Description from the owner
Hidden among the trees in a peacefull, wilderness setting; when you stay at Coal Creek Cabins you'll feel like you're miles from anyone else, but in reality you're just minutes from the Kasilof river and boat launch, 15 minutes from Soldotna and the famous Kenai river and about 65 miles north of Homer Alaska for some unforgetable saltwater charters. We're not far from the Cook Inlet for some beach walking or clamming when the tide is low. Our local store/restaurant, gas station and post office are close by too.
Our cabin is fully furnished and equipped to accommodated up to 6 guests comfortably. You can relax on the spacious covered dec...Read more

The Mann's cabin was wonderful and Nancy is a great host. The cabin is perfect for up to 5 people. Beautiful deck, superb kitchen, satellite, freezer. Well suited for travelers or fishermen like us. Nothing like cooking salmon you caught yourself, seeing a moose from the deck, and enjoying real alaska solitude in the woods over Coal Creek. We'll stay again!

Nancy, you remembered everything! Beautiful Cabin with a great location. Excellent back porch. Coffee maker, Coffee filters, sugar and coffee! Great Kitchen. Hot Shower. Amazing Toyo Heater. We love your Cabin! You told us to call you if we needed anything. Very clean and comfortable. We didn't need to call you! You even had an outside freezer. We would recommend your cabin to anyone!

We all had a wonderful time during our stay and Nancy was very friendly and helpful. The cabin was wonderful and very roomy. Great to be able to grll outdoors while relaxing to the sounds of Coal Creek. Saw mama and baby moose grazing around the entire stay. Only 2 minutes from the fantastic property we bought from Matt Letzing so very convenient location and only 15 minutes to Soldotna. Thanks for the hospitality.

Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in June 2007
We had a very comfortable cabin, stocked well with a beautiful and useful cabin.
The fishing was fantastic because of a guide (Mike) who knows the balance between creating a fun and successful experience and not getting in the way of your own adventure.Response from Mike & Nancy Manns - 09/18/2011

Mike & Nancy have a absolutely wonderful cabin tucked away in a quiet beautiful location in Kasilof aK.
The cabin was more than what I ever dreamed of when we arrived.
To start there is a large area to park, enough for our car and boat. It's in a wooded area, and landscaped very nicely. The cabin is very clean and new.
Nancy has it stocked with everything, and I mean everything ! It sleeps 6 very comfortable with all of your linens, extra pillows,blankets,towels..You name it !
My favorite area was the enormous deck with built in benches in the back. You can listen to the running creek, and watch the moose graze near the water.
They have a fully equipped BBQ full of propane and ready to roll ! The Kitchen is adorable !
We stayed very warm at night, and they even have dish TV network for those of you that just can't beak-away from the home environment.
Our family from ND were just as happy to be there. They said they would definitely come back without a doubt. We too will be back, in fact we already have a reservation in the next few weeks to come stay again for the upcoming dip-netting season. Oh yea , and did I mention they are just up the road from the prime dip-netting spot in Kasilof beach ...??
Thanks for making our experience a memorable one !!!
As a extra bonus, Mike & Nancy also own a fabulous charter business , "just to top off your experience" !!!
I strongly recommend this to anyone one looking for a get-away in aK!Response from Mike & Nancy Manns - 09/18/2011

Left on 05/04/2011 for a stay in August 2010
Great location! If you fish... you can you can choose between the Kenai or Kasilof rivers. Both rivers offer the big three (Kings, Reds and Silvers). The best thing is the cabin is better than the fishing - it's super clean, sleeps 6 comfortably, full kitchen, large bathroom, and an amazing deck with a big gass grill and a view of Crooked Creek. The Host/Mike & Nancy are "real Alaskans" and you'll get a true taste of Alaska if you stay here. There's so many things to do... Soldotna is 15 minutes north, half hour or so to the south you can go clamming (be sure to check the clam tides) and... if you are serious about catching fish........ Homer is about an hour south. Ask Nancy to set you up with a fishing charter:)

This cabin is secluded, quiet, warm and cozy. We have stayed in this cabin multiple times and always look forward to our return. The location is convenient to clamming, fishing, hiking... whatever your outdoor desires are you can have it here. If you just want to hangout on the back porch and do nothing... perfect place for that too:) Thanks Mike and Nancy for your hospitality and providing us with a home away from home. See you soon!

What a delight to find such a wonderful cabin in the alaska wilderness. The cabin was clean/spacious/great kitchen and a bathroom bigger than I have at home! The deck was fantastic!!! We grilled out several nights on the huge gas grill that was on the deck. We found the cabin so peaceful we hated to leave it to go fishing, but fishing we went. Mike and Nancy are natural hosts to a state and area they obviously love. Mary...Texas
