Island beach is a sun swept paradise during the summers months with turquoise water and white sand for kilometres. Le soleil is raised above ground to give maximum sea views whilst allowing you to still feel a part of the Australian bushland surroundings, with wild wallabies and kangaroos feeding just below the deck in the evening light. Le Soleil is close to some of Australia's best reknown beaches and famous sights. We stayed in Le Soleil for a week over New Year and honestly couldnt fault the house / location or indeed Kangaroo Island itself! We were two families (5 kids) and the house was the perfect size and layout - plenty of space, clean, new, modern, light and equipped with all we needed. What a memorable holiday...nearly 5 months later and writing this review is making me want to go back :)
p.s on our last day we discovered the Kangaroo sanctury behind the local store on Island Beach...we had explored the entire Island and seen/done some amazing things but this was a highlight! -

We spent 4 nights at Le Soleil over the Easter holiday weekend. The house is brand new, very comfortable and well stocked. Perfect for a family or group of friends. The back deck looks out to Island Beach and at night and early in the morning we had many kangaroos and wallabies eating right in front of us.
Island beach is a perfect beach for families. Shallow water with beautiful white sand.
The island itself is beautiful. We wish we had more time to explore and will be back. Le Soleil is very close to Penneshaw with a small grocery store and a few good spots to eat. -

We recently did a 'rellies run' through various regions of Sth australia ;Adelaide, Yorke Peninsula, Goolwa) and we managed to tack on 4 nights on Kangaroo Island...and I am so glad we did!! Le Soleil was a fantastic escape from it all!! The other reviews describe it perfectly so nothing to add there- I would however like to mention how well provisioned it was - with 2 kids we often holiday in units/houses and mostly find poor quality kitchen utensils and crockery and empty drawers! Le Soleil has enough basic necessities to make life so much easier on holidays! Paper towel, glad wrap and alfoil and plastic bags right through to a few tea bags, coffee etc , salt and pepper grinder, olive oil, matches, candles, enough dishwasher tablets and washing Detergent to get you through!! I really appreciated this!! Add some board games, magazines and a pack of cards... Oh and the divine setting- and we were in heaven!!
As for KI itself- loved it!! The kids had a ball - so much to do, see, eat and drink!!

Brand new building, fitted out with quality furniture and accessories. Excellent finish throughout. Caught fresh whiting and sand crabs literally just off Island Beach in front of the house. Wallabies and Kangaroos feeding off the balcony. Relaxing, laid back atmosphere. As advertised on the webiste, it truly is an "assault on the senses." Highly recommended.

Booked this on a recommendation from the owner's mum!
There was just something about the description and the photos that appealed.
We arrived on the given day; everything was as described and pictured - perfect! A substantial 4 bedded, 2 bathroomed house with a modern open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge in the centre, with a full size deck towards the sea and a further deck at the top of the stairs at the entrance.
The location suited us down to the ground - passing traffic was the odd kangaroo, a 'couple of locals' - 'wallabies', and many birds only seen in this unique part of the world (glossy black cockatoos, fairy wrens and black currawongs, to name but a few)
Le Soliel sits on 'stilts' about 200 metres from Island Beach which is accessed through the scrub. Although there are properties in the vicinity, Le Soliel has an unimpeded view towards the sea. Everything about the property was 'new' and with continued concentration on keeping the property and its contents to a high standard of comfort and cleanliness this property is a 'goldmine!'
We spent 5 days here, using Le Soliel as our base for touring the rest of Kangaroo island, and this visit only touched the area. 'It would be nice to return...'Response from sam kennett - 11/10/2012

Awesome pad, great location. Surrounded by nature and wildlife, Le Soleil has absolutely everything you need. The deck is an amazing place to sit and relax offering a view of the sea and sunset. Perfect for short or long stays. Loved it!
