The condo was absolutely perfect for us. We liked being on the 3rd floor - beautiful tall ceilings and no noisy people above us. Kapaa Shores was very nicely kept with beautiful grounds. The pool was nice and warm and very clean. The residents were fairly quiet. The condo had almost everything we needed (could have used measuring spoons and a cooler.) Loved eating out on the small deck every day. The appliances were in great condition. Loved having a washer/dryer in the unit. Beds were nice and didn't seem to slope towards the middle. Loved having two showers since we had four people staying there. Kapaa Shores was smack in the middle of the island so perfect for visiting the northern and southern parts of the island. Having grocery stores, restaurants, etc.. nearby was definite bonus. Only downside would be the beach. We had to walk over a few developments to the nicer sand. We would definitely stay here again.

This condo was clean, nice, and convenient! The only downfall is no air conditioning and there wasnt a fan in the first bedroom!!! also they have quiet hours...which means no laughing outside after 10p. But I'd stay there again easily!!!

Manager
Mahalo for your review! Kapaa Shore Resort is not air conditioned; but is right on the ocean. We were glad to have been able to loan you a fan for your use. Quiet hours do have to be enforced to ensure the comfort for all guests but we are glad to hear you'd like to return. Aloha and mahalo from Kaua`i! Garden Island Properties LLC

We loved unit #324! Everything was there that we needed, and everything was in good working order! Loved the furniture, and comfy beds! It was hot...which we loved too...but slept downstairs, and jumped in the pool often. Thanks! I hope and pray we can make it back there someday!! God Bless

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was our first time to Kauai, and this condo was very comfortable for us and our three daughters. There are just 2 beds, but the youngest was on the sleeping pads. The location was great. We had some tiny ants in the kitchen...but just kept everything in the fridge.

Marysville, WA.What a perfect place to stay to see Kauai
Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We arrived in the last down pour of the week long storm in the dark. We were greeted at the office with a smile and a "glad you made it" comment. All of our questions were answered, keys given and a clean condo was waiting for us. Since I was staying with 3 gourmet cooks the kitchen was the first place of interest. It was fully stocked with all the things 3 good cooks needed, all we needed was the food, which we bought from the two stores across the street and a few farmers markets on the island. The two bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and very accommodating. We woke each morning to a hot tub visit with new people to meet each day...it was paradise.
Kappaa Shores is located in a perfect place to see the island, which we did. And to return to our room everyday was bliss. The entire property is keep very clean and I enjoyed talking to the crew that keep it that way.
This was one of the best weeks of my life staying at Kapaa Shores and I will return to this unit every chance I can. It is perfect for 2 couples or a family to stay and enjoy this beautiful Island.
Now me being a guy and staying with 3 beautiful women than can cook may be a good reason too.
We will return

Left on 03/15/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My family of five stayed here and it was wonderful. We were centrally located to see the sites on the island. We enjoyed having a full kitchen to cook for our family and the barbeques by the pool were wonderful. My children loved meeting new people in the hot tub. They always came back with new stories of what else we needed to see. The condo was clean and comfortable. The condo had everything we needed and then some.

Left on 02/01/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We just spent a month in unit #324 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The location is perfect - quiet, great ocean views, within walking distance of shopping and restaurants and very close to the municipal golf course. From our lanai, we saw whales just offshore almost every day. This is a quiet resort, catering more to adults than children, which is what we prefer. The condo was well appointed, and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and good quality appliances. All in all, a most enjoyable stay.

We had a really nice experience staying in this condo and would consider staying there again if we stay in Kapaa on our next trip. The condo was confortable for our family and we had the essentials to cook right there which was a bit of a cost savings for a family of 5. The pool area and grounds were nice and kept clean. The location was good. It was nice to be close to town. And the view was beautiful. We saw some great sunrises! I was a little dissapointed that there wasn't an area for the kids to play at the ocean right there. We did have to leave the condo to play on the beach. Also just so you know room keys for other rooms will work on the front door to this condo. We had another couple unlock our door and walk in while our kids were napping. I would recommed this condo to other friends and family, but one little thing, the condo might be a little small for 6 adults. It fit our family of 5 which includes 3 young children perfectly, but I could see the space being tight with older kids or adults. We had a great time and hope to be back soon. Thanks!
Response from Garden Island Properties LLC - 11/08/2011
Manager
Mahalo for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Kapaa Shore Resort. We will check into the door locks. Each unit has a specific coded key so perhaps the door may have been unlocked; thus the guests were able to open the door. We are glad to hear that you'll be back soon! Aloha!

Loved the place and the location. Provided easy access to the entire island. Condo is situated right on the ocean - see the ocean, feel the breeze. Pool and hot tub were great - adequate size and temperature. Loved the BBQ grills but they were very busy most evenings - could use another one.

Service at check in was great. Grounds & pool area were immaculate. Bbqs work great. We had a positive experience overall however there are a couple of things to note. Eating area in the condo was small for 4 people. Plumbing in need of work - 2-3 flushes for #2. Water in the shower ankle deep by the time you're done. Property manager blamed this on "old plumbing" but the neighbours we spoke to didn't have this problem. The furniture was quite uncomfortable, Tv's older and small screen. The windows in the downstairs bedroom don't close properly and whistle all night if the wind is blowing (which it almost always does). No aC could be a problem if it gets really hot although the trade winds blowing through the unit kept us really comfortable. Great location, on the ocean, full ocean view. Located within walking distance of groceries, shops and restaurants. The condo is also quite central on the Island so that you are about 30 minutes from both South and North shore beaches and trails. We would in all likelihood stay here again, not necessarily this unit but this complex for sure.

Left on 08/11/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The condo is beautiful. The grounds are not fancy but lovely and perfectly groomed and clean. It is a generally older crowd. The pool closes at 10PM and quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8am. I loved this, and our teenage kids adapted. They had a great time, despite the lack of kids their age. We did not spend a lot of time there - we were out and about most of the day and only there for dinner and sleeping.

Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This complex is located in Kapaa with a Safeway a block down the street. Kapaa is a funky homey town on the East coast. The complex is very well maintained and has beautiful ocean views. The condo itself is updated with plenty of dishes stocked. Stainless steel refrigerator and tile floors really added to the condo. We did have to buy more toilet paper (odd) and there was no laundry detergent. I would say about a 2 1/2 star accommodations. Down side - no one had stayed in the condo for more than a month before us and the cleaning people did not clean it freshly. With the moist air, dust was trapped on everything. And I had to clean all the floors and surfaces because of dirt. There was no dustpan or mopping supplies so I had to borrow from the main office. Kitchen had a slight ant problem even after the pest control folks sprayed the complex. Sue, the property manager, was awesome! I will be staying there again even with the small inconveniences.

The unit was clean and open. There was 2 bedrooms & 2 baths which for 2 people was great. We had an ocean view which was a plus. Negatives: no air conditioning, unit infested with fleas (we all got bitten & had to bomb the place), unfriendly office staff when we checked in. This was our first visit to this property, not sure if we would rent here again.

We had a great experience at the vacation home. We're a family of 5--2 grown students and 1 teenager. We were very comfortable with the space, the well-stocked facilities, clean, updated furnishings. It was so nice to have laundry facilities, dishwasher and appliances to eat in, grill out or pack a picnic. It's located on our favorite area of the island for lodging--ideal for heading north to surf or south to sun. The only negative was getting used to the humidity w/o air conditioning. We highly recommend a stay at this condo.

Our condo was clean and waiting for us to move right in. The Garden Properties personal was helpful in making reservations for next year.
with the ecomony the way it is, we will enjoy a
discount. they are very knowlegeable. we enjoy Kapaa so location is great for us. Our condo was
just re-furnished so it is very nice. the only
other amenitie we would have liked, was a TV in
the downstairs bedroom. this last year the weather
was the worst we have experienced in 12 years, rain
and trade winds almost everyday- but you take what
you get in that department. we like the pool area
and hot tub, also the yard area, nice to sit and
relax. They were doing a little construction on the
building, but they really tried to make it pain
free for us. thanks for having us as guests.

My family and my husbands family all stayed in many different rooms here at Kapaa Shores in March 2008 for oure wedding. We stayed in 324 we had an excellent view of the ocean and there is nothing better than waking up and going to bed to the sound of the waves. The room was very clean and large enough for us and 2 children. Has a kitchen and 2 bathrooms which was very nice. Very comfortable just like home away from home. The outside of the buildings is kept nicely never did I see any garbage on the ground. Pool is great for the kids and the adults too:) I would recommend Kapaa Shores to anyone in fact my mom has stayed here 6 times I believe same room every time she loves it. I will be back in 2010 for sure. Thanks again for the wonderful experince and great hospitality.

Check in was very easy even though we arrived late in the evening. The unit was lovely, clean and totally furnished. We rented the two bedroom as there were originally to be 4 of us but ended up only 2. We took the sleeping loft to avoid any noise from the hallways. The location is very convenient to shopping, restaurants or strolling the shoreline. There was no "least" we thoroughly
enjoyed all aspects of the resort and would certainly rent again and refer friends and family. -
