I travelled here with my 2 kids and also my parents, so our group ranged in age from 4 - 65. Plum Cottage was great for everyone. No matter where we wanted to go within Kalispell, we were never more than a 10 minute drive away -be it shopping, restaurants, water parks, lakes, etc.
The pictures you see from the owner are a perfect representation of how you will find the cottage. The place was immaculately clean upon our arrival, the only thing was that there was a strange odour in the entryway and main floor when we arrived (which I took to be the cleaning supplies used), and after having the patio door open for a while, the odour only remained in the entryway.
I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone interested in having a home away from home vacation - the little touches/extras that Kathy provides were just a small sample of how she has thought of everything to make your stay fantastic. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!Response from Plum Cottage Vacation Rental, Kathleen Pierce - 07/18/2012

I'm terribly sorry that these guests encountered an odor. That was a very unusual circumstance, and was NOT due to my cleaning products. There had been a power outage which had caused frozen cauliflower to thaw and spoil in the refrigerator/freezer. After cleaning the refrigerator/freezer over and over again with baking soda and lemon, I thought I had eradicated the odor. If I had realized some odor remained, I would have left the guests an explanation. The problem has now been solved, In addition, I have placed natural charcoal in bowls in the refrigerator as well as baking soda to absorb any potential odors.

This home is located in a neighborhood and is very well equipped with cooking utensils, washer/dryer and other home essentials. Just up the hill is a park for walking and exploring. View from property is lovely - in a very serene setting. Wished we had planned to stay longer...would definitely return!

This cute home is in a very quiet spot on the edge of town, with scenic views of the mountains.
The house had plenty of space, was beautifully furnished, comfortable, and had everything we needed!
Kathleen (the owner) was very responsive to our questions and was a very nice person.
We loved our time here! -

We were so impressed by the immaculate condition of the "Plum Cottage" upon arrival. The yard and home were spotless. The home was spacious and beautifully decorated. I was impressed by all of the care and extras that the homeowner added to make the guests stay at the "Plum" more comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, linens were very plush, cupboards stocked and labeled, the outdoor furniture and grill etc. etc. We would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone who visits the Kalispell area. We are planning on returning next year and hope that the "Plum" will be available!

Our stay at Plum Cottage was wonderful! The home was very clean, the rooms comfortable and the views gorgeous. We used the deck nightly to grill dinner and the kids enjoyed running around the back yard. One week was not nearly long enough of a stay!

The Plum Cottage is, quite frankly, the most clean and tidy home I've ever rented. There just isn't anything to criticize. The large deck overlooking the stream makes you feel like you're in the country. I'll certainly stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Plum Cottage". It was comfortable, clean and convenient to
downtown Kalispell. The decor is charming and it looks like kitchen and bath were fairly recently renovated. The immediate neighborhood is a mixture of well maintained and poorly maintained homes. The cottage itself is very well maintained and its setting with the stream in the backyard was lovely and felt rural.

we would like to recommend the Plum Cottage to everyone visiting the Flathead area but we are fearful that it's popularity would mean it wouldn't be available next time we wish to rent it!! we absolutely loved our stay...a home away from home...peaceful surroundings...close to town...a little beaver in the creek in the backyard...can't think of a single draw back! thanks Kathy for making our vacation so stress free!
