Grey Gums is a recently constructed, unique and charming owner-built house, hand crafted from recycled materials and sandstone coloured Timbercrete bricks. Surrounded by tall gums, there is the privacy of 12 acres for you to explore. The house features quality woodwork, fittings and furnishings for you to enjoy. It is light and spacious and exudes serenity.

Surrounded by tall gums, there is the privacy of 12 acres for you to explore. The house features quality woodwork, fittings and furnishings for you to enjoy. It is light and spacious and exudes serenity.

There are 4 bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed and one has a king single also. There is a 3 way bathroom and an ensuite bathroom with the master bedroom which has a bay window. 2 spacious showers and a double ended bath tub add to the comfort of your stay.

The large, well equipped modern kitchen has a coffee making machine with grinder and there is an outdoor barbecue.

A selection of teas and coffee, milk and free range eggs from our gorgeous hens are provided.

As we make our own electricity and solar hot water, collect rain water, and take care of sewage on site, you can minimize your environmental impact.

Relax in front of the cosy, wood fired heater to watch TV ----- or lose yourself in a good book. There is a variety of indoor games and lots of perfect holiday reading in our collection of books and magazines.

Kangaroos, wombats and a variety of native birds frequent the property, which backs on to a nature reserve overlooking the Kangaroo River. There is a 0.5 km native plant identification walk on the property for you to learn about some of the native flora. For those energetic souls, or those who love a casual stroll, walking to the Kangaroo River through the nature reserve provides for some very scenic bush walking through Scribbly Gum forest and dry creek bed (usually!) for a refreshing swim.

We have just completed the hot outdoor shower and bathtub for your enjoyment. It is very relaxing and romantic to watch the stars from the hot bath tub or for a quick shower after a hard day's enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.

A ping pong table, pool table and foosball table are also provided for your enjoyment. There is plenty of space for backyard ball games. For the more active, there is a tandem bike for your use to explore the area, 2 body boards to take to the beaches or if the river is up a bit, you can use them to surf the standing wave at the historic sandstone/suspension Hampden Bridge.

We are keen to keep it rented and will do what we can to accommodate you.

It is only 5 mins by car or a 20 minute stroll to Kangaroo Valley's boutique coffee shops and cafes, as well as interesting shops and galleries to browse.

Kangaroo Valley is a cyclists' paradise. There are a number of excellent road and mountain bike trails to enjoy.

For those people who would like to enjoy the 'Flavours of the Valley' cooking classes, j2 minutes up the road from Grey Gums, we will apply an additional 5% discount to our accommodation.

Rent canoes to paddle the Kangaroo River or fish for carp and bass.
Horse riding, swimming, tennis, golf, cooking lessons ..........

Situated half way between the Highlands and the Coast, Kangaroo Valley is an excellent base for exploring these regions.

  Quite simply, we loved it. The Kangaroo Valley area is quite beautiful and we had many adventures there. The accommodation was great, very peaceful with lots of nooks and crannies to hideaway and read the paper or have some (organic) eggs in the morning. Plenty of space and pillows! for the kids and grown ups to get comfy. It even has a table tennis table outdoors for the young ones.
