SydneyHeavenly Holiday Retreat
Left on 02/07/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Cassini Beach House is a beautiful, luxurious yet relaxed haven fitted out with consummate skill and loving care. The beachfront location provides privacy, glorious expansive views, a tranquil swimming beach and ease of proximity to Penneshaw and Kingscote. We enjoyed day trips all over KI, at the same time knowing that upon return we'd be re-entering a slice of heaven. Cassini's owner, Fiona McLeay, is a gem! Her thoughtful, friendly yet highly professional service enhanced our pleasure. If you're after a spacious, high quality KI holiday escape in a serene environment then my family and I have no hesitation in giving Cassini Beach House our highest recommendation.

AdelaideSeclusion, views and luxury
Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in October 2012
A comfortable distance from one of the main towns in Kangaroo Island (Penneshaw) - and accessible via a brief gravel road (perfectly fine for non-4WD).
Just metres from ocean, with smooth sand beaches and blue water. House surrounded by young healthy trees. Views from the deck at the tree canopy level make for a strong sense of isolation (of the good kind) which is interesting as there are houses on either side. Design of house makes for excellent views from all the main rooms (main bedroom, kitchen, lounge).
Very tastefully appointed - fully functional kitchen and high quality appliances. Deck tables and chairs well maintained. Decor choice really invites you to relax and put your feet up. Attention to detail obvious in the range of cooking utensils/appliances and nice touches such as torches and binoculars (which you will use). Personal welcome letter was a nice touch :)
Lounge area has excellent TV/sound system and open fire, with a good selection of magazines, books, Dvds, games etc. Downstairs section (the place is big!!) can house a whole second group with additional bedrooms, bathroom, lounge area and minor kitchen facilities. Open plan arrangement makes for a great sense of space. Big glass doors maximise the view from inside.
Building is quite new at the time of writing this review and hence everything was in good working order. Would work well for couples, families or large groups.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and used Cassini Beach House as the base for daily excursions around the Island. Visitors to Kangaroo Island should be aware that a fair amount of driving is required to really see all parts of the Island. Main roads are excellent. Gravel/dirt roads are common, but generally high quality. Only a small number of areas restricted to 4WD only.Response from Fiona McLeay - 12/11/2012

AdelaideThe best beach house I have ever stayed in!
Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The whole experience of renting this house for a week in July this year was easy, informative and a pleasure. The directions to get there and get in were excellent. We arrived by ferry on a beautiful warm winter's day, walked along the beach, read on the deck and after dinner settled in to sit by the open fire.
The house was so warm upstairs, due to double glazed windows and the fire, that we didn't even know it was winter outside. We woke the next morning to the sound of the ocean and could see the view of the sea while lying in bed.
The house is beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are brand new and modern, beds very very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. The view and sunsets were amazing. The window seat in the living area gets warm north sun and is the perfect spot to read or watch the view.
We also absolutely loved Kangaroo Island. It still has the feeling of being remote and untouched. The ecological development blends so perfectly with the local environment. The seals at Seal Bay were my favourite but I think our two children would probably say they preferred Quad Biking and visiting Little Sahara. My husband loved fishing and caught King George Whiting off the jetty at Penneshaw. We also ate local Marron we bought at american River and we bought honey and yogurt from local farms.
I can honestly say that our recent stay was one of my most relaxing holidays. I can also speak for my family who all said they would love to return again to KI and Cassini Beach House.

Thank you for your comments. We also find winter a great time of the year to enjoy all that Kangaroo Island has to offer, with a much milder climate than we have in Adelaide and definitely quieter all around. The window seat is a prize spot for a bit of sunny relaxing and quickly claimed!!
Well done to your husband with the fishing - nothing nicer than having whiting straight from the sea.
Please come back, we would love to see you again at Island Beach. -

A brilliant house, packed with everything you could ever need. Stunning fireplace kept us warm all weekend and ample books, magazines and games for the rainy days. Well set up to cater for large families with ample room for the kids to be away from the adults.
Brilliant spot with stunning views over the beach - can't wait to head back in summer. -

Cassini is the ultimate getaway, nestled in scrub and moments from the most beautiful beach and with 180 degree views of the ocean from the magnificent deck, you could sit all day alone , or with family and friends, ( its a generous deck ) watching the sea, or play all day on the beach popping back regularly for sustainance or take a hike or a lingering stroll in the fresh air and feel that you are in one of the world's most sought after and luxurious destinations. This secluded location offers peace and tranquility with all of life's luxuries and it's only a couple of hours from adelaide . Left on 05/14/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Cassini Beach House is a fantastic place to stay on KI. It is a very handy 15 mins from the ferry and an ideal spot from which to explore the rest of the island. When you arrive at the house you are immediately mesmorised by the beauty of the view over the beach. The house itself is of a high standard with all rooms enjoying a fabulous view. We especially enjoyed the balcony for sitting out and enjoying the peace and tranquility. The main living area was very spacious, brilliant light well equipped etc. The beach was beautiful and literally on your doorstep. Can't wait to visit again one day and will certainly be recommending to others. Thank you Fiona and Brooke.
