YAW-NOC-N cottage is a historical vacation home built in 1939 on a sturdy stone foundation and finished throughout with cedar strip boards. It has been enhanced with modern features and conveniences but still holds the character of a true country cottage retreat.
There is sleeping accommodations for ten - twelve people with linens and pillows provided. One and a half bathrooms, a full kitchen with dishwasher, and a full sized washer and dryer.
The raised back deck stretches the entire length of the house. It provides vast views of Lake Sturgeon, and allows your family to sit back and watch the houseboats... and fishermen go by. This deck is a luxury providing comfortable seating and privacy among the tree tops. Along with the great vantage point there is always a gentle breeze off the lake, and the unique soft shade of the birch tree growing thru the deck floor. It is the ultimate adults tree house!
Cozy comfort and relaxation can be found in the large livingroom. It has ample seating and lots of sunshine and breeze coming thru the huge windows. It is equipped with a high def tv, satelite, internet, cable, movies, music, ipod dock, and a home surround sound system. On cool evenings you can cozy up in front of the wood burning fireplace, and socialize or play games.... On warmer evenings head outside to the lakefront firepit and roast marshmallows, while listening to the crackling fire and the waves hitting the beach.
A unique sunporch wraps around two sides of the cottage. It holds the dining area and the sitting area which joins into the livingroom. This sunporch lets in massive amounts of light and fresh air. The dining area is situated on the west side of the house, allowing the wonderful sunsets to be captured during dinner. The sitting area is along the back of the house and has a lake view. It holds seating and a built-in bench for curling up with a good book.
Enjoy the peace and serenity this unique property offers in absolute comfort.

Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities
SUNNING, SWIMMING, AND FISHING!
The Cottage has a very large lake frontage boasting water access from:
a walk-in sandy beach area.........for swimming
an extensive deck.......for diving
stones and bolders area.......for dipping your toes
Full sun bounces off the water all day and can be enjoyed by the many seating areas. Like the built-in bench seat around the dock, the cozy seats on the shaded patio, or up high on the raised deck with the magnificent view.
Fishing is phenomenal on Sturgeon Lake, and all the Kawartha Lakes can be accessed thru the Trent Severn Locks System. The cottage dock can accomodate up to a 25' boat, with the boat launch only a 1 minute drive away! Small boat rentals are also available and only 1 minute drive away. For some, fishing off the dock is just fine and you will always reel in with a fish on your line. A CANOE and PEDDLE BOAT are also provided for a more tranquil tour of the lake to visit with the ducks and birds and the occassional dog swimming by. And don't forget the WATER TRAMPOLINE, a bounce'n good time.
Traveling to Bobcaygeon is a 'must do' and is only 15 minutes by boat or car. Go taste the fresh ice cream from the Kawarthas Dairy Factory, and see the River Locks letting boats pass thru.
The beautiful Kawartha days begin with the vivid sun rising out of the trees, bright beams reflecting off the lake. The sound of loons and early morning fishermen is faint in the distance. The water is a sheet of glass slightly scratched by a family of ducks slowly approaching the dock looking for their breakfast. Seasoned cottagers from all over the lake hop into their boats at an early hour and race off to their favorite secret fishing spots to enjoy the best fishing imaginable. But not us, you and me, we sit on the deck in our cozy adorondeck chairs and bask in that new crisp morning air, our fragrant coffee's in hand.
