      D-405 Waipouli Beach Resort

Left on 03/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013

The resort was fantastic! Our family loved the pool and hot tubs. The grounds were well maintained also. The room was very clean and spacious. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be your choice. The elevator is across the hall. You couldn't hear people, but could hear the elevator every time it would start to run. We were used to it by the second night. The sofa bed is really bad! We ended up putting the mattress on the floor, with all the extra blankets and comforters under the sheet for padding. Without the extra padding, our skinny children could feel the springs. An air mattress would be a quick and easy fix. The table on the lanai is nice to have meals on, although it is quite small. Overall, we would come back to the resort, but would select a different room.

This a very nice place. Very upscale and clean with lots of room. Allthough it is on th 4th floor it is close to the elevator so you it takes no time to get where your going.

      Centrally located condo rental

Left on 02/15/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Was the home clean and in good shape?; master bedroom table lamp not working, living room pole lamp not working, living room TV remote control not working, small bathroom off kitchen light bulb above sink one was out. freezer door took two hands and leverage to get open and the worn out couch hide a bed was not fit for adult sleeping.
Was the vacation rental management staff helpful? I called multiple times for repairs to the items listed above and only the master table lamp was repaired.
Pool; too cold, it was the temp of the ocean water so everyone including children was in the two small hot tubs. I had been at the Hilton and their pool water temp was much more reasonable than here.
ocean at resort; not for getting into
      shopping; near and good variety
location; central to other places on the island
night life: go to bed at 9 PM, limited cultural activities unless you go to a luau.
      parking; plenty of it
view; mountains and Safeway parking lot
traffic; seems there is a bottleneck if you want to go south for 20-30 minutes
What really disappointed us was the pool temperature as it was a selling feature to us when we rented this unit.

      mixed review

Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The location was great and the pool was excellent. The appliances in the unit were top notch. The grounds were pretty and well-maintained. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the unit we had reserved did not work and apparently there is no way to have it fixed on a Saturday afternoon so we had to move to another unit, that did not seem to be quite as well equipped and had a pure parking lot view. It took several hours to resolve this. The ice maker in the second unit did not work and several of the outdoor grills did not work properly if at all.

Left on 02/19/2012 for a stay in February 2012

Unit d405 is a beautifully appointed condo. From the appliances to the linens, there was no expense spared here. The view of Safeway, rather than the ocean is the only drawback. The property overall was fantastic! Pool area is awesome, and the property is centrally located on Kauai. We did have the fire alarm go off at 5 a.m. One day and all guests were ushered outside... We found out later that this happens at this property occasionally due to something with the moisture in the air... I would definitely stay here again. Last note is that the restaurant on pro
Earth was not very good at all. We tried many things on the menu, and were never satisfied.

Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in November 2011

Waipouli beach resort is the best place to stay in Kauai. It has outstanding large condos with excellent kitchen, high end appliances, nice furnishings, Jacuzzi tubs. The property itself is in a great location and has a pool with water slides, and restaurant on the beach and great views! I would recommend this for couples and also great for kids!
Remax Kauai was super nice and helped with anything we needed as well. We were especially impressed with Angela!

      Celebration in Kauai

Left on 03/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Waipouli Resort was a perfect get-away location. Central location to resturants, beach and a lagoon pool and spa. The view from our room wasn't the best, but it gave us a good reason to go to the beach/pool. The elevator noise was a bit fursrating and it made it difficult to sleep in after a long night of celebrating.

Timothy M.'s review of Waipouli Luxury Condo D-405

Left on 03/06/2011 for a stay in February 2011

D405 was very nice. However, facing the street was noisey. Also, there was a constant noise from the roof. Upon speaking to management and to a maintenance person, the noise was from the air conditioning cooling towers and, due to being close to the elevator, noise from the elevator's hydraulic pump. The noise was quite noticable while trying to sleep at night. It's incredible that a modern building would not be engineered so as to isolate the noise. I would recommend that visitors not book the top floor and not the street side of building D. Otherwise the property and D 405 are excellent.

Left on 10/19/2010 for a stay in October 2010

We loved everything except for the fitness center. Please consider upgrading the rusty equipment and doing something about the odor situation. Also the knives in the kitchen were dull which is actually more dangerous then sharp knives, due to the lack of knife control. Anyway, thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful large condo with no supplies and no view

Left on 07/29/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Kapa'a is a great central location.
The pool is as nice as it looks, clean, with two tiny slides that close early and a long long "lagoon".
The view is of Safeway. Nuff said.
The supplies are zero. So if you want to cook fish, you might need to buy fish, aluminum foil, salt, seasonings, butter, oil, spatula (yes there is no spatula), doubling the cost of the meal. No coffee filters. No paper towels.
The grills (two for the whole complex) are always busy 5pm to 10pm.
I never heard another person, though there is a strange mechanical/compressor sound that flares to life every couple minutes.
There are a few annoying notices, like "please consider not using the air conditioning","set the air conditioner at this temperature", "please turn the air conditioner off whenever you leave", "please wash the towels at the end of your stay", "please don't wear shoes in the unit."
The internet, which worked well, is a wired connection, with a 3 foot long cord, so plan on standing at the kitched counter, or bring a longer cable or wireless router.
