MaidstoneWhat a find!
Left on 02/20/2011 for a stay in August 2010
We had a fabulous holiday in this villa. The villa was first rate, clean and spacious, beautifully furnished and with wifi which was a real bonus for us. The pools were lovely and it was nice to chat to the other residents who were all english.
We were a bit concerned that we wouldn't get enough sunbeds each day as the block was full, but actually we did!
We went in august so it was very hot, but the air con worked well and wasn't on a timer like some we have come across.
Kalkhan was absolutely buzzing at night with an abundance of great restaurants and night life. We loved the Turkish cuisine and such friendly people wherever we went.
The only downside was that it was too hot and too far to walk into Kalkhan so we got taxis all the time, for food shopping and nights out, but we had a great taxi driver who showed us all the best places to go and helped us with shopping and interpreted for us in the pharmacy when we needed some medication for one of our girls. His name was Suleymann (not sure of the spelling!) but he was a great guy to have around I would just phone him and he would come for us!
We didn't like the beach club, it was packed full of people and the free one had nothing much there.
Overall, the apartment and pool were wonderful and we just loved Kalkhan as a holiday destination. There was a great butchers there too so we ate in several times and managed to find some wine that wasn't expensive!
We felt very safe there too. Life's too short to keep going back to the same place, but we will definitely go back to Kalkhan soon. -

i can't recommend this apartment highly enough, it was just beautiful. Very spacious and 3 lovely bathrooms. The pool was gorgeous. A bit of a walk into town up a very steep hill but you can always hitch a ride on the back of a willing local with a scooter. Pefect place for families with teenagers, not a lager lout in sight but loads of very cool bars to go to.

May need to consider renting a car, as the flat is about 20 mn walk from Kalkan center (and not 5 mn, as stipulated online).
Apart from that all went well. the only major problem with Kalkan is that it's a very expensive city! Price vary between towns and just a few miles away the town of Kas was cheaper. Kalkan is a bit of a "tourist town"Response from Mr M Taylor - 02/14/2011

I emailed this reviewer about the comment 'the flat is about 20 mn walk from Kalkan center (and not 5 mn, as stipulated online)'; we agreed that there was no reference to 5 minutes walk - probably a confusion on her part over the drive time to downtown Kalkan. That aside, it is appreciated her taking the time to write a review with her honest opinions.

Transfers from airport to apartment seamless and comfortable. The apartment was an instant hit, large comfortable and very well appointed. The views from the apartment terrace are fantastic. You have free use of the swimming pools, we actually just lay on the terrace attached to the apartment. The pool temperature in October was to cold for us , but other families did use the pools. Although kalkan at this time of year is starting to quieten down , we are glad of our return visit. All in all the apartment is above standard as are the views. Kalkan itself deserves its reputation. If you are looking for wild discos go elsewhere, kalkan is about the best in dinning and music.
Try it you will not be disappointed. -

LondonGood holiday at this flat, liked the Kalamar Bay location
Left on 01/27/2011 for a stay in May 2010
Like the previous reviewer, I've stayed in this apartment twice already, and I'd like to go again this September with a few friends if I can get us organised enough to take the same weeks off work.
One of the great things about this place - both the apartment itself and its location - is that it's got a lot of things to offer, which is useful when everybody's looking for a different kind of holiday. When I've visited before we've rented a boat from Kalkan harbour and gone for a sailing trip, visited parts of Lycian ruins, and gone to local markets to buy fruit, olives and cheese for meals at the apartment. In Kalkan town, which is a short walk or drive from the flat, there are a lot of bars which look over the sea, restaurants and shops.
On the other hand, there's also a lot to do around Kalamar Bay - at the flat there's the pool, a roof terrace and a plasma TV - we also ordered (excellent and quite cheap) food from a local restaurant a couple of evenings and then had dinner on the patio, which has great views (same views over the sea as the two bedrooms).
Near the flat are some nice restaurants, Turkish baths, cafes - and, of course, the sea. So I think it's a good area to stay - whether you want a relaxing holiday or to do more sailing, hiking and cultural stuff - and a very comfortable apartment in the right spot to get plenty of sun and a breeze from the sea. -

London2 mins walk to the sea, a lovely pool, clean and comfortable
Left on 01/26/2011 for a stay in July 2009
Had a wonderful stay in this great flat minutes away from the clean clear sea - perfect for an early morning swim before breakfast on the patio and lounging in the pool. Great rooms and bathrooms with plenty of space and all very clean.
The town centre is lovely (a sweaty walk or rent a car or moped) and there are plenty of great bars and restaurants on offer.
A lovely authentic holiday experience of Kalkan enhanced by staying in such good accommodation. -

BromleyMy stay in Kalkan
Left on 01/24/2011 for a stay in July 2010
Our stay at this apartment in July 2010 was our second and we are going there again this coming summer. That should say it all really!
We found the apartment, well equipped, very spacious, comfortable and clean. We had no trouble operating any of the equipment and if there was a problem (we had a few minor ones), they were sorted out very quickly. The views from the verandah are breathtaking and its proximity to the pool is great. It almost feels like your own personal pool. There is also a beach club just a short walk away, which gives you all the comfort needed to be by the sea.
It's possible to go to the very local supermarkets and have your shopping delivered, no need to worry about having to carry anything back and there is no charge for this.
Roll on summer 2011!
