Book now, the Olive Tree apartment is fanstastic!
The views are amazing and the pool is lovely, as is the whole apartment. We felt it was really good value for money. Don't be put off by the walk to/from town. The views are definitely worth it. We walked each way (although it may be too hot for the walk back in July/Aug!) but even so taxi's are cheap.
The weather was mid 30's each day of our mid-September stay, not a drop of rain.
We really enjoyed our trips to Saklikent and the sunken city. Book with abi travel. They were really good and much quieter than other tours we saw.
The local dolmus proved to be a good way of getting to see Kas and Patara. Get on/ off at the local children's play park. Up hill to Patara and downhill to Kas, saves a bit of a walk by not having to walk back from the bus station.
The price of food in Kalkan is more than neighbouring towns but at £10 a main you can have a really good meal in a restaurant with great views. The service in all the restaurants we went to was excellent, but our favourite was Papparazi.
Our holiday was smoothly organised by Olive Tree Travel, who provided excellent pre-holiday details and all the arrangements went without a hitch.
Thank you to all, if you hadn't guessed we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday!

We really enjoyed our first trip to Kalkan and Turkey. Villa great, well equipped and clean, pool and gardens looked after well. Fridge stocked with immediate essentials. Yali supermarket fantastic, in town. 100 plus restaurants good and vary from very cheap to expensive overlooking harbour. All food was good. Favourite foodplace 10 mins by car towards Kaputas beach 'Gunzum' good well priced food and beatiful view/cooler in evenings than Kalkan town. Kaputas beach favourite and clean and now rents umbrellas, absolute necessity if at 36deg+. Beach clubs good but busy and expensive. Kekova trip from abi Travel a must.

A gorgeous apartment, stunning view. Great pool and facilities, easy to book, easy to get to (2 hour car transfer).
Would suggest those with mobility issues either hire a car/take taxis or stay elsewhere - the apartment is at the top of the hill, about a 15min walk down into the town.
Great local restaurants, friendly people. Would recommend... but am loathe to as I want to keep it to myself! -

My wife and I recently stayed at the Olive Tree apartments for 9 days, and have nothing but great things to say about the accommodations and rental process.
We had never rented a vacation property before, and were somewhat skeptical about how to go about it, and whether it was as convenient as staying in a hotel.
Debbie (owner's daughter) helped answer our questions, walked us through the payment process, and made sure things were ready for our arrival.
Upon arrival we found a freshly cleaned apartment, with some basic supplies provided (fresh bread, coffee, water, tea, dishsoap and scouring pads, etc)
The apartment itself is in a quiet location a short walk from the town of Kalkan. Some nights my wife and I would walk to town for dinner, and some nights we decided to go to the local produce markets, butchers, and fish market to cook for ourselves. Dinner on the balcony at Olive Tree was one of our fondest memories, overlooking Kalkan, the mountains, and Mediterranean.
The private deck has ample room for sunbathing/lounging, and even has a comfortable outdoor couch which was great for evening drinks.
The pool was immaculately clean, and has the same stunning view of the Mediterranean.
I hope my wife and I are able to come back and stay at the Olive Tree apartments again soon, and would highly recommend this special place to other travelers. -

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Olive Tree apartment at the beginning of June. Firstly Debbie (the owner) couldnt have been more helpful, she sent us directions of how to get to the apartment and reccomended trips and restaurants. The the views at the apartment are amazing. The apartment is really well kept and private. We would throughly reccomend the aprtment, such good value for money. I would strongly suggest you hire a car however as its a 15 minute walk into the main town and the apartment is up a very steep hill.

We had a wonderful week in Kalkan. The apartment and pool were perfect in every way. The view from our balcony was amazing. It was fantastic eating breakfast every morning looking at the crystal clear bay. The mobile phone in the apartment was a good idea as it made calling taxis so easy.
There is lots to do and see in kalkan and its surrounding area, we especially enjoyed the quad bikes and the amazing walk at Saklikent Gorge. We would just like to say thank you to Debbie for being so helpful and efficient and would gladly recommend Kalkan and the Olive Tree apartment. -

Left on 09/14/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Lovely appartment, especially as it has the lower terrace, leading onto the pool area. Connected but slightly private. Not quite sure why the layout (bedrooms on ground floor, kitchen on 1st floor) is as it is - to eat on the terrace with the barbeque everything has to be carried through the main bedroom, unless you right out and round! but other than that the whole holiday was excellent. 2 points though - must have a car, unless you are in serious training or want a taxi each time you go down to town; and don't try to find it in the dark. Not that we did, but the first time in the daylight is difficult enough if you don't know where it is. Once you know where it is, it's a doddle, and well worth the effort. Beautifully equipped (although why no shower cubicle in upstairs bathroom ? - everything would get soaked if used) & very helpful few essentials in the fridge when we got there.

Booking with Debbie at Kalkan Villas made everything so easy. She were able to answer all my questions about our stay and everything was well organised. The Olive Tree apartment was very clean and well equipped and the pool and gardens were well attended daily. Although it is an apartment, it is very spacious, being on two floors. The apartment is a bit of a walk from the town but we hired a car so it wasn't a problem. I believe the taxi's are cheap and there are plenty of them. The fact that the apartment was set a bit out of town and on a steep hill gave rise to a magnificent view over Kalkan, one I could look at all day and night. Kalkan had many good restaurants, all our meals were excellent and we ate out every night. The locals were very friendly and welcoming and we would definitely come back. Abi Tour, located in the town, were very professional with the car hire arrangements and arranging our boat trip which is a must if you visit.

Lovely apartment with fantastic uninterrupted views of Kalkan. Plenty of wardrobe space in bedrooms. Second bedroom doesnt have direct access outside, not a problem if kids in that one but not ideal for 2 couples as access to terrace is through master bedroom. Well equiped kitchen with balcony for shaded eating & perfect for evening drinks. Lovely private terrace with sun-loungers. Shared pool but other apartments privately owned & not let out so pool not crowded. Pool maintained on daily basis - he came at 10.30 am ish which was a bit annoying as the chlorine was added then, but minor niggle.
We had a car & so access to Kalkan was fine - 5 min drive - apartment would be bit out the way otherwise, although supermarket within 5 min walk. Restaurants great but not cheap. Beach clubs good fun - Kalamar beach resort good for watersports & diving. Yali beach club good for chilling with better food & free sun-beds. Saklikent gorge great fun but leave your cameras & phones behind & swim back down river at end!
Fantastic relaxing holiday - can do as much or as little as you like -

CheshamA wonderful holiday destination

We have just returned from a 2 week trip in Kalkan where we stayed at the Olive tree apartment.
We could not fault the service we received both before our arrival and after.
The apartment is very spacious, was lovely and clean, has fantastic facilities and the views from the terrace and balcony are wonderful, it's also very peaceful at night.
If you have mobility problems or don't particularly like walking you may find the apartment a bit of a steep climb to reach, it's about a 25min walk down to the town.
Restaurants we would highly recommend: The Nar, Doy Doy, Belgins Kitchen and by far our favourite: The Likya which is a hotel with fantastic views and superb food.
Kaputas beach and palm beach club are worth a visit, you can get a free water taxi from the harbour to the beach club and a bus to Kaputas. Yaka park trout farm was a lovely day out and also Kekova island, also a must for any holiday, a boat trip around the area of Kalkan.
Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend Kalkan and Olive tree to anyone thinking of visiting Turkey.

Brilliant appartment - spacious, comfortable and with amazing views . Kalkan is a beautiful resort - fabulous restaurants and lovely people. Enough things to do but not too much!
The price you pay for the fabulous view from the apartment is the long walk down to the town which wouldn't be so bad if the way down was easier. The building of a new dual carriageway seems to leave minimal routes down and those require crossing over said dual carriageway. It's fine but you have to wear sensible shoes and need to get a taxi back so factor in at least £5 a day for that! On balance it was worth it to be up high with amazing views and few villas around you. -

Left on 09/18/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We have just got back from a 10 day stay in the Olive Tree Apartment, and it was absolutely perfect, in location and design. The apartment is spacious and light, and is equipped with everything you could wish for, from TV and DVD player to a fully functional kitchen complete with dishwasher and washing machine. It was lovely to eat our breakfast outside overlooking the bay every morning, and enjoy a nightcap before bed (the view is just as beautiful at night). We ate out in many of the wonderful restaurants Kalkan has to offer and spent our days relaxing by the apartment's pool, down at the beach clubs, at the local beaches which are stunning, or on daily boat trips. Getting down to the town from the apartment is a 20-30 minute walk or a short taxi ride. We found the walk fine as we are quite young, but it could be slightly more challenging for older visitors as some of the roads are bad quality and steep. The taxis are really cheap though so this should not put anyone off - it's great staying slightly higher as you get the views and peace and quiet at night.
I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing about our trip, and would definitely recommend the Olive Tree Apartment to anyone who is looking for somewhere newly furnished, relaxing, spacious and with (in my opinion) the best views of Kalkan. We loved it!

The apartment was very comfortable with a great outside area and pool to relax in. The main balcony provided beautiful views of Kalkan town and harbour in the day and at night, and was prefect for meals or just relaxing with a drink. The apartment was very good value for money and catered for all our family needs during our two week stay.

This apartment occupies the first two floors of a four floor building which is neighboured by a second identical development giving four dwellings in total. When we stayed the only other resident was a lady with her dog and this was at the height of the school holidays! The rooms were very spacious & stylishly furnished. The air conditioning was required and functioned very well given the 38 deg heat. The location is a 15 minute walk to the outskirts of Kalkan village down some steep and unmade roads so this would not suit anybody with walking difficulties or small children. The main restaurant area was a further 15 min walk through the main tourist areas down to the harbour. All the resturants have a person stationed at their entrance to entice the passerby but do not be put off by this. All the restauranteurs were very polite, personable and welcoming. Not the pushy salesmen found in some Spanish resorts. The food was universally good (very similar to greek food) but did range in price from cheap to quite pricey (our favourite was The Ivy). We used to walk into the village every night, eat in one of the lovely roof top restaurants, do a bit of food shopping in one of the supermarkets and then catch a taxi home (cost approx ?4.00). Although there are no sandy beaches in Kalkan, there are free boat transfers to many of the Beach Clubs. These are concrete outcrops with sun loungers, parasols and restaurants and with easy access to the sea, they also have plenty of watersports facilities. From the harbour, boat trips are available that cover the immediate area. If you want to go further afield then hire a car or taxi which is advisable as the local bus servie, although cheap, can be a little unreliable. Overall Kalkan is a very friendly resort, ideal for those who wish to roam no further than the local amenities or are using it as a base for further exploration of the Lycian coast.
