The Squire party
Formby, MerseysideComfortable villa within walking distance of town
Left on 06/05/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We found the villa to be clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the four of us. We never cook in Kalkan as a week just isn't enough time to sample all the restaurants, so the kitchen suited our needs. There is a nice large fridge and, best of all, a cold water dispenser -greatly appreciated! Both bedrooms are identical in size and with the same en-suites, so no-one would have to be "the poor relation."
The walk downhill into town takes about ten to fifteen minutes. We walked back a few times from the supermarket but the taxi is much easier. There is a very steep incline just before the villa which is enough to finish you off on a hot day or to burn off lots of calories. It depends how you view these things! The pool is lovely, plenty big enough for a proper swim and overlooks the bay. There are plenty of sunbeds and lots of other patio furniture. Our only gripe was what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle across the road which was a bit of an eyesore. I don't know if the road immediately outside the villa is due resurfacing, but it is possibly the roughest surface in Kalkan! Having said that, we have been often enough to the town to know that flatties are the only option.
It would be hard to disappoint us as this was our fourth visit to Kalkan so we know to expect excellent service and we also know that the standard of villas is superior to that we have had in other Mediterranean countries. However, we found it very easy to relax at Villa Nefis and to regard it as home for the week. We didn't take advantage of the excursions on this occasion as we were happy to relax and chill most days, but literature in the villa was very clear and informative with plenty of contact numbers. The pool was cleaned every morning at 9. We were very impressed with our transfer, a brand new air-conditioned minibus which was extremely spacious and comfortable for journeys both to and from the airport. Basically a relaxing and comfortable week which wasn't quite long enough!! -

LondonA great holiday in a perfect villa.
Left on 08/22/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Villa Nefis is a great place with fabulous views and a great pool. The air conditioning was very welcome on occasions as august temp was 35+ . Villa is close to the top of a fairly steep hill so what you do is walk down to the town and then get a taxi back - around 7-10 TL (£2.50 - £3.50 - August 2012).
Locals so friendly and the restaurants near the harbour are good especially the rooftop ones - food good and what a view! Shops a plenty and haggling if that's your thing is welcomed. Patara beach worth a visit and the boat trip from Kekova a must. Lycian ruins (again if that's your thing) at Patara and Xanthos worth a look. The gorge at Saklikent was a good trip too icy water and great places to eat by the water's edge.
Someone said they'd seen a cloud... but it was never confirmed! -

Olive tree travel's service is excellent. Amy communications were dealt with very quickly and well. We felt well looked after on our holiday.
The villa really made our stay very enjoyable. We loved the living accommodation and dining areas outside and on varanda, we had everything we needed. The views around the villa were beautiful and we enjoyed many an evening having a quiet BBQ and enjoying the views. The pool was an excellent place to relax, my 5 year old son loved it, but as the depth was all over 160m he definately needed his swim bouyancy vest-I would recommend anyone taking young children to invest in one.
We were situated up the hill, which gave us these special views, but we were able to walk down easily into the town to visit the many various restaurants. Service and friendliness when eating out was excellent, we never has an bad meal. The old part of the town is beautiful and has many excellent restaurants and special shops to visit. There are a few small but well stocked supermarkets along with butchers and fruit/veg shops. Plenty of atms. You can select from a variety of boat trips/days out. We loved the basic boat trip, again, beautiful views and gorgeous clear warm waters to swim in. From Kalkan you can visit other little towns and further west along the coast the beautiful Patara beach-well worth the visit.
We loved our 2 week stay here, I recommend it highly. I think it's the local people and uncommercialised nature of Kalkan that made it so special. We will return one day!

Transfers were on time (from hotel and back to the airport).
Very comfortable accommodation, air conditioning functioning well (definitely required!) Rooms and dining area comfortable and appropriately equipped, showers a tad small but fine. Great outdoor area and good sized pool. Easy to get into the village for shopping or outings, also taxis readily available for transport and useful information pack available in the Villa. -

Brilliant Villa with a fantastic view over Kalkan Town, Beach and Harbour.
Kalkan is full of life, has some superb restaurants and a wondeful beach.
This was our first visit and it will not be our last.
Stunning landscapes with such welcoming people.
The Villa was very clean, spacious and not far from anything. The pool which was cleaned every day was a great benefit from the fantastic weather we encountered.
We used the airport transfer which was very good and the local Car Hire all arranged via the owners.
The exchange rate makes eating out and gift purchases a little easier on the pocket.
Highly recommended for one or two weeks stay. -

Im afraid i am a very picky traveller so pleasing me is often pretty hard.
The villa itself is very very clean in a fab location - its about 15 mins walk into the village.
The village is wonderful - loads of great restaurants and shops to potter around. Everyone is extremily hospitable and friendly...even down to the dogs!!!
We did not do any trips as it was just far too hot during the day, but having said that, you dont really want to move from the villa as it is so so lovely. Abi Management were great with sorting any glitches for us (we just needed the water tank filling and they did it immediately).
My husband and I cant wait to come back to Kalkan and we will be staying at Villa Nefis again. -

Left on 05/17/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Villa Nefis sits in a wonderfully elevated position above Kalkan town (5 min walk down, 10 back up) giving uninterrupted views over the bay. It's ideal as a 4 bed Villa, but with all the facilities for two extra guests, with large poolside area, loungers, outside and inside tables etc. Ideally needs a larger BBQ. The Villa is fully air conditioned for each room
The Villa is extremely well stocked in the kitchen equipment area and we appreciated the "welcome pack" of food on arrival. Shopping is a delight in the numerous supermarkets with beautiful fresh bread and we recommend that you use the butcher, greengrocer and fish market for fresh foods.
Kalkan is a lovely old style and unspoilt town offering a large range of restaurants and we never had a bad meal or experience in any of them. People are friendly and English is well understood throughout. There is a large English residence and it's well worth visiting the Kalkan News web site for updates and events.

Left on 08/12/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Stayed at Villa Nefis with two teenagers for two weeks, hired a car collected from the airport, and appreciated it even for the short trip to Yali supermarket in the heat. We liked the independence of our own transport, but you could have a great holiday without it regardless. A very comfortable and clean villa with fabulous views and a lovely upstairs eating area to enjoy the evening lights downtown. Boat trips a must, Captain abdi and the Pina X a highlight of our stay, Palm Beach beach club also a hit with teenagers, as was wi-fi and air-con! The pool was immaculate and very welcome in the heat of July. Recommend Olive Tree restaurant and fish stalls by taxi rank for barbecue fodder. A great "chillax", much needed.

Left on 06/02/2010 for a stay in May 2010
The villa is very nice and just as described / shown on the pictures. The only downside was the distance from the main town. This is no problem if you get taxis however if you want to walk it is about a 15 minute walk. The walk into town is ok as its downhill however the walk back is up quite steep hills and tiring in the heat.
The location of the villa means it is however nice and quiet and you dont see neighbours etc from the surrounding villas, the only noise was at night from the local barking dogs. Overall the villa has everything you need and a lovely pool area which makes for a relaxing holiday. -

The villa was excellent with fantastic views across Kalkan bay.It was great to relax around the pool and soak up the sunshine.Kalkan is a lovely place with so many excellent places to eat. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and it is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. We have been to the Ovacik and Oludeniz areas of Turkey before, but they cannot compare with Kalkan - we certainly hope to return soon. The support we received from the owners in England and the management company in Kalkan was excellent. The only concern was with the condition of part of the unmade road outside the villa on our route into town, but in no way did it detract from the enjoyment of out holiday.

The villa had everything you could ask for; a kitchen, two nice bedrooms, A/C, patio, swimming pool, and a nice view. There is a walk up and down a somewhat steep hill to the villa so if you're not young and energetic, you might be breathing a little hard. The distance from the villa to the main area of the village is 15-20 minutes, which is great.

This Villa truly lived up to expectations. Everything that was promised in the description was spot on. The villa was spotless, aided by regular cleaning services and pool maintenance. The view was stunning and the location tranquil. We liked being slightly out of town and the walk down was not a problem despite being steep and rocky, once we realised how cheap the taxi's were we pre booked regularly paying between 6-9 Lira per trip.
We were very impressed with the punctuality of the transfer and the quality of the vehicle. We had a one night stay in a B&B prior to arriving at the Villa. The transfer called and aranged out collection and took us on to the villa the next morning. Everyone we met bent over backwards to be helpful and friendly.
I would definately recommend the villa and the town to anyone wanting a peaceful and friendly holiday.
Favourite restaurants were Sunset Beach and Doy Doy, the chinese delivered and was delicious too.

Villa Nefis is quite quite simply the best private
villa we have ever rented. The photos do not do it
justice. It is a very spacious very well cared for
villa containing everything you could need. The
pool was bliss but perhaps not for families with
very small children as there is no shallow end, but
for us it was perfect. It is far away enough from
the centre to be peaceful yet near enough to shops
and bars to be convenient. However, as mentioned on
the website the walk up the hill is not for the
faint hearted. In the end we resorted to Taxis
which are plentiful, reliable and cheap. Kalkan is
the nicest European holiday resort we have visited
in a long time. It is still relatively small and
retains character yet must have the largest
selection of bars and restaurants we have ever
seen. From the smallest bar to the poshest harbour
restaurant all we got were warm welcomes, delicious
food and great service. Palm Beach Club is great
and Big Mabel is a must. The day trip to Siklakent
Gorge was brilliant, after walking the gorge (take
some old trainers it's hard on the feet) we went
river rafting, then to a Trout farm (delicious)
then to see the Roman Ruins all for about £22.00. A
tiring day but well worth doing. For a more
relaxing trip a day on a boat is fantastic.
Stopping off for swimming in the warm sea and
visiting small harbours. All in all we can't
compliment Kalkan and its people enough. We realy
felt welcome and the people were so helpful and
friendly. We will certainly be returning. -

Our first trip to Turkey and Villa Nefis and we are already planning our 2010 return holiday.
The owners have thought of everything - from the airport transfers to the wonderful pool man and his lovely wife.
The village of Kalkan is a 15 min walk downhill but alot longer walking back so use the local taxis ?4 each way but well worth it.
Excellent Villa - Excellent resort we will be back. -

Left on 07/21/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks at Villa Nefis in June/July 2009. The villa was excellent and in a quiet area, well equipped and clean with beautiful views over Kalkan bay. We spent many a lazy peaceful day by the pool which was well maintained and spotlessly clean. The 10-15 minute stroll into beautiful quaint Kalkan was enjoyable although a little tricky on the unmade roads surrounding the villa. The walk back sometimes quite strenuous in the heat- but taxis are cheap! Outdoor eating was fabulous at the villa and we enjoyed several barbeques, and also drinks in the evening before heading off into Kalkan to eat at the many superb restaurants. We voted our favourites as Nur, Coast at Gironda and Sofra, but we did not have a bad meal all holiday. Lovely friendly people providing us with excellent service.

We had a fantastic holiday in Villa Nefis, Kalkan.Everything was just as the owner had described. The villa was perfect and really close to Kalkan which had a good range of shops and restaurants and was within walking distance of the villa. The town beach was lovely as were the other beaches which we travelled to with the hire car. The area has a lot to do for adults and children and is very safe (2007). The villa is cleaned regularly and the couple responsible are very unobtrusive but are willimg to help if you need it.The views are fantastic(2007) and I would highly recommend this villa as the perfect place to go for a realxing break.

We had a fantastic time in villa Nefis. Fantastic views and everything you could want in a villa, the pool was lovely and kept our two boys occupied for hours. The villa is beautifully maintained and very clean.
Kalkan itself is a fabulous gem of a place, very charming. It is traditional and yet has some very sophisticated bars and restaurants.
I would highly recommend it and I think the area has something for everyone. -

Left on 06/01/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Stayed at Villa Nefis for 2 weeks in May with my wife and 15 month old daughter. The villa is well equipped and as described in the brochures.
The real highlights of the villa are the large private pool (NOT a splash pool) which is maintained daily by Jumali and the outstanding views. If you can drag yourself away from the villa Kalkan village itself has an abundant charm and many restaurants. The locals are also very welcoming of young children in all the restaurants.
The villa is up a steep hill however (hence the great views) so be aware that the walk back can be arduous. There are plenty of taxis in town so this is easily avoidable. Also note that Yali supermarket has free delivery so stocking the fridge up is no problem.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be looking to return at some point in the future.
