      Awesome rental!

Left on 01/28/2013 for a stay in August 2011

This condo was perfect! The view was better than we expected. The condo itself was beautiful and was very spacious. The location was great too, walking distance to shops and restaurants. We would stay here again no question. We actually tried again this year, but the condo was already reserved. Next time we will try to reserve earlier.

      Great find!

Great Condo, Value, Location = Great Vacation.

Left on 09/10/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Wailua location, relative to the rest of the island, is a good starting point if you want to see Kauai. Easy travelling to Ke'e beach or Polihale from here. Close to the airport, rugged beaches with swimming, short distance to shopping in Lihue and Kapa'a, memorable nights at Cafe Coco right across the street, (Byob, stagger home).
The Condo is very well equipped. Walk down a short stairway off covered parking right to the front door. Entry way fit the family and everything for the days activities, walk out the lanai doors to amazing morning sunrises, pool and beach. The doors open right up for a spectacular open feel and a real ocean connection with the sound of the surf. Walk a short way north along the beach to the break wall end of the bay and swim. The rugged beach is beautiful but the current is strong for young ones and the shore break can be difficult. Amazing beaches are nearby and you will want to see and swim at them all. Rented bikes in Kapa'a and rode up the coast finished off with a swim at Kealia.
Two Bedrooms are comfortable and quiet with en-suite bathrooms. Kitchen very well equipped with everything you need. We ate almost every meal on the lanai glass table. Way too many Margaritas there too. Played Yahtzee and cards until we fell into bed exhausted from the day.
Living room has lots of seating and the couch is so comfortable our son slept there every night. Tv DVD is there but I think we only turned it on once for an hour.
Local residents are friendly and invited us to a pot luck full moon party where we met some very interesting people. Made use of the barbecue after picking up some fresh local seafood at the grocery store in Kapaa.
Mornings are beautiful sitting on the lanai, coffee , breakfast, planning the days adventure.
All arrangements, smooth and trouble free. Left some items in the condo and Shawn very kindly returned them by mail. Hope to return next summer.

      Relaxing, clean, and spacious condo

Left on 09/09/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We loved our stay at Shawn's condo! We stayed with another couple and found the accommodations to be very clean and the condo very spacious! We were told by several people we met on the island that these are the best condos on the island! The view of the private beach from our lanai was breathtaking...the pool very clean and larger than it seems in pictures. Overall, the pictures don't do it justice. Truly a beautiful place that we would for sure stay at if we return to Kauai. The only thing that would have made it more comfortable would be if there was a/C. Thank you Shawn for sharing your beautiful place with us!

      More than paradise!

Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Our trip was a three generation adventure. The condo was spotless and very comfortable with so many extra items for indoor/outdoor living. We never heard noise from neighboring units. The condo never got too hot even without air conditioning. Multiple fans plus an open sliding glass door were all we ever needed. to stay comfortable.

Shawn (the owner) could not have been nicer or more acomodating.

Not recommended for persons with physical disabilities or the very elderly due to steps down to the condo and one step inside the condo. Other than those two exceptions I would highly recommend this condo to anyone.

There is a little mom and pop farm fresh fruit store right across the street from the condo. The fruit was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

      Paradise!!!

Left on 05/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011

We stayed at Hale awapuhi with another couple in Feb. 2011. I can't say enough wonderful things about this condo!
First of all, the view of the ocean alone is worth every single penny we paid! We had amazing sunrises every single morning that we would look forward to while we enjoyed our morning coffee. We even saw whales lobtailing right off the shore. The condo is fully stocked with anything you might need and then some. The washer and dryer was a huge bonus to have on vacation! We could wash all our sandy/dirty clothes everyday if we needed to. There are many restaurants and stores within walking distance of the condo which was very convenient when we didn't want to drive anywhere.
Shawn was a joy to work with! He was very accomodating to our needs and let us have a very late check-out since our plane didn't leave until 9:30pm. We would most definitely come back to this little place we called paradise!!!

We were wonderfully surprised when we walked into Hale awapuhi condo. It was spacious, clean and the view was amazing. There were five adults in our party and we all felt the same way;comfortable and so sorry when it was time to leave. We all enjoyed every part of our stay, from cooking in the over equipped kitchen to just sitting on the patio watching the world. We look forward to hopefully staying there next year. You will love this place!

My family recently stayed in this beautiful condo which is centrally located on the island and was fabulous. The condo has an absolutely amazing view from the living area and lanai. That alone was worth the stay but we got so much more.

The condo was very comfortable and well equipped. Our family felt very at home and we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. He made many great recommendations and was very accommodating. We had an amazing time and we loved our stay.

We loved it. It was quiet and peaceful with a fabulous view and a hop, skip and jump to the beach. The condo was very comfortable and furnished very nicely. We often had the pool to ourselves and the whole property is kept very clean and neat. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat!

As a travel agent that booked for the above client.. Shawne made it very easy to work with..nervous at first not knowing but all was great. Can not wait to book more clients!

Our best escape from the mainland

Left on 02/04/2010 for a stay in July 2009

My wife and I have two very hectic jobs, we wanted a very relaxing break in a private setting. This property, the condo, and location on the island all exceeded our expectations.
This is a residential condo-furnished by the owner with everything you need to have a great stay.
The view from the property was exciting because it is not confined with over-development.
Because of all the amenities in the condo we could easily go snorkeling, come back shower, go shopping, and then go out again. The physical location on the island is ideal.
      We plan on returning soon.

If you are going to Kauai stay here!

Left on 02/01/2010 for a stay in May 2009

Probably the best place to stay in Kauai. You walk out onto the lanai and the ocean is right there. You can walk down to the ocean. Very private and quiet.

We went there in May 2009 and had an amazing time. The condo is located in a great place on the island-easy to get to the North shore or down south. Having the pool right there was nice too.

Super quiet. The only noise is the ocean. We cooked dinner in the condo and ate outside a few times, listening to the ocean and just relaxing.

A great thing is that you can save $ by going to the grocery store and cooking/preparing in the kitchen. You don't have to go out to eat for every meal. That was a great plus! And it's super clean.

We were talking to a realtor in the area and told them where we were staying and they said it's one of the top places on the island.

If you have a chance to get to Kauai and stay here, your time on Kauai will go from good to outstanding.

      Best Vacation Ever

Left on 02/01/2010 for a stay in October 2009

My girlfriend and I stayed at this condo from the end of 10/29/09-11/9/09. The location is perfect and we were able to travel the entire island due to the central location. The condo is modern, cozy, and has the most amazing view. It has all the amenties you would want including a pool, bbq, A/C, and wonderful bathrooms. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Kauai. By the end of the trip my girlfriend had become my fiance. What a romantic spot.

      Couldn't Be More Pleased

Left on 01/26/2010 for a stay in May 2009

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Hale Awapuhi and can't say enough about the fabulous location and ammenities provided. We had all the comforts of home in a gorgeous vacation setting...kitchen was fully stocked with basic supplies such as foil and plastic bags...so refreshing for a rental. The condo is very well taken care of and matches the pictures shown online. Our expectations were exceeded...when you walk outside and take in the views of the ocean and coconut palms you'll know you have reached paradise on Kauai. The men in our party enjoyed fishing and snorkling a few steps down from the back patio, while the women enjoyed the view from lounge chairs at the pool. The drive to Hanalei and the hike up the coast were a blast. Loved the local sushi...can't say enough about the location. The small town of Kapaa, with shopping and eateries, and the Coconut Grove shopping center are a short walk away...as is the remains of the old Coco Palms resort. We can't wait to return...next time we may skip Honolulu all together. Also, the owner was very accommodating to our travel plans and provided an abundance of information to help us make the most of our time in Kauai. We so appreciated his hospitality and assistance.

      Hidden gem on Kauai

Left on 01/25/2010 for a stay in September 2009

We didn't know what to expect coming to this condo complex because we hadn't heard about it in the past. We stayed at Wailua Bay View many years ago, but this condo feels more like home and not a hotel room.

We loved being so close to the ocean and the pool there is so nice and private. We also loved seeing turtles from the condo and there was a monk seal on the beach there.

We do highly recommend staying there. We have very fond memories of Kauai!

      Paradise on Kauai

Left on 01/25/2010 for a stay in November 2009

This is our second booking here. The place is really nice, clean, fairly new (remote controlled lights, fans, etc.), and relatively safe. There's also a LOT of random extras, a LOT. I loved the big kitchen. Wi-fi was free. There was a printer but we didn’t use it. We like that it's private and on the beach. On both stays, I had the pool to myself and the beach which I shared with less than a handful of people, and a guy fishing. There was a sushi restaurant, a pizza shop and a quaint little soup shop outside the gates. Down the road were some resort shops, and more food places. We walked almost everywhere but you need a car to see the rest of the island and waterfalls. Our favorite was star gazing from our lanai. On both stays, we saw turtles out front. We were hoping for Whales but guess we were too early
