This was our second year staying at Kaha Lani 129. We love it. The location is great. Our kids enjoy being able to walk right down to the beach. Lydgate Beach is within walking distance and our whole family enjoyed snorkeling there.
Kaha Lani is a great complex. Just a short drive from both Lihue and Kapaa. We used the pool daily and also took advantage of the BBQ grills.
The owners have done a great job upgrading the unit. A new larger TV made rainy days and nights more enjoyable for everyone. There is also a new mattress in the master as well as new flooring in both bedrooms and new granite in the kitchen. Now, if the owners will upgrade the living room furniture the place will be perfect.
Garden Island Properites is great to work with. Absolutely no problems. We plan to continue vacationing at Kaha Lani as often as we can. Read more

We stayed at this condo from Feb23 to March 2nd. We had a very relaxing time. The positives were
quiet end condo, nice overhead fans, comfortable bed, nice kitchen, outdoor grilling areas to use and mingle with other guests, and a beautiful grounds and Pool.
The TV is very tiny, more like a Lap top.About 14 inches. We had to pull up chairs so we could watch it. The remote did not work, so we had to push the buttons on the side to change channels, sound etc.
We didn't call anyone to fix the remote, we only watched TV for a few hours each night so it didn't seem worth it. WiFi worked great. Some info about local channels would of been helpful.
The beach view is very small. If we came again I would try to book closer to the pool with a better view
This is our first trip to Kauai, was not prepared for the mosquitos.
We couldn't sit on the lanai at dusk and not get bitten. We tried to go to the beautiful Pool at night but to many bites sent us back in doors. Bring or buy some citronella candles.
I should say it wasn't just at the kaha lani, we also stayed at the courtyard Marriott and could not have our door open at night either.
Overall our stay was great and we loved the lushness of Kauai

We stayed at this condo for two weeks and I have to say it was a wonderful place to spend our time on Kauai. The positives of this condo outweighed the faults, however I will give some more detail.
Shower door in main bathroom wouldn't open
Wifi was spotty (lost it for the last three days our our stay)
Occasional smell of sewage outside from neighboring treatment plant
Cooking pans were terrible
Furniture was worn
TV ridiculously small (probably a 14 inch)
Great location, short walk to Lydgate park and play area
awesome beach (Best on east shore)
Nice private location (set back from ocean a bit)
Great yard for kids
Well stocked with dishes
Great, well-kept pool
Comfortable king size bed in main suite Read more

Modest condo, but well equipped. The condo is end unit at the north end of the complex, with privacy and nice yard space around it. A very short walk to beach and walking paths with ocean views. The internet transaction with Garden Island Properties was very easy. Only one negative is that we asked for the twin beds to be pushed together into king. That never happened. We would consider coming back here again.
Great location with great beach access!

Finding an affordable condo that slept 6 and on the ocean was not easy to find! Then we found the Kaha Lani Resort, Unit #129. We were a little apprehensive about this one because some of the reviews didn't sound too good but it was available so we reserved it. The check in process was very smooth. We checked in after dark and there was a security guard making his rounds who directed us to the condo. Some of the furnishings are a little dated (sofa) but who cares, it is a rental. It was clean and had everything we needed, right down to the beach toys. The fact that we were a short walk to the ocean was perfect for our adult kids and the fact that there was a nice pool close by was great for our grandson. The resort was quiet with the exception of the occasional rooster making himself heard. Only problem we had was on the first night. The smoke detector started going off at 3:00 a.M. and because it is hardwired, we could not get it to shut off! We reached someone at the office at 9:00 a.M. and they immediately came out and fixed it. Apparently salt air corrodes the detectors after awhile. No problems once fixed. All in all, it was clean (with the exception of the floors), comfortable, great location and reasonably priced. We would stay there again! Read more

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Kaha Lani 129. It is a great property; located between a golf course and Lydgate Beach Park with Kamalani Playground; excellent for swimming/snorkeling. We do apologize for the smoke detector and glad we were able to assist you right away. There is tile flooring in the living and dining area and often times gets moist with the constant salt breeze blowing into the condo; definitely giving it a "beachy" feel. We do look forward to having you back again! Aloha from Kaua`i!

While at first I thought it was to expensive to stay at the Kaha Lani the experience was rewarding. The condos are very nice with full service and all inclusive. The accessibility to out side cooking areas is also a nice feature especially if you prefer outside grilling. You have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. The location is great because you can travel easily to the north or west and access the entire island. You also have access to a fantastic beach walkway and the opportunity to Lydgate park and one of the only swimming areas that is In closed and ideal for small children. I would have to say one of the best features of this location is the easy accessibility to the entire island. Read more

I was happy with the stay, although I thought it was a little pricey
I wasn't informed that in order to watch TV, you had to pay.
I did like the location. It was centrally located and nice and quiet. It was just a little tiny jaunt to the beach and it was nice. I also loved that we had no cockroach problems.. That was a huge plus!!
I would return if my budget would allow me in the future.

Our entire family goes to Kauai about every year or so The Inlaws used to own a place here at Kaha Lani unit 124 & its gorgeous Since the family rented about 6 units here this trip we got to see a good sample of whats available here at Kaha Lani & they all were amazing with exceptional amenities like large flat screen TVs even in the bedrooms, washer & dryers beautifully tiled showers & floors nice appliances comfortable beds beautiful furniture welcome baskets with fruit & coffee etc all of them that is except for this one unit #129 it's a wreck! The bath tile floors looked newish but everything else looks like it probably did back before hurricane Iniki struck in 1992 Beds were atrocious, the kind that cave in when you lay on them, although someone had stuck some plywood under one side of the master bed trying to make it better, we didn't get one good nights sleep Carpet in bedrooms had a sticky red dirt trail & since we followed the take off your shoes rule thats what we got to walk on in our barefeet Living room had an 18" TV seriously? my computer monitor is 32" There is a free wake up service mon wed fri at around 7:30-8:00 am its the trash guys picking up the bin kaboom! and its right outside the master bedroom Would I stay here again? Never! Would I recommend it to a friend? Never! Would I recommend it to you dear reader? Never!! By the way the $1050 rate, plus fees and taxes, ends up just a hair under $1400 Do yourself a favor throw down a couple hundred more and stay in one of the nice units and love your vacation instead of hating it Okay so what did we like? We love the location of Kaha Lani in general, close to the airport costco walmart Kapaa town lots of good places to eat Bubbas, Scottys Dukes etc You're kinda midway between Poipu and Princeville so it's an easy drive for adventures on either end of the island. Bring your uke to Kauai!!!

Great locatin and property grounds are well taken care of. Condo needs alot of tlc. Seemed to us unit was managed by someone on a very tight budget. We had to ask several times for items like dish towls paper towels soap etc. We did report a leaky dishwasher and had a new one the next day (nice). Things we felt the unit needed was a larger tv (17 was what was there)Wirelss internet. Working remotes for dvd etc, cutting board, beach chairs etc. Master showere needed recaulked. The apartment was so far o.k., could have been cleaner.
The air-refresher in one sleeping room was so terrible, we could not stay in that room even.
Also there where no curtains at the windows to the kitchen, the side of the living/dining room. Very inconvenient during the night, considered to the fact that it is a base level apartment. I once catches 2 garden workers (Did i mention that there wasn't a single day without noise and disturbance because of gardening/landscaping?) standing exactly at that side, watching us, while smoking a cigarette.
The usability is so far quite O.K., if you believe everything like wash machine and dryer included and expect that the apartment itself is equipped with those, you're wrong again, there is only a public washroom with a coin operated machine (3 of 5 are broken..) available between 08: Am and 10:00 pm.
Curtains have been installed in kitchen window.
Washing machines and dryers are all in working condition.
This unit is advertised as an ocean view unit, not oceanfront; nice lawn fronting this ground floor, end unit with ocean views.
Good location, poor unit.

We liked location of this resort, which provided an easy access to either north or south parts of the island. Man-made ocean lagoon provided safe swimming for our kids. Trails for running/walking are a plus. Multiple restaurants and grocery stores within 5 min drive. We were disappointed with amenities in the unit itself. Everything looked kind of old and worn out. This is not our first time renting vacation condos in Hawaii, so we expected something better for the value we paid. This unit is in a need of makeover. Read more

I really liked this particular unit. It was very roomy, with a dining room, living room, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. From the living room you could open the sliding doors and walk right out onto a great big lawn, perfect for impromptu games of soccer or frisbee. You can see the ocean (a bit) from the porch as well, and when it's quiet, it's a very relaxing and pleasant place to be.
However, there are 3 things about the location that make it a little noisy. One is that the unit's bedroom windows face the parking lot.
The other is the proximity to lydgate park. On one hand that is nice, because you can walk to the park. But unfortunately, parts of Lydgate near Kaha lani are popular with locals who like to park their cars and listen to music with deep bass pounding out the speakers until 1 and 2am. Not fun.
There is also a large soccer field just on the other side of the fence from the unit. There can be a ton of cars over there if there's a game going on.
So if you are looking for a true 'get away from it all' retreat, and a haven from the 'real world', this probably isn't the best place to stay. Maybe the units closer to the inside of Kaha Lani are more protected from the noise... I'm not sure.
All that said, I would stay here again, just with the realization that it isn't the quietest place in Kauai. Read more

Aloha & Mahalo for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your Unit #129 at Kaha Lani Resort
The soccer field near the condo property is behind this property with ample parking around the park area which does not interfere at all with Kaha Lani. Prior to the soccer field, it wasjust tall bushes that was a potential fire hazard; so over all, its nice to see manicured grass with children enjoying themselves. Fortunately this unit is located on the far northern end of the property and at the tail end of the parking area. This ground floor unit is nice for walking straight out onto the lawn and down to the ocean!

We enjoyed our visit at condo 129 at the Kaha Lani. It had a large living room and dining area which made it nice for two couples staying together. It had been updated and painted. The furniture was nice too. The beds were comfortable. The grounds, pool, and grill were well maintained. The view of the ocean was awesome. The paved path and long beach were great for long walks.
The only suggestions for improvement would be a second TV in the bedroom. The CD player and the toaster need to be replaced. They did not work. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.
aloha and mahalo for your nice review. We will definitely take care of the can opener, CD player and toaster! Thank you for letting us know! Garden Island Properties

Kaha Lani Condo 129 Rating
Left on 07/21/2009 for a stay in April 2007 | tjpaq83
The condo was well situated, next to a not yet occupied/completed soccer field, and in a quiet area, away from the hotel/motel areas, which is ideal for peace and privacy. The grounds and pool were very nice. The condo we stayed in is a ground floor unit, but was nonetheless quiet. The kitchen was decently appointed, but could use some updating. Bedrooms were spacious enough, and comfortable. We liked the lanai, and the closeness of the walking path. The roosters were rather noisy in the morning, but that's life on the island!! The laundry facilities are located in a separate, central building, which is not as ideal as if the washer and dryer were in the units. All in all, I'd rent there again, considering Kapa'a is ideally located halfway between the north and south points on Kauai, and the price was decent. Garden Island Properties was good to rent from, as well. No problems, whatsoever, considering we got in around 10pm that night!
A very good experience in a tropical paradise!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Kaui, Hawaii, at the Kaha Lani Condos. What we most enjoyed was the wonderful view out our front window and from the deck area of the breathtaking ocean and limitless sky. We also really enjoyed the chickens that ran free on the grassy area all around the condos. Our kids really enjoyed the creative play structure down the beach, and the walking access to the lagoon for swimming and snorkeling. We were also pleased at how large the two bedroom unit was, lots of space for us to spread out.
A couple of minor annoyances to be fair: Unit 129 backed onto the garbage area, and very early every morning it seemed we were awaken by the garbage pickup routine. The second issue was the carpet in the unit was very dirty, and we never did see any cleaning staff for the unit while there.
Overall, we would definitly stay there again. ONe more thing, as a golfer, I appreciated that this place was 5 minutes down the beach from the best municipal golf course on the island!!
