Additional Location Information
The pleasant bay of Kata, just a few minutes south of Karon Beach, entices and charms many visitors with its white sands and clear waters. Very popular with families, Kata is an all round favorite due to its spectacular palm-lined beach, great restaurants, lively but not raucous nightlife and varied accommodation options - all close to the beach. From May to October surfers flock to catch Kata's waves and from November to April the beach is alive with sun seekers.
Kata is split into two focal areas: Kata Centre, which is at the northern end close to Karon and Kata South, home to several resorts. Visitors will find an abundance of shops to browse in, from souvenir and ready-to-wear outlets, to 7-Elevens and local mini-marts, to name-brand fashion stores.

Kata Beach, ThailandAmazing Sunsets at the Top!
Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013
During the very relaxing 6 weeks we spent at Kata Ocean View we had a great time.
We traveled through Thailand and parts of asia for a couple of months before arriving at this place, and being at Kata Ocean View was so refreshing.
The pool and property were clean and modern, management staff a pleasure, the scheduled free shuttle service to Kata Beach very helpful, and it saved us thousands of Baht over our stay.
Whether you stay for a few days or few weeks I think you will love this place as we did.
Oh did I mention the amazing sunsets in the evenings from on top of this beautiful mountain. -

Having stayed in hotels and resorts in Phuket before, I was a little anxious about a serviced apartment. We are a young family with 2 children and the value we were hoping for was far exceeded. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ruby apartment which was vesy comfortable in size with all the amenities we could have hoped for. The kitchen was ideal for preparing breakfast and evening meals (when we needed to take the young ones to bed). The swimming pool was right in front of us and there was a free bus service to the beach and kata town.
Will definitely stay here again and will now only consider serviced accomodation for family holidays in the future

The place has excellent view from terrace, friendly staff, nice pool. But that is all and for this they ask very much. I stay more comfortable places in Phuket for less money already. Furniture is not very new, chair and sofa not comfortable at all. Sometimes stinking in bathroom. What i really not understand is why is cleaning service included in price but not included changing bed clothing? In short - nice, clean, friedly, excellent position, but for this price i expected more.

My group stayed here for 3 nights. The place is at the top of a steep hill. The roads within the complex are even more steep than the main road. Beware if you are brave enough to drive on your own in Phuket. The place itself was great. The view from our unit was perfect (and this was really the top reason in staying here for us). The condos are pretty tucked away from most of the road noise. They do however get some construction noise if you are there during the day. The condos are not very convenient for walking into town. Our unit had an excellent balcony. The rooms were small, but sufficient for us. Our unit had two bathrooms, a living area, dining area, and a kitchen. This is all great for a long term stay. We did have a few issues while we were there. One was ants. Any food that we bought and left on the counter or kitchen table would be attacked by ants within 24 hours. Nature rules Thailand still. :) Second - because this is actually a condo rather than a hotel, you must verify all items in the unit and sign off at the start of your stay. This took 4 of us an hour or two right when we got there. We didn't want to end up getting charged for anything. I understand why this is necessary though. The last thing, which is somewhat serious I guess, was that there was an electric current coming through the water temperature/pressure knob in the shower. I could feel my arm tingle only when I touched it while standing in water. They do have a management office on site. It is only opened from 8 or 9 in the morning until about 6 pm though and we were only around at those times on the first and last day that we were there.
Overall, i'd definitely stay here again if I were planning on staying in Phuket for a long stay (at least one week). If I were going for a short stay though, i'd probably go somewhere that was better for walking into town.

Staying here in the low season meant i have the complex to myself, only down point in that was the complex was having a lot of building work done but i doubt the same will be true for high season. The apartment its self should get 6 stars if that would be possible, everything is new and of a high quality, you have a open plan living room and kitchen with cooker, fridge and microwave. Spending alot of time in asia and being 6ft 5 i enjoyed the good sized bathroom and great shower. This would be a great stay for a family or couple looking for a quiet get-a-way as we all know some of thailand isnt for everybody. The only downside of this complex is the lane that leads you to the main road, there is a steep hill directly to your right that blinds your view of on coming traffic so you have to be careful if you are driving that you dont pull out in front of a over-aggressive tuk-tuk driver.

Condos are not the place to retire, as there is too much transient traffic...

I recently stayed at Kata Ocean View Condominiums after booking a visit on line.
Like all travelling experiences, you dont really know what to expect until you arrive and finally see what you have purchased.
The service and facilities offered at the venue were exactly what was suggsted on line and I found a great group of people that made sure my stay was enjoyable.
It was like staying at a private hotel without the fuss and expense.

Staff are the best on the island - relaxed, easygoing, full of info, always on call
to give assistance and advice. The building is brand new - architecture and
interiors are top class, contemporary, recycled timber floors, balinese style
furniture, flat screen TV, new comfortable queen beds, air con was perfect.
Pool is pimpin' - cleaned everyday. Best position - not too close to the tourists
yet close enough to the 'action'. You get what you pay for! -

We stayed in apartment D4 (ruby) for from mid nov 09 through to end of jan 10. This is not your run of the mill holiday apts they are stylishly designed and our apt was very comfortable with two good sized double bedrooms a lovely shower room/w.c, comfotable living area with kitchenette and dining area + a good sized balcony. We had great views over kata and out to sea. The pool is just the right size with a jaccuzzi area (shame it only comes on in the evening)Shower and toilet facilites there too + loungers & umbrellas for shade. The communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Our apt was cleaned once a week included in the rental however if you wanted a cleaner every day it costs extra but they even do the dishes !!! Food can be delivered and is of a good standard however its a bit pricier than the local resteraunts just a short distance away. The beach is beautiful at Kata and a lot safer than Karon. Theres so much to see and do here you wont be able to fit it all in we didnt and we were there for 9 weeks. If your staying here you need a vehicle i strongly suggest a car over a scooter after seeing lots of crashes in the time we were there. We got a car for only about 9 pounds a day but we were there a long time if you shop around you can get one for around 12 it takes a couple of days to get used to driving but the taxis are so expensive u will save money renting a car there is a free mini bus to the beach etc but that only just started when we were about to leave. The staff at the resort are great and i would like to thank the very hard working Sana, Floriegn & John (not sure on spellings sorry)and especially Raoul Wildt who is a great asset to the company and helped us in so many ways we were and are very greatfull. This place is a hidden gem and i can strongly reccomend staying at the Kata Ocean View Apartments.
