Coon Rapids, MNLovely view
Left on 05/19/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was a great room on 3rd floor with a lovely view of the ocean. We did email about our sheets not staying on the bed and the housekeeper changed them out for us a day later. There was a fridge, toaster oven and microwave. Handy for leftovers. Great location in Kapa'a. Remote does not work well with the TV. Have to be right in front of the sensor. Could use more photos of Kauai on the walls and a new shower curtain because of mildew.
All and all a quiet room that had all that we needed. We were there for 7 days the end of april for our 4th anniversary.

TorontoGreat condo, would stay again!
Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My husband and I recently stayed for a week at this condo in Kauai. It was our first experience renting a condo, we usually stay in hotels/resorts but opted to go with a condo for the honeymoon. The condo is in a great location on the Island, close to the airport and in the middle of the east coast making the North & South easily accessible. The condo itself was clean though I would recommend maybe a good scrub to get rid of some dust that's collected over time. We had an amazing view, truly couldn't ask for better and we loved sitting out on the balcony in the evenings listening to the ocean, sipping wine, relaxing from our days events. Kauai is a beautiful place and we really enjoyed our stay here, we've already decided we're coming back and we would definitely stay in this condo again. It was priced well, was equipped with what we needed for our short stay, the Coconut Marketplace was amazing to have a few minutes walk away, we frequented the shops there daily to pick up wine/beer, fresh fruit at the farmers market and amazing fish tacos at the Fish Market. While the beach was a bit rough for swimming, there were a few who braved it, we were out most days sightseeing and beach hopping, we did use the pool and hot tub in the evenings, the resort is really pretty at night lit up with tiki torches. We also spotted turtles right off our beach :) All in all, a truly wonderful experience, highly recommended.
Thank you for helping to make our honeymoon a memorable one! :)Response from Garden Island Properties LLC - 09/26/2012

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My husband and I had a tremendous trip to Kauai. Even though this was not our first trip to the tropical paradise, we enjoyed it more than ever, especially the Botanical Gardens, the Fern Grotto, the excellent restaurants and incredible ocean views from the condo. We will return soon.

Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in March 2012
The room was comfortable, but not luxurious. The fan was very noisy in the bathroom. We found the staff friendly and pleasant, but they made a point in saying we were :private",and they couldn't help us. I asked for help with luggage, but they were unable to provide any. Still, I love the Islander and would probably stay there again. It is a beautiful setting, and it is conveniently close to restaurants, shopping, etc.

Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Islander on the Beach is a fine place to stay in Kapa'a, and #348's incredible oceanfront view will make you reluctant to leave the lanai. The grounds are very well-maintained, the staff friendly ,and the hot tub, reputed by repeat visitors to be "the best" on the island, was indeed, very clean and hot. Grills by the pool gave us the opportunity to cook out and chat with other visitors. The condo is small and there isn't space to do much more than make coffee in the 'kitchen' area, but for the two of us, it was comfortable.
While I would definitely recommend Islander on the Beach for your stay in Kapa'a, I recommend you consider a condo with another property management company--- I found Garden Island Property manager Greg Strickland rude and unhelpful when I had an issue. After an extremely long traveling day, we found ourselves locked out of the condo upon arrival. The property manager took an hour to finally return multiple phone calls and messages to his "emergency" number. By the time he finally returned my calls, we were past exhausted, and having given up on hearing from him, we checked ourselves in to another room for the night. His lack of accountability when it came to answering his "emergency contact number" in a timely manner left an extremely bad impression, not to mention plenty of frustration and a big extra expense to us.Response from Garden Island Properties LLC - 03/06/2012

Thank you for the positive remarks about the unit. It is a nicely appointed studio with a beautiful oceanfront view, well maintained grounds and conveniently located on the east side of Kauai close to shops and restaurants. It was unfortunate you forgot to bring the key code emailed to you prior to coming, however, your initial call for the code was returned within the hour. We understand your frustration but it sounds like you did enjoy your stay which is the main thing and good to hear.

As soon as we opened the door to the unit, you could see the ocean, my husband said "This is paradise". The unit is very well looked after, the bed is so comfy. We loved to have our breakfast on the lanai most mornings so we could watch the whales! We did not want to leave to go back to Waikiki for 3 more nights. We will definitely return!! And we have already told most of our friends the unit.

VancouverGreat Value, Great View!
Left on 12/14/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Unit #348 at the Islander is perfectly positioned, front and center on the beach with a ocean view. Interior details are nice with plantation style furniture and a little kitchenette for preparing food(fridge, toaster, microwave).
The only suggestion I might have is that room service be more frequent than once every 29 days...its hard to keep sheets and towels clean that long...
Would stay again.Response from Garden Island Properties LLC - 12/19/2011
Manager
Aloha and Mahalo for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your oceanfront studio. Because this unit is privately managed; guests are responsible to take care of their own linens; affording us to keep our rates low. Kitchenette is definitely a plus! Mahalo!

Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We stayed at Islander on the Beach in 2007 also and were so impressed that we booked part of our vacation this time at Islander again. This is an ocean front condo with spectacular views. We got up every morning to watch the sunrise and whales while drinking our coffee. The pool area is very nice as is the pool bar. We had monk seals on the beach 2 days out of the 7 we were there and the whale watching every day was spectacular. The only negative piece was that the condo wasn't as clean as it should have been. Huge dust bunnies below the headboard and I had to clean the microwave and pizza oven when we got there. Everything else was perfect.

Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in February 2011
This was a perfect place for us! The location, on the east side of the island, was convenient for getting to where we wanted to go. We were a few minutes from the airport, near a Safeway, and close to an ocean-side biking/walking path. Good food was nearby at the Coconut Plantation, and we had a particularly fine seafood dinner at WaHoo!
The ocean view from this 3rd-floor condo was divine for sunrises and very pleasant for breakfast on the lanai, relaxing reading time, and people watching.
We would definitely stay here again.

very nice unit, ocean roar all the time! Could use more towels and soap for two week stay. Tiki bar is cool and you'll meet lot's of fellow travelers. Swimming is dicey, but it's one of the best places to take a stroll. Centrally located, it's great to go to princeville or down to poipu.

For me, Kauai is the best of all the Hawaiian Islands. This particular unit(#348) gives me every thing I am looking for. I can't decide which is best, being lulled to sleep by the beat of the ocean, awakening to the promise of a fantastic sunrise or the beeauty and closeness of the ocean right off my Lanai. It's peaceful and beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay in Islander #348. It was great to wake up and look out our window and watch the sunrise. The bed was a little firm for my taste, but still comfortable. The room was nice and private, perfect for our wedding/honeymoon. We had a great time.

Pullman, WA5th Honeymoon to Hawaii
Left on 06/02/2010 for a stay in May 2010
This was our 5th time in Hawaii, first time on Kauai. The condo was nice inside with a fantastic view. Everything was clean and the location was okay for driving to other parts of the island. The beach in front of the condo is rocky but their is a nice little cove nearby that has more sandy beach. We often saw monk seals there which was cool, except the would close down part of the beach for them, which was usually the part where you wanted to be. The only complaint I have is the loud air conditioner. It definitely needs some work. We couldn't sleep with the noise so we barely turned it on after the first day. If you are looking for a great value on Kauai, dont mind a small space, and are willing to drive to get to nicer beaches, this is the place for you.

This is our second stay at 348. As mentioned and noted already, some of the interior space needed attention and is being looked into. We stayed for two weeks and were sad to go as always. This was our 7th trip to the closest place to heaven on earth. Thank you for making this unit avaiable and affordable to us.

As I have stayed at this property several times says it all. Very nice clean and well cared for. Close to Kapaa eating and shopping at the Coconut market place. The only thing I miss is the resturant that used to be on the property.
