This was not our 1st stay at Plantation Hale with our most recent prior stay being in about 2007. Since then it seemed to us that both the hotel and property (J1) has been slowly aging - aren't we all. Cupboards have become outdated, an overall paint job would brighten things and even the lighting (mini-fluorescents) tended to make things look dull. Kitchen stove was very old and microwave low wattage. On arrival we noticed a number of cleanliness issues including dirty curtains, bedding, carpets, ceiling and ceiling fans. The minor issues were addressed quickly by management. Although we enjoyed our stay we'd think seriously before renting this site again

The apartment was very nice and clean. It has everything you need for a short stay. A great place to start your trips to the north and the south of the island. Nice beach just in front of the building. A lot of restaurants in the close surroundings.
Only negative point: The 3 Lane Street in front of the building. We were woken up every morning by the noise and sitting on the balcony was not always a pleasure. -

Wish they would have checked shower to make sure it was working properly before renting it. It was a 3 day inconvenience with the drain not properly working. Especially over 4th of July.otherwise everything else was good..very clean and reasonably quiet.

we spent our honeymoon at a very small motel on kauai,and it was great in 1981! we have stayed at the plantation hale before,however,this particuliar unit is really wonderful. the owner's have done a great job on remodeling the unit and it was a great place to spend our 30th anniversary. the resort is centrally located and as a travel agent,i book the hale very often for client's. you can get anywhere on the island easily from there,which ever way you choose to go! aloha, sincerely,randy and cyndy kroon

This was a great rental in Kauai. Plantation Hale is in Kapaa which is a central point in Kauai. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The property we stayed in was in excellent condition and we appreciated the extra touches the owners have left. We used the beach mats every day and the cooler was great to throw in the car when we were out and about. The only problems we had were minimal and not worth writing home about! Thanks for a great stay!

J-1 is a clean and comfortable home away from home.The pool sits just 60 feet from the door and only a 3 minute walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. Centrally located to everything on Kauai. We will definitely be back.
