We stayed at the Waipouli Beach Resort, A206 from April 17-27, 2013. I can't say enough good things about this condo. The view from every room is stunning, the owners and Re/Max were great to work with. The place had every amenity you needed and more. The only down side is we didn't stay long enough! The location is ideal. Close walking distance to grocery stores and funky little shops.
We will definitely be going back and renting this condo again, but next time it will be at least two weeks! -

Great location, spacious condo, beautiful surroundings, and well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waipouli Beach Resort A-206. The only negative about the condo is the lack of closet space for the second bedroom - the one in the bedroom was locked and the one in the adjoining bath was filled with beach equipment (the beach equipment is a plus -- just took up the only other closet space for bedroom 2).

We spent a week in A-206 and it couldn't have been nicer. The place was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The pictures don't do it justice. If you are traveling with children, the owner has even included bogey boards, sand mats, and chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and everything you can think of (even a pizza cutter).
The washer and dryer in the unit meant that we could pack light and always have a dry swim suit.
Conveniently located across the street from a grocery, and half way between the north and south shores, the location was ideal.
We can't wait to come back! -

Left on 03/13/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We were very happy with the rental process which was simple. We were also pleased that the property shown on VRBO was exactly what we got. The location was perfect not only because it is central in terms of driving on Kauai, but there were a lot of conveniences like grocery stores open all night. We loved being on the beach and still having a pool and air conditioning. A couple of minor comments that may help earn this condo top marks are that there needs to be more lighting, especially in the bedrooms. Finding clothes in the closet is a challenge. Cleanliness was also a bit lacking, but you only notice when looking for things under the beds and sofa. The biggest complaint would be the dresser and bed table in the 2nd bedroom. Because the closet was locked, and the dresser was very small and the drawers fell out ever time they were opened, our kids needed to store their clothes in their suitcases. There is not lots of room for these either without a closet. Overall, I would recommend this property to a friend.

We realy liked the resort. Had a problem with the airconditioning, which the manager came out to fix. I appreciated his kindness and attention.
Condo was beautifuil, only complaint is the pool was cold. I was told it was set on 78-80 degress but there is no way it was that warm. I wonder if something is wrong with the thermostat. Loved all the space and the beautiful view. -

Left on 10/22/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Room was nice and clean with the best location in the resort, the waves/beach were right outside the window. The living area is quite small with the dining table/chairs taking up a lot of space. More stools are needed at the breakfast bar. The master bed was very good. Balcony only had a large table and 4 chairs with no room for a chaise to relax which is a shame as the view is wonderful. The pool area as well as some of the rooms nearby were loaded with loud children and their parents, so if you are looking for a more "adult" peaceful place this is not for you. If you have kids it is great - they will love the pool. The Oasis restaurant on site has wonderful food but this is more of an adult, romantic restaurant, kids would not like it. Good restaurants and beaches are close by so you do not need to drive too far for a great meal and swimming. The beach at the complex is not for swimming. The unit is well equipped with beach chairs, snorkel equipment, cooler, beach towels, etc. which was very convenient. Safeway grocery store is located right across the street, convenient but this is a high traffic area of the island.
Overall, a nice location as a home base to explore Kauai. Go for an oceanfront room. -

This is a big, lovely modern condo in a great location. The town of Kapa'a is conveniently located to drive to all the spots on the island you'd want to visit. The condo is well stocked with beach chairs, towels, cooler, etc. The pool and beach area are great. The only downside is that the ocean is not very swimmable here because of rocks and coral. Overall, this is the nicest rental I've ever stayed in.

This unit was exactly as I expected it. It had the best ocean front location in the resort. Ocean views from all 3 lanais. Beautiful pool, great food at the Oasis on site. The unit has a king bed in one bedroom, 2 doubles in the 2nd and a pull-out sofa in the living area (clarifying, because I found conflicting info about this). You will not be disappointed. LOVED IT!!!

Unit needs a few more cooking amenities, ie.,salt, pepper, spices, oil, sugar. Also, more than 3 little beach towels.
Hanging clothes in the back closet was problematic due to owners beach supplies. Otherwise, loved the amenities of the facility and the location. Thanks -

Loved the amenities the condo offered. Beautiful view and quite location in resort. Not enough towels were supplied for a family of 4. Pool was awesome, 2 yr old and 6yr old boys loved it! Overall, the resort was well taken care of and clean. We ran into some issues when we arrived after a longer than expected day of travel. Staff verged on rude when I needed to contact the emergency staff number to get my mother-in-law into her suite. Might recommend booking through the resort next time. Maybe the resort staff is more friendly and professional and worth the extra cost if a problem arises.

This was our 2nd year to vacation in this unit, and we returned because we liked it so very much the first time. The second visit paralleled the first. The unit feels very luxurious while still being livable. We had 6- and 4-year olds with us, so that's a great combination for our family. And, it's location cannot be beat for view and sounds of the spectacular coastline. The boys also really enjoy the pool at this complex with it's pebble bottomed shallow play area and jacuzzis. We've also found the management company very responsive when they can be to requests for slightly early arrival or late departure. We are already planning a 3rd visit!

We had a wonderful time in Kauai. Your resort was very nice, and the accommodations were great. However, I would like to make a few suggestions: 1. Offer pool service. Your patrons should not have to go to the bar outside of the pool enclosure to order drinks or food. Sending in a waiter/waitress every few minutes, especially in the afternoons, would make your patrons very happy (many I spoke with were very surprised to hear that this service was not offered). Plus, offering pool service beginning at noon would be helpful; waiting until 4 pm is very inconvenient. 2. Having 2 codes to remember for your room as well as the pool was a bit inconvenient as well. Isn't there some way you can use the same? 3. We went through VRBO to reserve our room. You changed all the room access codes several days into our stay. You said you notified the rental companies (somehow we were not notified); however, I would think that you would want every patron to know of this change. Why wouldn't you contact each room to notify them? A simple voice message or note in the room would suffice. We were locked out for 30 minutes, late in the evening, and it was a bit inconvenient. Overall, we had a fabulous time and would recommend your resort to others. In fact, we already have!

This is a great location on Kauai, midway between the lush North side and the drier South side. Once you get to your condo, the congestion on the highway is gone. The resort has a fabulous pool area with 3 hot tubs and 2 waterslides. We enjoyed them after coming back from our day's excursions. There is a restaurant, Oasis, on the grounds that serves good "small plates" in an open air beachfront location. The beachfront isn't great for swimming, but it is a wonderful place to walk and watch the waves.
The unit we stayed in A-206 was perfect for 2 couples and had a nice ocean view from the lanai. The appliances were all first rate and we cooked in often.

My husband, myself and our two children, (3 years and 7 months), stayed for 10 nights in A-206. It was the perfect accomodation for our family. Lots of room for the kids and there 'stuff', great appliances, washer/ dryer. The view was amazing, we had the sunrise everyday. The location was great and close to both sides of the island. The pool was the best pool for our son, we played for days in the little pool. The beach was great for sunbathing and relaxing. The restaurant Oasis was fantastic and very accomodating to our family. The resort was very clean and well-maintained. We would book A-206 again in second!

Sammamish, WAA nice vacation but a few issues with Waipoli this time
Left on 07/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We enjoyed our 4th visit to the island. We normally enjoy staying at the Waipoli Beach Club and feel the location is ideal to our visit. We were appalled at the strange security issues of the building this time. The Oasis had several loud parties that lasted until 2am...music could be heard thru closed doors. This was appalling due tot he fact that we paid for this amazing waterfront location and couldn't even sleep at night! We realize this is a restaurant, but had no idea it was a 2am bar! People were running around drunk, smoking and disruptive around the grounds during this hectic time. Then large groups of Hawaaiin native boys would end up in the pool and hot tubs at night. Someone they "knew" had allowed them in. They were nice, but picking up on several of the young girls who were soaking in the tubs. Again, this was simply unacceptable. We are paying guests, and the "security guard" was sure to yell at us (rudely) that we allowed our two children, 12 and 10, to sit on the hot tub steps while we were sitting in the hot tub, because they were under age 18. Again, we were sitting in there too, no one else was in the hot tub except us, and the "kid friendly" hot tub was a mess. Older kids had been spitting in it, so we were not wanting to go in it. The security guard was rude, and confrontassional towards us. We will never attend the Waipoli resort again, due to the rude behavior, lack of security and loud nightclub resort hours. We are still in disbelief!

We loved the view & the location made it easy to get to other areas on Island. Very Spacious. Lots of extras. Nice place!!However we were surprised that we called the first day to say one shower was clogged and were told it was a holiday weekend so no one could come for 3 days- after we would leave- so we should all use one shower- fine except we paid extra to have 2 bathrooms for all of us. Also, dishwasher had many roaches. But otherwise clean and nice place to stay.

Bend, OR10 day Oceanfront Vacation
Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in May 2011
My parents and husband stayed here for 10 days in May. I read all the reviews I could for this unit, and unfortunately, I have to say the most recent ones were correct. While the unit is top of the line in finishes and appliances, the maintenance and upkeep is somewhat lacking. The weather was NOT good (3 flash flood warnings), however you can't control that, but it did force us to stay in a lot, and we found there was no lighting at the dining table, so we had to buy a light at Walmart just to be able to eat and play cards, etc... Screen doors need to be replaced, dresser and night stand in guest room need replacing (drawers fall out) and need different shower heads, those are useless. I must say though they have the BEST W&D; we have ever used! The view was very nice, but be prepared for very little lanai space. The A/C worked great, but be sure when the main sliders are closed that you pull hard to the right to seat them properly or the A/C will not come on. The grounds are beautiful well kept, and the pool is amazing. If you crave peace from the children, the back side of the pool was usually quieter. Three hot tubs, and one is adult only, which was nice. Overall the unit is very nice with a great view, but it would be fantastic if a little more effort was put into maintenance and replacement of necessary items.
Response from Remax Kauai - 06/09/2011
Manager
We have a Guest Feedback letter in every unit that encourages guests to notify us if there are any issues during their stay. We at RE/MAX Kaua`i was not apprised of any of the complaints and we are so sorry to hear of these inconveniences. It would have been our pleasure to loan our guests an extra lamp. Owners have been apprised and they have immediately ordered a floor lamp for more illumination. Screen doors: Our housekeeper and RE/MAX Kaua`i have both previously reported the screen doors to Waipouli's AOAO's maintenance dept. which is on site. Unfortunately, we were on a waiting list. Sliding screen doors have been repaired and/or replaced since. The fancy "Rain Forest" shower heads will also be replaced with the preferred massage shower heads models. Regarding the drawers of the dresser and night stand in guest room, we will look into it and try to remedy the problem. Unfortunately, the company that makes these furniture built it that way. We hope that our guests overall enjoyed their vacation on Kaua'i despite the inconveniences encountered. Mahalo nui loa for your constructive criticisms. The owners and our property management staff will endeavor to continually improve our hospitality services.

Bend, ORKauai Oceanfront Condo a-206
Left on 05/24/2011 for a stay in May 2011
My husband and I stayed here for 10 days with my parents. The unit was very clean, top of the line appliances and finishes from the floors up to the crown moldings. Great view from the sliding glass door in the living room (no lanai proper, can only stand out there). The larger lanai off the 2nd bedroom is nice with a table and 4 chairs, however the lock on the sliding door from the bd room didn't work and fell out when we turned it to open. The screen door wouldn't slide, so we never used it after the first two nights and turned on the a/C.
The bathrooms are huge, however not much closet space as it's full of children's toys and chairs and coolers, which is nice mind you, but didn't have anywhere to store our clothes and belongings as the dresser drawers fell out on your feet when you opened them, and the night stand drawers also were very hard to open and close. There were other reviewers who had noted some of the same issues we had, and we were hoping they had been fixed. The screen doors need replacing, as do both sets of shower heads with a different type maybe, the fine streams of water they put out you can't rinse off with.
The master bd rm was even larger with an ever larger bathroom, it was amazing how much space you had between the two bathrooms! Nice Washer and Dryer also, one of the most efficient I've ever used in a beach condo and they provided laundry detergent.
Like I mentioned before, we ran the a/C at night, as we had some pretty strange weather while here, it rained 7 of the 10 days with 3 flash flood warnings and very high humidity. One tip for the a/C, when you close the main sliders, you need to pull hard to the right to seat them properly before the unit will turn on.
I think the idea behind this complex was to having dining on the lanai and not indoors, however, the weather made that impossible, so indoors we were, but there was no lighting over the dining table, or anywhere close, so we had to buy a floor lamp so we could dine and play cards, etc...
The property grounds were amazing and spotless, the pool was very refreshing, and if you wanted peace and quiet, the back side of the pool area seemed to be more geared toward the "adult" area. Three hot tubs with sand/shell like bottoms, one adult Only hot tub is located up front. There were also 4 very nice gas bbq's (3 were working).
Since we rented directly from the owner on Vrbo, we didn't have the occasion to talk with any staff from the Resort proper, except the gentleman who did the Coy Fish feeding in the morning, very nice guy and super chatty! The owner was very nice and accomodating as well when we made contact and we ended up finishing the process with ReMax.
Overall very beautiful condo, comfy beds, top of the line kitchen and finishes. I would have given it 5 stars if the deferred maintenance issues had been updated. I'd seen the same issues mentioned by reviewers on this web site since the first part of last year, so I was hopeful they'd been addressed, and a little dissapointed that they weren't. -

You can not beat the location of this condo. It is very convenient to Safeway for groceries and liquor. The Oasis restaurant is one of the best on the island and is located at this property. With kids it is ideal because there is a nice grassy area right next to the Oasis for the kids to play and the parents to sip wine. The quality of the materials used in the condo are top notch and everything was very clean and organized. My only complaint is that there is no lunch option at this condo complex (the Oasis opens up at 4pm). With such a nice pool area it would be nice to have lunch as well. If and when we go back to Kauai we will be coming back to stay in this condo --the location is perfect.

We were very satisfied and happy with the propery itself and the location was perfect. Unfortunately, the Spa by the Sea caused quite a bit of stress and we would not recommend them to a friend, and the concierge was not very helpful relative to luggage. There was no place to hold luggage for those of us with flights in the evening. Other than that, overall we were very appreciative and happy to be there! Left on 03/25/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We stayed at this 2 BR/3 bath condo for 8 days in February 2011 and we were very impressed at the layout and the quality of the unit. Upon arrival we found the unit immaculately clean. The kitchen had top quality appliances and gorgeous granite counter tops. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. It was very convenient to be able to wash and dry our clothes in the condo. Each main room (living area and the 2 BRs) had a flat screen TV and DVD player, and the 2 BRs had an iPod player/speaker system, a very nice touch. Also, each of the main rooms had a sliding glass door leading to their own private lanai, although 2 of the lanais were small with only enough room to stand. The views were fantastic and the beach was just steps away; a few beach accessories were provided. The pool complex was close, expansive, and private. There was also a beach appetizer restaurant and bar on the property which was quite nice. Parking was convenient and free as was the wireless internet. A Safeway grocery store was just across the street so stocking up the kitchen for our stay was not a problem. The only things that we thought should have been provided were some food staples. Except for salt and pepper (cleverly hidden on a top shelf) and a full supply of ice in the ice maker, nothing else was provided. So whatever we needed for cooking while we were there (e.g., cooking oil, condiments, spices, etc.) had to be purchased which was not very convenient. Unfortunately we had 2 families with very young kids in the units just below us and they decided to camp out in tents on the lawn and sometimes the noise level diminished the enjoyment of the view from our lanais, but that could happen anywhere. While the largest lanai did have a table for meals, there was no room for a lounge chair or two which was disappointing. The location of this complex in Kapaa was very convenient with a number of restaurants in the area (don’t miss the view while having some appetizers and drin

this is an excellent property with the best location on the island in my opinion. The only issue whatsoever is the frontroom couch, which is an ultrasuede type fabric and has become soiled. It was thus somewhat unpleasant to use as the main seating area in the room. We did not utilize the couch for sleeping for the same reason, although it would have been convenient to do so.

The maintenance man never returned to finish fixing the sceen door. Wish the condo complex had better food and drink service. Lunch/drinks by the pool or patio in the afternoon would be wonderful. A bigger dinner menu would be a plus for those who don't want to leave the property but want more than a tapas bar.

The view and location of the property were ideal. The property is between Hanalei and Poipu and just minutes to the airport. The condo was located on the second floor with a view of the ocean and sunrises. However, there were serval things in the condo that need attention: 1) an army of tiny ants were nestled in the kitchen area (range and on the living room couch 2) slider screen doors were very difficult to open 3)standing lamp on/off switch in the master bedroom did not work 4)shower in the second bedroom did not drain properly 5) shower heads in both bedrooms were not adjustable and the water flow was restricted.

Loved our two week stay here, but were disappointed in the management company. Never heard anything from them during our entire two week stay, then were only contacted later for an "additional $52 cleaning fee. The property and facilities were first rate and location excellent. The condo was in great shape, had a great view, and management was very helpful. The only complaint I have is that the availability of hot water in the condo was very limited. At first I thought this may be due to Kauai's effort for energy conservation. However, later the same week I stayed in another condo at the same resort, and the amount of hot water available was much better. Overall, I was very satisfied during my stay at the condo, and would recommend this condo to others.

We loved the location. The beach right outside was perfect for our small children and the grocery store across the street was very convenient. The only thing we weren't fond of was the shower. The water pressure and shower head were not adjustable and the shower experience was not pleasant for both adults and children.

We had a truly wonderful stay in this ocean-front property. It was spacious, fully equipped, and in one of the best locations in the resort. The kids LOVED the snake pool, and the beach which was steps away from the condo. The view from all balconies and sound of ocean was stunning. We also enjoyed the onsite restaurant and bar, and resort spa. Kids also participated in the Koi fish feeding on several mornings.
There are a couple of suggestions we want to make to improve the guest experience even further:
1) Master bathroom - shower head needs to be upgraded and shower stall needs better lighting
2) please remove any requirements for guest to do any laundry upon checkout. given the overall rental fees and the upscale nature of the property, this is really not requiredResponse from Remax Kauai - 08/24/2010

Aloha Shilpi,I wanted to say I am glad you enjoyed your stay at Waipouli Beach Resort A206. I wanted to apologize if you mis-understood the note on the washer as that is really to deter people from leaving excessive laundry as we have had this happen in the past, again I do apologize for any mis-understanding this may have caused.

The four of us in our group traveled from Germany, Chicago and Ohio to stay in your lovely condo. The accommodations were wonderful. The way you have set up the bedrooms with two beds in the master and the king in the other bedroom worked out great for us. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed along with the grill area by the pool. We used that several times during our vacation. The grounds were fantastic, pool area was great. Even though we didn't rent directly from Waipouli Resort, we were able to use the services of the concierge desk. They know what they are talking about. It was very convenient to have the grocery store directly across from the resort, just walked across the street to get groceries. Wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend the unit, ocean front views. The best!!

We really enjoyed staying in 206A. The lay out of the unit was perfect with the large and very up-to-date bathrooms, living area and kitchen. We were traveling with 2 "big" kids (20 and 21 year olds) so the two queen beds in the second bedroom were perfect. What a view from every room!!! Going to sleep with the sounds of the ocean right outside our door was awesome. The resort itself was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The Lazy River pool and slides were unique and fun even for us big kids. I definately would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

The condo was beautiful and had everything we needed. The pool was the best we have ever seen, great waterfalls, slides, and caves. My son Loved it!!!! The only thing that we did not like was the beach, not really a swimming beach, too rocky. We did find some great beaches within a short drive. We had a great experience at this property and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Left on 03/01/2010 for a stay in February 2010
After loads of research we were so happy with Waipouli and A-206. The resort's location on the island (Kapaa) is terrific for travel to the north (Hanalei Bay/Princeville - lush, old Hawaiian feel) and south (Poipu - newer, Maui feel) ends of the island. It is also convenient in terms of having amenities across the street, an 8 mile round trip paved running/bike path along the water down the block and Mermaids restaurant (among others) within a mile. A 206 is the prime location within the resort. It is as oceanfront as it gets and is extremely easy to get to via 2 sets of stairs or an elevator. The unit is top notch. The on-site spa and restaurant had reopened the last week of February, but the restaurant was only serving dinner at that time.

We had a wonderful time! This condo is in a perfect spot. It is midpoint on the island. So driving to the south or north beaches was never more than 30 minutes. The view from this condo is fantastic and away from all the pool noise. The condo is very well appointed. The only thing we were missing was a stereo or ipod dock. The restaurant on the property was not available during our stay, but I believe it is in the process of reopening under new management. Not a problem because there are several options close by if you don't want to cook. We will definately stay here again the next time we come to Kauai. Mahalo

The only reasons we didn't give the property an absolute "5 Star Thumbs Up" was that the stairwells were stinky and in need of paint and sanitizing and some of the landscaping was lacking the "Marriott" touch. Also, the restaurant and shop being closed was a little strange. Otherwise, perfection reigned!!! The owner even called from Colorado just to make sure all was great. We will return and will recommend it and Dr. Bob Berry (the owner) to the whole world.

We absolutely loved our unit. What a beautiful location right on the water. You cant get any closer!! The waves lulled me to sleep every night. The accomodations were wonderful. The pool and hottubs were perfect for our 8yr old and 9month old. The only big dissappointment was there was no food or drinks offered on the property even though it mentioned they did have a bar/restaurant. It has closed and this was not mentioned anywhere. Otherwise, A-206 was wonderful and Waipouli resort was perfect!

I recommend this property to anyone traveling to Kauai. The location cannot be beat not only because it's centrally located between the north and south sections of Kauai but there's a 24 hr grocery store across the street. The amenities in our condo were state-of-the-art and since it was an ocean front unit, we had the kind only seen prior on a travel program. Trust me, to see in person will leave you breathless. Without a doubt, between the resort and the island itself, we experienced the vacation of a lifetime. There was not one thing we would change and simply cannot wait to return. If you want top of the line, the Waipouli Beach Resort is the only way to go!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location of the unit could not have been better, with a wonderful view of the ocean and beach. The pool was a real plus. We appreciated the beach equipment that was on the property. Our only suggestion would be old towels that could have been available to wipe feet and to use at the beach. The unit was very clean and well laid out for two families. The location of the entire property was not on the most scenic part of Kauai, but that would be my only complaint. Once you were on the grounds, everything was beautiful. The proximity to the airport was a plus. We would certainly stay there again.

Albany, ORWaipouli Beach Resort, Condo A206
Left on 10/14/2008 for a stay in October 2008
We just returned from our 3rd trip to the lovely garden isle of Kauai. This was our first visit to the Waipouli Resort and it was a gorgeous property. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained and our condo was spotless when we first arrived. This resort is not a timeshare or a hotel but all condo's are individually owned. One of the issues we saw/experienced is that there apparently has been some kind of split or disagreement as to which company handles the unit rentals. Outrigger handles the majority of them and Remax also handles a fair share. Unfortunately because of this the staff at the resort's front desk will hardly speak to you, and are quite rude at times if you are not an Outrigger guest. Remax has a room 4 floors up with a staff person in it who will run down to see you if you need something but it is not the same as having a front desk as you would normally use in this kind of a situation. We had no less than 4 of our door keys (key cards) mess up on us and every time we went to the lobby is was an ordeal to deal with the Outrigger staff and then the Remax person would ride the elevator down with our new key card. This particular unit has a great view and some nice ammenities such as great sand bucket + goodies for the kids and 3 boogie boards stashed in the closet. That was a pleasant surprise, although, Remax or the owner should let you know in advance so you do not rent a boogie board before you discover this or take up unnecessary space in your suitcase bringing you own sand toys for the kids...like I did! With the airlines cracking down on checking bags you need all the space you can get in those bags! We also went 3 days with no ac which was not good in that humidity and with the price we paid for this place. By the 4th day of workers going in and out of our condo it was finally repaired. The only other issue was the noise level next door. Halfway through our 10 day stay a family checked into unit G207 right next door to us.

We have only praise for this property. We have travelled the Hawaiian island extensively, and some of the accomodation has been decidedly less than advertised. The Waipouli condo was everything it promised and more. It had everything we hoped for, was spotlessly clean and perfectly located. The girls at Remax were a pleasure to deal with and we will certainly be back.
