Additional Location Information
Kalkan has become a place preferred by many people now, with its clean boarding houses, and restaurants of fresh appetizers and fish; above the mountains of Kalkan is Islamlar.
From Kalamar bay, a leisurely 12 minutes drive will take you to Islamlar village & Trout Farms. Take a morning drive for breakfast or afternoon lunch or dinner and visit one of its many trout farms, vineyards, Water mill, and restaurants.
This part of the Lycian peninsula is a living museum. You can visit Patara, Letoon and Xanthos from here, and return by sailboats during the same day. The Harbor of Yesilköy opposite Kalkan, and Kalamar bay provide a natural inlet for all year round anchorage.
Night Life - Among the many roof-top restaurants and bars on the Lycian peninsula, Kalkan perhaps offers the most stylish ambiance. Food is a fusion of regional turkish,
and mediterranean cuisine at its best. Beer is cold and from the Tap; the cocktails mildly potent with a byte; music is live jazz, blues and traditional Turkish.
Historical Sites & Archeology - In this remote region the sites of over thirty cities have been found which allows us to study the culture of the Lycians. The most obvious features of the Lycian landscape the tombs and sarcophagi left behind, with Byzantine churches.

NorwichFantastic villa, stunning location, great value
Left on 08/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We have been renting villas for over 10 years but this one was the loveliest. The views over Kalkan are beautiful by day or night and there are lots of places to take advantage of them within the villa and its grounds.
We loved being able to choose from several places to sit and eat around the villa, and to have green spaces and mature plants was lovely - our villa looked like a little oasis! As the centre of Kalkan is within walking distance (taxi return a must though due to steep climb!)we expected the villa to be overlooked but in fact it's very private. Looking at the photographs I assumed they were taken with a wide angled lens but now I realise the rooms are in fact as spacious as they appear to be, with super-efficient air con and excellent facilities throughout.
Our highlights were the beach at Lettoon (not that easy to find but well worth it - vast, sandy, quiet) and the wonderfully friendly beach cafe there - we even saw baby turtles and dolphins. The boat trips are great for snorkelling and just relaxing, and good value given the food served. There are plenty of smaller boats taking a dozen or so people which run from Kalkan harbour. Tubing down the river from Saklikent Gorge was brilliant fun.
Kalkan itself can appear deceptively quiet during the heat of the day but really comes alive at night with so may excellent places to eat. We particularly liked the food at Belgin's Kitchen and the ottoman eating terrace there.
For lazy days at the villa there were local shops within a few minutes walk and a local pizza restaurant with beautiful views and a cooling breeze.
We had great service from the our initial enquiry onwards with all our questions answered promptly. Communication was excellent throughout and everything went smoothly.
Wherever we went we found people to be genuinely friendly, easygoing and generous. We wanted to throw away our passports and stay for the rest of the summer! -

The villa was an absolute dream, idealic location with panoramic views of Kalkan (a car rental is a must), beautifully furnished, spacious, wonderful pool and bbq area.
The team that maintain the villa and ensure its smooth running were unobtrusive and Murat was a great help, nothing was too much trouble. We got to meet Mustafa the owner who rented us the dream villa. We can't wait to book a return visit.
Thanks for everything.
