just loved the environment, away from the crowds and noise, but close enough when you want the restaurants and nitelife. wonderful views! great space for a larger group. The home was very well equipped, huge kitchen, space for multiple users, very open. Lots of room to spread out for privacy or come together for meals, games etc. We had a 5 month old in the group and never heard a peep at nite. service was great, easy email contact with quick response. the kids lived in the pool, and there was plenty of out door space. Only thing missing is a gas grill.

House is a dream

This house is pretty awesome. The place is very private; no neighbors to right or below, plus the entrance to the house. The view is outstanding; see the whole bay area of Kona. We were impressed by the atrium in the house. Each bedroom is seperated by a wash room, bathrooms and a hallway. Manager of house was very helpful with any questions or accommadations. It accomadates 10 people with no problem. Great Place, worth every cent.
Such a lovely holiday home

We loved Huck's Tropical Hideaway for our 7-night stay over Christmas 2013. Our party of 9 had plenty of room to spread out and the kids loved the pool. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good condition. I thought that the photos didn't really do the house justice. The only thing missing was a gas BBQ on the lanai - we were not brave enough to try out the small wood-burning BBQ in the garden and there was no wood anyway. The views are to die for and the weather in Kona was magnificent, especially when compared to Hilo on the eastern side of the island which had regular heavy rain. We would definitely love to come back again.
Beautiful home--pictures don't do it justice!

We've just reviewed from 12 days at Huck's. This is a very beautiful, well-maintained property with a view you want to come home to for sunset every evening. It's much nicer in person than in the photos. A big kitchen, could use a few more dishes and forks (sleeps 10 but only 8 dinner plates?), but these are all little things. The house is built in such a way that the bedrooms are private and quiet. The pool isn't heated so it's a bit cool...but who cares! Turn around and look at the view!!
Great house and what a view.

I booked this house for a week with my (senior) parents. The house is comfortable, and the views of Kona are spectacular, especially in the evenings. The house is clean and well-appointed, with good quality linens, towels, appliances and so forth, and is "holiday at the beach" decorated, without being so fussy you can't enjoy yourself. Also, the location worked for us -- only a few minutes from Holualoa (and the great restaurant there), and a clean shot to downtown Kona. We also liked the fact that the house could be rented with fewer than the total bedrooms -- this is a great place with a big family, but worked for us as a three-some -- the owners simply locked off the extra bedrooms.
Very little to criticise -- with the hillside (spectacular) view comes being, well, on a hillside, so if you want to bike from the house that will be a challenge. We loved the view and biked elsewhere. Otherwise, the key code we were provided was wrong on arrival (two quick calls to the management company sorted that out, fortunately), and arriving after dark was difficult as there were no lights on. I suggested they put in some motion-sensor-activated lights that would solve that completely -- these are nits, obviously -- 10 minutes after we unlocked the door they were forgotten completely but when you're tired after a long flight, etc., it's not a hassle you want.
Definitely a great place to stay for a casual week in Kona.

Rented this awesome home for a week last month and thoroughly loved it. The views are definitely spectacular. Close to shopping which is a plus to save money on not going out to eat every night. I will stay here again... Read more
