we are very happy with our stay in the Hotel Himalaya Yoga. It is a simple, peaceful and confortable place mittle in the town, with a nice and helpful staff.
We didnt have to many time in Kathmandu and the staff helped us to organise our day, so we could see and visit the most interesting points of Kathmandu in a record time (best thanks to our nice driver Suman :-) )
It is a very good, reliable, clean and calm place for singles, couples and families. -

great location and fabulous service.I felt like a paradise in this place during my stay. All the staffs are friendly.I stayed there 5 nights in april 2013 during my visit to Nepal. All the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and along with the facilities of Library, free internet, free yoga and Buddhist meditation.I took both yoga and meditation class as was there.Everyone feels like a tranquil place even in the huge noise and crowd of Thamel. So,i liked this place very much and recommend to all clients to visit this valued place as they visit Nepal...

The gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to have changed my room type per my request but the 2nd room was absolutely horrendous: the shower-head fell on me and there was hardly ever any hot water. I did not mind the small room but it was wet and moldy. Not only were there water spots but due to some possible leaks, massive paints bubbles existed on the ceiling and the wall.
I was happy to leave but they disappointed me yet again on arranging for a shuttle drop-off to the airport on time. I had to ask a helper myself to get a taxi for me. -

If you need an affordable hotel in Kathmandu, its Himalaya Yoga.
The staff are very friendly. It's sister Hotel acme Guesthouse is affordable also.
They helped me book for my Kathmandu Valley Tour, Pokhara and annapurna tours,as well as for my side trip to New Delhi.
Nabin gave me the best price for the tour. A flight to Pokhara, 5 days 4 nights trek and a very good hotel in Pokhara after the trek.

This is the most friendly hotel that I have stayed in during my numerous visits to Kathmandu. I booked a room with outside bathroom but was upgraded both times I stayed there, at no cost to myself, to an ensuite room. The location was excellent..right in the middle of Thamel which I liked as I do not like walking down dark backstreets at night. It was not as noisy at night as many places I have stayed in Kathmandu. The room I stayed in was very cheap for the location, quite small, also reasonably basic and fairly clean. I think it is a good base for a short stay in Kathmandu. After trekking, I stayed for a few nights more, and I would stay in this hotel again due to the location and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff which is something you I have not found in other hotels I have stayed at in Kathmandu.

We had a wonderful 4 1/2 weeks at Hotel Himalaya Yoga. It is in the heart of Thamel, so all of the touristy stuff is at your doorstep, but the courtyard of the hotel itself feels secluded and it is probably as quiet as you can expect for the area. We rented an apartment with beautifully painted walls and ceilings, clean rooms, a kitchen so we could cook our own versions of curries, and a nice bathroom with a hot shower! We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, who helped us with a lot of queries and even let us use our laptop in the reception area when we had to make a presentation during a power-cut. It really felt like a home away from home, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Nice apartment with very beautiful painted decoration. It was nice and cool inside when the weather outside was very hot, which I really appreciated. The location is great for Thamel with lots of supermarkets, bars, restaurants and shops close by. It's a short walk to the old town. Staff were always helpful and very friendly.
We stayed in the top floor apartment which sleeps 4 in a double and two singles all in a single large bedroom. There is good storage with two alcoves of shelves and a large wardrobe and a desk and chair. There bathroom has a western style toilet, sink and shower. There were also communal showers and toilets available very close. The kitchen has facilities for basic cooking: two gas hobs, a small fridge and a microwave and a dining table with 4 chairs. There's a view of the "monkey temple" in the distance out of the kitchen window. There is a living room area with a couple of chairs and a sofa. Kathmandu has regular power outages but there is a generator at the Hotel and the apartment has one light in each room (apart from the living room) that runs off the generator.
It felt like a real home for 5 weeks and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a base in the centre of Kathmandu. -

London, UKFantastic 5 week stay at Hotel Himalaya Yoga
Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Myself and 3 friends stayed in one of the apartments at Hotel Himalaya Yoga for a total of 5 weeks whilst on our medical electives in Kathmandu. The apartment was great; the hand painted budhist murals were beautiful; we had a small kitchen with gas cooker and a living room area. The staff were extremely helpful, one of them (Ram) gave me lifts on his motorbike to various different hospitals that I needed to attend for my placement across the city. The location is very central and contrary to one of the past reviews is not on a dodgy alley but situated next to a great little cheap restaurant, a travel agent and a yoga centre. I would highly recommend this as an excellent place to stay.

We stayed here for 1 night only on our way back to Delhi and home. We had booked the acme but that was full and this is owned by the same people. The hotel is being redecorated by a local monk and the suites are being done to a high standard. Their website has pictures of this.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have decent bathrooms and TV.
It is very conveniently located in central Thamel, but hidden away so most of the noise is kept out, and a good choice to stay. -

To start with, i had a lifelong memorable time in Himalayan Yoga. I stayed here for two weeks, and didn't realized how time went on as it felt it was not enough and i heartly wished i could have stayed more. I was greatly touched by their excellent service and i bet once you visit here your heart will force you to come here again and again. I came here as a guest and thought i was treated more like a family member than a customer....I promise i will come again and again in such a beautiful piece of Earth which is called Himalayan Yoga....
