had a very enjoyable vacation. I was a little creeped out by the little bugs & ants in the condo, but think you'll get that anywhere tropical. Really enjoyed watching the dolphins jumping in the morning, and the sunsets in the evening @ the pool.
