All round year holiday destination with historical sites and fantastic beaches (Patara Beach). Kalkan is a historic fishing village set in a fantastic bay with breathtaking landscape and is the ideal getaway nestled in the heart of the Lycian region of the Turkish Mediterranean Turquoise coast.
Kalkan is a harbour town set in a bay with a breathtaking landscape. It is located on Turkey’s south west coast, between the towns of Fethiye (85 km to the west) and Kas (27 km to the east). With dramatic views of the Taurus Mountains behind and shimmering sea views of the Mediterranean to the front of the town.
Kalkan is known for its horseshoe harbour full of fishing boats and gulets, its narrow streets, Ottoman houses and roof terrace bars and restaurants where you can leisurely dine with a fantastic choice of many restaurants whilst watching the sunset over the harbour and listen to the call to prayer from the waterside mosque.
Kalkan has numerous boutique-style shops selling an array of jewellery, clothing, leather goods, Turkish carpets and lighting. Every Thursday there is a local open-air market selling anything from fresh vegetables, clothing, household goods to herbs and spices. A great place to wander round and do a bit of bartering. Ladies, there is plenty of choice for retail therapy !
Kalkan is ideal for couples looking for a romantic break but also suits families or groups of friends.

LondonAbsolutely fantastic villa
Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Some people commented on the accessibility - so we hired a car, and therefore had no problems getting places.
We were welcomed at a very antisocial hour by (I think) Linda - a very nice touch. The accommodation was beautiful, with an unparalleled view over Kalkan.
We had one week towards the end of the season there, and would have no hesitation in recommending Pinara Villas to others. -

Left on 10/24/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We were met on arrival by Sally who showed us around and made some recommendations for dinner. Sally came back several times during our stay and was really helpful. The villa was beautiful and immaculately clean, just perfect for us a party of 6 consisting of 4 adults and 2 children. Great large kitchen, living dining area, all 3 bedrooms well sized and all had en suite bathrooms. the infinity pool was bliss and we enjoyed the most amazing view of Kalkan. Outside there was a dining area and also a beautiful shaded seating area. The pool area and the gardens were tended every day by Selhatin who was just lovely, he offered to get us anything we needed eg fresh bread in the morning. Nothing was a problem for Sally or Selhatin ... What a great team! We would definitely book again with Truffle. The villa is high up on the hill and is a 15-20 mins walk down hill, uphill walk not for the faint hearted but taxis are cheap and plentiful. Downtown there are some great restaurants, our favoritres were Sade, Agoda, Kalamaki and Coast. Just a few minutes walk from the villa is the Hotel medeteran, we went for lunch a few times, the food is very good and the staff really friendly, I would definitely recommend going there if you don't want to go down town. I would highly recommend a boat trip with Yidiz, Captain Osman and adem and their wives will look after you very well and the food is fantastic. Much better than the larger boats. All in all a fantastic villa, wonderful views, great staff to ensure that you have nothing to worry about during your holiday.

Left on 09/27/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Having stayed at Kalkan previously, I'm aware of the average quality of villas. However staying at Villa Jasmine has made me accustomed to a whole new level of luxury.
Everything, from the patio/pool/location/interior/fittings, was fantastic and meant I had a great holiday with my girlfriend. We went as a couple this time, however will definitely be renting this villa again next year with a group.
Highly recommended! -

WiltshireBeautiful villa with stunning views.
Left on 09/21/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We arrived at the villa at 2.30am, to be greeted by Sally, who was very welcoming and showed us around.
Next morning was like waking up in Paradise ~ The view from the bedrooms was truly breathtaking!
The lounge and dining area was very spacious and the beautiful staircase makes a great feature.
The villa and grounds were immaculate, and the staff were excellent at maintaining the pool area, changing the bed linen, etc. without being intrusive.
The master bedroom has a large shower (not a bath), and the guest double a shower cubicle (not a wet room). I only mention this because they were not as described on the website. As 'Truffle' bathroom toiletries were inclusive I didn't pack any, but they were not there on arrival(problems with the supplier), we got some at the supermarket although Sally brought some shower gel/body lotion around mid week.
~ The bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch.
The beds were very comfortable, except that the twin bed mattresses were very firm (my 18 and 21 yr old daughters thought, a bit too firm).
We had been advised by friends not to hire a car, as taxis are so cheap; however, the mountain is so steep that in hindsight it would have been advisable. We walked down to the supermarket, harbour etc, and taxied back up. Even the walk down was very hard, and my hips ached after each trip!
A fantastic and memorable holiday, the only downside being getting up and down the mountain! There again, we wouldn't have had the wonderful view if we had been in a different location...and it was so worth it! :0)
We took a boat trip to Kekova(Sunken City), and had a thoroughly great day. (Had we been there another week we would have booked another.) The local market was an experience; 'genuine fakes' in abundance, but we got some nice souvenirs to bring home.
Also, so many nice restaurants and not enough time to try them all, so we will have to come back!

Left on 09/11/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was our first trip to Kalkan and we had a fabuouls two weeks with freinds staying at Villa Tulipa. The viiew is one of the most stunning we have had on holiday and the villa is very private too. The level of care and service from everyone at Pinara villas was brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. In the 15 nights we were there the villa was cleaned top to bottom and the pool areas was kept spotless everyday. The quality of furnishings inside and out was of a very high quality too. Taxis to and from Kalkan harbour were quick and relatively inexpensive but we hired an 8 seater VW so we would recommend a vehicle for ease. Kalkan is very hilly so might be a problem if mobility is an issue If you like food then this is a great place to come on holiday and considerably cheaper than eating out at home. We would recommend Sade, Coast and agorra and Kaya for the kids (if you like magic!). We went to the Gorge which was a brilliant day out for more adventurous types but avoid the main restaurants on the river as the food was pretty poor. Xanthos was great too, very atmospheric and you can climb all over the ruins. Loved Kalkan & the villa so would recommend highly.

A truly lovely villa. We were 6 people, 4 of those under 3! It was perfect. We were met by Sally who showed us round the villa. Every day, someone came to clean the pool and garden area. Brilliantly equipped villa. Pool and it's view simply amazing. Spacious, pleasant. A good week's holiday. Mosquitos - bit of an issue at the start but war was declared and they soon retreated! A good boat trip had. Lovely stay on the coast. You do need to drive in to town but that is easy either with own car or taxis. We were also recommended a trusted babysitter which was great! Lovely stay.

We stayed at the Jasmine Villa for 5 days and had a lovely time. The villa was clean and very comfortable and definately had a wow factor when seen for the first time. Pool fabulous with great views. The website was clear and informative and the pictures were accurate - which is important when you are booking online. Also the onsite manager was very helpful. Fabulous situation, but you would definately need a car to get around. I think the best feature is the view of the sea and marina from most bedrooms and the downstairs areas. All in all, great holiday - not long enough.

We have recently returned from 10 days in Kalkan. Although not the first trip to Turkey, this was our first time in Kalkan.
The Villa was spacious, very comfortable and clean and the view was as per the pictures...breathtaking!
The villa team were superb especially Selahtin who was around to offer help and kept the gardens looking great - even cleaned out the barbeque after we used it.
From booking to pick up at the airport, all operated smoothly and Nigel was always quick to respond to any pre-trip queries.
Kalkan itself is a smashing little town. It has so many restuarants and we didn't have one bad meal.
Will be looking to return -

AberdeenVilla Tulipa - brilliant view
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Pinara villas were great to deal with - all emails answered quickly. Villa was exactly as described - really spacious and modern. We were there in July and as very hot,air conditioning was a must. The view was fabulous - never got tired of coming out of the villa and looking out over Kalkan. Pool was great and plenty space around the pool. Sunbeds are fine but not so good if you like to sit up and read a book while sunbathing. Lovely shaded area to sit and used this area throughout the day and after dinner at night to have drinks - view just as good at night. Rooms were all large except the studio which was a bit on the small side. The location of villa is a little way out of kalkan town centre where the nearest shop and restaurants are and is a good 20 minute walk into the main town -all downhill to town, but hills are pretty steep and in the July heat still quite tiring walking down - never walked back from town - always got a taxi which costs about £5 to villa door. But to get the view you have from villa was well worth it. Kalkan is a lovely little town and has loads of restaurants - from reasonably priced to the more expensive near to the harbour. The town is also built on a hill and therefore be prepared for a climb on your return journey.
Loved our stay at Villa Tulipa and Kalkan is a lovely little town and people so friendly. This was our first time in Turkey and will return again without hesitation.

From the moment we arrived and the welcome we received from Sally and Selahatin we knew that we had chosen correctly.
The villa was spacious, well taken care of and beautiful. Our girls were over the moon with it as were we.
Selahatin is a diamond in taking care of you. Hatije just couldn't help enough in the house
Would not hesitate in recommending this to anyone else. -

Excellent large Villa, stunning views, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Ground floor open plan with central lounge, kitchen/breakfast bar to one end dinning area to other... Wide spiral staircase to levels 1 and 2. Three bedrooms, One twin, one large central double and another comfortable double, all with great en-suites. Curved front balcony links all bedrooms. Top floor; utility and roof terrace. Further studio under pool sleeps 2, entrance around front garden. Great settling for views across bay and onto harbour. However very steep walk to/from Kalkan, around 10 minutes going; ok going to town, & simple £3.50 taxi ride to return to villa would be recommended. Wi-fi connection in villa was intermittent and not great. Airport transfer approx 1.5 hour, but Kalkan is a wonderful place for restaurants, boat trips, beach clubs and generally relaxing around the villas infinity pool..

We hired three of the group of four villas in the complex and were more than impressed with the quality and standard of the accommodation and facilities. In every respect these are "quality" villas and represent good value for money. All arrangements worked to plan and additional requirements were met with quiet efficient management solutions. All in all a very professionally run facility which we all agreed we would recommend to propsective users. Personally I have put Kalkan on my list of places deserving of a second visit.

We were met at the villa on arrival. The villa was great, very clean and lots of nice touches i.e. housecoats, slippers, shopping bags, toiletries etc. Any small problems were sorted quickly and efficiently. The villa is one of the best we have stayed in, it had a fantastic view and the only compromise was it was a little too far and too steep to walk into town, but the taxi service was great. Our party was made up of two families and the teenage daughters said it was the best holiday they had ever had. The information book in the villa had great information on the local area and we used its recommendations on several occasions.

Both Kalkan and the Villa Tulipa were fantastic. The organisation by Nigel and Truffle Residences was excellent from the pick up at Dalaman back to being dropped back off there. Everything was timely and hassle-free. All the Truffle staff in Kalkan were easily available and quickly dealt with any (minor) problems that arose.
The WiFi in Kalkan is intermittent which, personally, I didn't mind as it kept my wife's eye off work!!
The location of the villas is as good as the pictures suggest and all in all this is a lovely destination for both families and adult only groups. -

Had a fabulous stay here. The villa and pool are beautiful, and the view over the bay is stunning. Only slight disadvantage is the distance from town. It's walkable there, but coming back not for the faint-hearted as it's all uphill! However taxis are easy to arrange. Level of support from the owners and local staff also excellent. All in all highly recommended

What an amazing villa. High in the hills looking down over the charming Kalkan - so peaceful and relaxing. Truffle residences really have thought of everything you will need. The villas are superbly furnished and immaculately clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool and the views are superb - many a lazy day could be spent lounging at the side of the infinity pool, glancing out over the horizon. With regards to the loaction, it is very hilly and we would really recommend a car to get to and from town. Once you are in Kalkan, it remains hilly but the wonderful restaurants and delightful little shops and boutiques seem to take your mind off of it! All in all an amazing villa, in a breathtaking location in the enchanting town of Kalkan.

Left on 09/03/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Villa Tulipa is a very clean and spacious villa with a lovely well kept pool and pretty little garden below where the small studio is found (quite a lot of steps down). There is a shaded area on the patio which was very welcome in the august heat. The view from the villa looking down to the harbour and out to sea is beautiful. Although not many minutes into the town by car, we would not have liked to walk either down or up (it's very steep) in the heat of the summer. A car was essential even though we managed with just 1 car for the 9 of us and did a couple of trips if we all wanted to go into the town. There are some restaurants which provide free transport and we went out to one of these trout farms one evening. The villa was very well managed by Truffle Residences who were always on hand for help and advice.

We stayed in this villa in August 2010 when it was almost brand new. It is beautifully fitted out with a great attention to detail. The villa and pool are immaculate. Any queries we had were dealt with quickly.
The location high above Kalkan harbour means that you enjoy absolutely stunning views. However, the walk to the town is a bit of a treck in the summer heat and a taxi back absolutely essential!
There are numerous restaurants in the town. Boat trips leave from the harbour and there is a small, clean beach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would recommend this villa! -

We thought it looked good on the website but nothing prepared us for just how good everything was. We arrived at 2am to be met by Nigel (who had arranged the very efficient airport transfer) and our hired cars. we sensed from the twinking lights beneath us that the view was something special, and when we drew the blinds the following morning we were not disappointed: the view around the bay was stunning. Nigel visited regularly to make sure that everything was okay, and the Turkish handyman/gardener and the cleaners were brilliant. The villa was spacious and very well appointed, but most of our time was spent on the terrace and in the infinity pool, which was enjoyed by everybody. The Truffle-themed extras (robes, slippers, toiletries, beach bags, towels) were a lovely touch. Our only minor quibble was the intermittent wi-fi, but this was due to factors beyond Truffle's control. A car was necessary, because the walk back to the villa from the town would defeat all but the fittest. Overall, the villa was an excellent base from which to explore the delights of Lycia.

We travelled to Kalkan in Turkey in July 2010, staying at one of the Pinara villas ran by Truffle Residences. We were greeted by Nigel who runs Truffle and he was incredibly helpful and informative. The journey from the airport was hassle free as Nigel had arranged for our hire care and a driver to transport us and this was an added bonus as we were travelling with a 8 month old baby and this was a real help. This villa is simply stunning with style, comfort and an incredible view which greets you every morning. We had an amazing holiday and were so impressed by the levels of service we got from Truffle and in particular Hatice, the cleaner and Sanattan the gardener who I can honestly say made the experience even more enjoyable, having thought of the little finishing touches and attention to detail which always make a holiday even more memorable. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough for families as they have thought of everything that will make your life hassle free which is essentially what you look for when taking children away.
All in all, we had an amazing holiday in an amazing villa and the location gives you the best view over Kalkan bay although you do need a hire car to get into town and this takes about 5 minutes so no real inconvenience.
