My wife and I stayed in this property for 12 days. The Condo was very clean when given to us. Since we stayed for more than a week, we would have appreciated if they had made arrangements for the Condo to be cleaned midway ( Changing the towels and the sheets etc ). Other than this request, we enjoyed our stay very much.Greg and Sue were very helpful in responding to all our requests.
We would also like to request the management to consider changing the check out time to atleast 3.00pm instead of 10.00am This will help the guests to leave to the airport on time. ( Most of the direct flights to the main land - la or Sanfrancisco, are late in the evening.) -

Plantation Hale is so well located with so many good features, that a stay at most any of the units will probably satisfy you. This was our 5th time there - 1st time in G-7. The managers were very responsive to one issue we raised that had nothing to do with G-7, but was related to unpleasant security staff - for whom the concept of hospitality is still a puzzle. The paradox is that there is new emphasis on controlling the pools and premises and excluding locals who want to use the facilities without bothering to rent a condo. This seems to be working. The 'guilty till proven innocent' mentality is what troubled us.
Moving along to G-7. Furnishings are lovely and actually lighter and more comfortable than the ones in the condos that are run by the onsite management company. This unit faces a quiet courtyard, a minute walk to the closest of the 3 pools and also to the well-maintained gas grill which we used 3 times in 8 days. Only hiccup was the broken TV in the bedroom and Garden Island Properties - the management company for G-7 - is urging the owner to replace it. The flat-screen in the living room was perfect. Wi-Fi from the Plantation Hale company is fast & free. For those on a budget, I have never found anything with as many good features (including a/C!) as there are at Plantation Hale - unit G-7 is a terrific example of what I mean.
One more thing - www,kauaiproperties.com - web site for Garden Island - is a good place to look at a number of rentals around the island if Kapaa is not where you want to be. Good people, good managers.Response from Garden Island Properties LLC - 07/23/2012

We do apologize for the delay; but it was shipped to us and prompty installed! On site management is aware of the Security issues and hope it will no longer be an issue to our paying guests. We stayed at this apartment for a week and it was one of the most relaxing weeks we've had as a busy family with little kids. The apartment was perfect, air-conditioned, clean, comfy and the kitchen had every imaginable cooking gadget one would need on vacation. The apartment is well lit, and the hardwood floors make it feel airy and nice. Unlike when we are in hotels, we loved having the separate room for the kids to nap in while we rested in the living room. The bathroom was nice, clean and had clean towels both bath-towels and beach-towels. True that the beach in front of it is not a swim beach, but it is so centrally located that you were anywhere between 5 or 30 minutes away from great beaches. The beach in walking distance, while not a swimming beach, is perfect for long walks, perfect for gorgeous sunrise pictures, and great for little kids to play in the sand. Would go back to this apartment in a heartbeat.

Depending on weather conditions and ocean condtions, the closest beach is swimmable but perhaps not for little kids. We do recommend you go to one of our many life-guarded beaches on the island such as Lydgate Beach Park which is a short 5 minute drive. We do look forwards to having you back!

This is a lovely comfortable home away from home - had everything I needed, including a very comfortable bed (which is important). Kapaa is the ideal place to stay on this beautiful island - easy, short drives (which I loved) to either the north or south shore, with great shopping and restaurants, and a church that I thoroughly enjoyed. People are so friendly and helpful. And I must mention the monthly rate - one that I could afford - I so appreciated that. I cannot think of a thing that I didn't like. I am hoping to go back.

Very clean, lots of kitchenware. Everything you need & more, Beds & pull out couch were comfortable. Swimming pools & hot tub were clean. Not too crowded. Did not hear neighbors. Comfortable furniture. Would stay again.

Plantation Hale was very clean, conveniently located,
good facilities, and moderately priced. We would
definitely stay there again. In fact, we will be
staying there again in just a few days! -
