A wonderful condo 3rd fl-no elevator. 1.5 mi from downtown Kailua. We have been staying on the Big Island for 12 years, and the Kona Makai
suits us very well. Right on the water with great views, Bar-B-Ques clean and work well. Great pool area. Condo is well appointed with all the comforts of home. Could use some new lanai furniture, and new outside fan. For a stay of over 30 days the "starting amenities" were not adequate. Had to purchase a lot of product from Walmart/Target/Safeway/Costco etc. Homeowners Assoc have a lot of "rules" to insure their own solitude and quiet times. The grounds are gorgeous, and very clean. Gated for your security. A great place for a family of 4. 1 bd/1ba with a loft of 2 single beds. -

We really appreciated the quality of the furnishings of our unit plus the unit was supplied with anything needed for cooking which made cooking our meals more enjoyable. The property was very well maintained and the properties rules allowed for a quiet and peaceful stay.

This is second time we've stayed in this unit. The furnishings, including kitchen wares, are top notch. Would have liked to have had a nice cooler provided. Carpet in bedroom could use cleaning. A screened front door would be nice. Overall, one of the nicer units we've stayed in at Kona Makai and we've been coming for almost 20 years.

We used to use Property Network, but because of some "changes" Prince Properties are now the agent that we use for the Kona Makai. We have been coming to the Big Island for the past 10 years, as our "Island of Choice". The Kona Makai is our "condo of Choice". It's getting more and more expensive to visit the islands, and since we are on a "retired" budget, we keep looking for other locations that "may" fit our needs. Is is possible for you to send us, or offer a website, of "other properties" similar to the Kona Makai? We have made tentative arrangements for next year (2013) for 4 weeks ( 1 month), in March/April.

The unit is very comfortable. It is renovated with good-quality furniture and lovely cabinetry. The view is wonderful. We saw whales, spinner dolphins and outrigger canoes from the balcony. We were able to snorkel right off the lava at the back of the property. We did not find it to be a good walking location as Ali'i drive is a noisy place to walk. But everything else about the location we enjoyed, especially the gentle Kona breezes. No need for A/C as the unit has 6 fans. The Kona Makai condo complex has wonderful landscaping with many unusual Hawaiian plants. It was very quiet. And we appreciated the Kona coffee gift.

This was by far the nicest condo in Kona Makai we have stayed in, in terms of the furnishings and remodeling.

Would have been nice to have a few plastic plates and bowels that could be taken down to the pool area. WiFi that is available at the complex is very weak, slow and the band width isn't enough. WiFi in the unit itself would be a great addition. Also ATTENTION: The stool chairs on the Lanai are rusting and the bolts are breaking that hold the seat on the stool and legs. Very dangerous condition. One chair out of service, and another one on its way. It would be nice if the spices and other cooking items that people left behind were left available guests. That helps cut down on incidental costs for such things. Otherwise, great!

We have stayed in this facility for the past 9 years. It's a great location for accessibility to Kailua,Kona. The amenities for very satisfactory, views are great, as you are right on the water. The facility, itself, is set up for adults, because of all their rules for children under 14, and supervision etc. yet many do bring small children and have a great time, around the pool area. We have stayed in other condos on Maui, in the past, and have found out that the Kona Makai is "the best".

Long Beach, WAUNHAPPY DUE TO NOISY CONSTRUCTION THE 2ND WEEK OF OUR STAY.
Left on 11/16/2010 for a stay in November 2010
The condo Kona Makai Bldg 6 #305 was beautiful. The interior decorating was island style and comfortable. Everything you could ask for. The lani chairs were tall enough that you could sit and still see the tropical and full ocean views and not look through the rail. All applicances, dishes, towels clean and easy to use. The big problem the 2nd week was paradise turned into . With out warning or any notice, the pool and hot tub were closed and contractors moved in with jack hammers, grinders, tile cutters and a constantly running cement mixer! The slop they caused ran onto the lower lani making it impossible to use the BBQ or walk to the shore. No sitting by the pool to sun bathe or read a book. So much dust it was hard to breathe. Prince Properties and the condo owners said they were not told about the construction. They offered us two days refund, but a total of 5 days that condo was uninhabitable. Thurs. we moved to a hotel, costing us an additional $700.00 plus the time away from our vacation having to move. The contractors took up all the parking by our building. There were a lot of very unhappy renters and owners. Shame on the board of directors!

The condo was beautiful, the grounds and view were spectacular! Loved sitting on the terrace. Close enough to walk to town, which was quaint and fun. Farmer's market was wonderful! A trip to remember! Thank you!

Never saw the property manager - the office was always locked. We didn't have any problems checking in as we just completed one of the forms that was located on the door of the office. We didn't check out - sorry - was there a form for that? As well, with your confirmation of stay, it might be helpful to also provide the internet code for accessing the wireless. The wireless was hard to receive in the actual condo but had no problems out on the deck. Thanks again for a great stay - appreciated all the property had to offer.
